"This Lovely property was even better than we had hoped it would be."
The location was great and the host couldn't have been more helpful. We stayed whilst attending my daughters wedding and staying at Kilnary cottage only added to the special weekend.I would recommend this property to all

"Kilnary Cottage is a fantastic find, in a fantastic location with amazing views."
Everything you need to have a wonderful holiday is there. Only negative for us were that the beds are quite low and not very wide. Think the beds have seen better days as we’re not very comfortable unfortunately. The tap in the kitchen is in desperate need of a new washer. Other than that, this cottage is a fantastic place to stay. Thoroughly enjoyed our week in Scotland and were able to spend quality time with family who live locally. Thank you x

"Really nice cottage had good week with friends, two things that would help, door outside from dining room needs repair very stiff to open and close, no instructions for heating system hot water too hot, and a cap needed for chimney in log burner in sitting room a starling had got inside down into burner we managed to catch it with a towel and let it go it flew away ok but would never have got out on its own."

"Wonderful cottage."
Lovely, private, modern, spacious and clean, with everything we needed. Perfect for a peaceful holiday. Thank you. We did take up the carpet runner in the hallway as it kept slipping, when we walked on it. Would be safer with sticky pads on it.

"Lovely property in a lovely setting with plenty to do and see in the county, really enjoyed our stay."
-
"Very comfortable stay in well equipped cottage."
Ideal peaceful location for exploring all that Aberdeenshire has to offer.

"This is a beautiful building with rolling field views all around."
Large spacious property very clean. Never bothered by anyone. Constant hot water for the bath. Comfortable beds and spacious kitchen and lounge. Not far from all amenities. Downside but would not prevent us from revisiting is we had a constant invasion of black Beatles which appeared to gain access via the skirting boards and in particular the utility. They came out in the evening we spotted about 25 over the week and mostly in the kitchen, lounge and master bedroom we managed to kill about 20 of them. A dust pan and brush would have been helpful and some bugs spray. The master bedroom remote doesn't work we bought new batteries to no avail. Shower mats would also provide safety as without them the showers are a hazard. A small table in the kitchen would have been handy too. Overall this is an amazing place the insects are part of being in a field to be expected and we told the children the same it must be emphasized that this should not detract from the beauty of this place and we never had them anywhere but on the floors. A hot tub and kids play area would be fabulous additions for the future. We would definitely visit again

"Had a great time and had a great time explaining the local history and attractions Already looking at returning to the cottage as there is still lots to see and do."
The cottage was all that is in the listing. Stunning location and easy access.
-
"A brilliant stay in a beautiful, warm cottage with everything you need."
Lots to do and see without driving for miles. Little ones enjoyed walking down to see the cows.
-
"Beautiful views."
Lovely location. Easy to reach local cafes and coastal scenery. Peaceful and private. In such an exceptional-looking cottage inside and out, it was so disappointing that we found the mattresses incredibly uncomfortable which meant we didn't sleep well all week. Also a shame our first impression was a broken plastic key chain with sharp edges attached to the front door key. There were no instructions for the oven or heating, however it was very clean and is fantastically spacious. Would benefit from some attention to details that could be easily actioned--we left a separate note for the owner(s). Future guests: there are no supplies such as salt, pepper, cooking oil, sugar, laundry detergent, or coffee/teabags. Washing up liquid and handsoap is provided.

"We had a wonderful week at Kilnary Cottage."
It was a wonderful, spacious cottage, which was beautifully maintained and had everything we needed. Despite being there in February, it was cosy and well heated. The property was in a great location for exploring Aberdeenshire and we would definitely recommend it.
-
"The Cottage was very comfortable and spacious, the underfloor heating was great and we didn't need to use the log burner."
Mattress in main bedroom was a bit hard for us and needs a blind on the on-suite bathroom window. We really enjoyed ourselves as we were there for a family wedding in Schivas Steading.

"Location of the cottage and cottage itself were absolutely amazing."
The cottage is nicely decorated, spacious, clean, well equipped. Yes there was no welcome pack but we always have our own supplies so not a big deal. The road to the cottage is a bit worn but again not something that could put us off, experienced much worse ones. Close enough to lovely beaches and there are many attractions from National Trust for Scotland and Historic Scotland to visit. Pitmedden Garden is within a walking distance and definitely worth visiting and so is Haddo House and their estate (not so close though) Lovely walking areas. Cafe 48 in Pitmedden serves really nice breakfast, with nice service - shame we only discovered it on our last day. When the weather is not that great please visit David Welch Winter Gardens in Aberdeen. Flowers breath-taking and the food in the café reasonably priced and delicious. Please be aware of the New Gate system for buses in Aberdeen as you may get yourself a fine. Seriously considering rebooking, the only thing is that we have been in the area so many times that we may book somewhere else in Scotland. Thank you for letting us stay in this lovely place.

