  • "Cannot fault this cosy well appointed cottage."

Perfectly placed near to all amenities and a short walk to the famous 17th century harbour it’s truly a home from home. Spotlessly clean, cosy and warm on arrival even with a wee welcome pack to get you started on your hols. Wish we could have stayed longer, can definitely recommend and will hopefully be back soon.

Thanks Wendy, really appreciate the feedback. Hopefully see you again soon. Thanks again Property Owner

  • "This was our 2nd year at the cottage and we love it."

It has a very welcoming cosy feel about it and although the weather wasn’t has good as last year there is central heating or if you wish a wood fire burner (wood provided) The garden at the rear of the cottage is absolutely beautiful and cared for and we saw lots of birds and some butterflies.Towels and bed linen are provided infact all you need to do is buy food. Everything else is catered for. I definitely would recommend this beautiful cottage in the heart of Portsoy which is near to shops and the harbour,it’s just perfect.

Hi Brenda, thanks for the positive feedback, we really appreciate it. We’re really happy that you had another great stay and enjoy the cottage as much as we do. Take care and hopefully see you back again in the future. Dave Property Owner

  • "We found this cottage to be of very high standard."

It lacked for nothing. It felt very welcoming and very comfortable. It has a lovely garden which we were able to use on a couple days as the weather was very kind to us. There was a folder which explained how everything worked eg washing machine, cooker + how to collect the key ect. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty supply of bathroom towels. Very well thought out all round.

Thanks Brenda, we’re glad you had such a nice time and appreciate the feedback. You’re welcome back anytime. Property Owner

  • "The holiday cottage is superb."

For the two of us that stayed there, the rooms are large and the facilities great. Everything was clean and the kitchen has everything. We wanted for nothing. The rear garden was lovely too. Nice to sit outside with a morning coffee. Parking was right outside the front door, so very easy to unload and load our cases and bags. This property is a two minute walk to the harbour and the same to the high street, great location. We will definitely book again.

Thanks Alan, great to get such positive feedback and you’re certainly welcome back anytime. Thanks again. Property Owner

  • "An absolutely beautiful and fully equipped cottage in Portsoy, a wonderful fishing village east of Elgin."

The cottage has everything you could wish for and things you didn't even know you needed! Very easy parking on a cul-de-sac, there's only Sally the next door neighbour who parks out there as well. Very easy 1 minute walk to a fab Chinese takeaway, Co-op, pub, bakers and the ice cream parlour! Another 5 minutes further on and you'll be at the harbour. By car, you're near to Banff, Cullen, Elgin, Fraserburgh, Peterhead, Aberdeen, Inverness and all surrounding attractions (Cawdor Castle, Brodie Castle, Fort George etc). I'd really recommend this lovely cottage and it's fantastic location.

Thanks Ailsa, so pleased you enjoyed your stay and glad you enjoyed the cottage and area as much as we do. You’re welcome back anytime. Property Owner

  • "This property has been finished and furnished to a very high standard and with great care."

Thought has gone into items that might be needed by guests. Not only the house but the garden is beautiful with two areas to sit and enjoy the sunshine. The folder left for guests with information regarding appliances is very straight forward and easy to follow. The log burner is an added bonus and very easy to use. We would seriously consider a return visit.

This wonderful holiday home benefits from a fabulous location close to the town’s local amenities and the beautiful coast as well as a welcoming interior completed by two well-appointed bedrooms; the perfect setting for families or friends looking to explore the wonders of the Scottish coast.

Cross the threshold into your new home-from-home and locate the living/dining room where you can unwind in front of the gentle warmth of the woodburning stove while the designated chef of the group cooks up a storm in the fully-equipped kitchen.

Gather the family around the dining table to tuck into their culinary creation and be sure to raise a toast to the cherished memories you have created so far; on sunny days why not step outside to the terraced garden and indulge in an alfresco affair as the sun sets over Portsoy.

When stars