"A wonderful cottage with fabulous views of the countryside and we loved looking out for hares and deer from the huge windows."
Very clean and well-equipped. A great base for exploring the area. Would definitely recommend.
-
"Cottage with view on the countryside."
Only a short walk away from Pitmedden garden. The house is well equiped, and the hosts are very friendly.
-
"Cottage was absolutely beautiful but there was no complimentary welcome pack ..."
Cottage was absolutely beautiful but there was no complimentary welcome pack such as tea and coffee after a long journey
-
"The cottage was amazing and everything perfect."
The only thing that could be improved is the road up to the cottage. It is in a very bad state.I now that its a farm and tractors go in and out but it really isn't great for your everyday family car
-
"There was no heating upon arrival."
Contacted owner and heating oil was delivered Monday morning. What we would have appreciated was a small welcome pack with grocery items eg milk, bread, tea, sugar. The cottage was quite isolated and had we not brought items with us we would have has to find a shop.Virtually all the cottages we've been to have left a few basic items. Also some garden furniture and a barbecue would have been good so we could sit outside and enjoy the sunny weather. Some minor points, heating controls: some simple instructions needed, hooks on backs of bedroom/bathroom doors. Plus points, cottage very comfortable and warm, quiet, spacious, beautiful views , well maintained. Lots to see and visit in the area. We would certainly come again.

"Kilnary Cottage is a lovely holiday retreat, nicely decorated and maintained."
Although we had mixed weather our accommodation had underfloor heating that kept us warm. There was a log burner but we didn't need to use it. We enjoyed watching the birds and wildlife and there are plenty of nice places to visit. Can certainly recommend Alan and Jean

-
"A fantastic holiday cottage that was truly a home from home."
During our stay there was nothing we thought was missing. The area is very picturesque with some stunning countryside and coastal scenery.

"Lovely house, recommended, will be back thank you"
-
"Fantastic cottage in a beautiful location."
Equipped to a very high standard with great underfloor heating throughout & a log burner Spacious & private with a good access road and within easy reach of lovely villages & the coast. The beds are extremely comfortable & the bathrooms modern with good showers and plentiful hot water. We will definitely stay here again

"A lovely cottage in a quiet location."
You need to go through the farm to get to the cottage. Furnished to a high standard and has everything you could need for your stay. Once the heating was fixed, which the owners sorted quickly, the stay improved
-
"In an excellent location and very isolated and quiet despite being next to the farm and owners."
The log burner was a bonus as it was a cold week with plenty of logs supplied from the farm. We were not bothered about lack of a welcome pack, took our own tea, coffee with us but a pint of milk in the fridge would have nice to make a cuppa as soon as we arrived after a 5 hour drive. Would have been longer had we not stopped over half way overnight from Yorkshire. Had to drive back to Pitmedden, another 3 miles round trip for milk. Otherwise an enjoyable week.
-
"We had a lovely stay, would love to come back."
The owners are friendly and so helpful. House is absolutely stunning.
-
"A delightful comfortable and warm cottage."
Wonderfully equiped for our every need and exceptionally clean. Really helpful notes on nearby attractions and practical info for shops take aways etc. We would most definitely like to come again.
-
"Very good cottage."
Spotlessly clean, well equipped. Comfortable beds, and furniture. Take note, the cottage is 500 metres away from a working farm, access is via the farm. The setting is faultless, with wonderful views. Every day we had close up views of deer, grouse, a lot of bird life. Shops, supermarkets and restaurants etc within 15 minute drive. Very peaceful.
-
"We had a great week."
The cottage was very spacious, clean and warm with everything we could have asked for. Location was great and the cottage is very well situated for exploring the area. There is so much to see - lots of national trust properties close by as well as prehistoric sites etc. Inverurie is a short drive away and also has a train station for exploring a bit further away. Would definitely recommend
-
"This was our second visit to this cottage and certainly won't be the last."
It is perfect and like being home from home. Immaculately clean and superb facilities. The location is superb and an excellent base to visit the local beaches and attractions. The people in the village of Pitmedden all very welcoming. Thanks for yet another great week, didn't want to leave.
-
"The only fault was there was no tea or coffee for a drink on arrival."
We had traveled a long way a d had to go out to the shop right away. Other than that it was the best Cottage we have ever rented.
-
"The cottage is beautiful."
It's quiet, clean and the owners are lovely and very helpful. It is close to supermarket, coffee shops etc. Many thanks for a wonderful stay.
-
"Your holiday cottage is a slice of heaven."
It was spotlessly clean and the facilties were phenomenal. We felt at ease from our arrival until our departure. We are huge animal lovers, therefore we loved driving past your cows every morning and were lucky enough to spot a deer or two in the gardens. Thank you for an amazing stay. We will definitely be returning.
-
"Absolutely perfect."

It was an ideal base to explore the surrounding areas. The cottage exceeded all expectations. Particularly enjoyed sitting i the conservatory watching the swallows and on occasions seeing the wild deer! It was immaculately clean and had all the home comforts, we will definitely be back!
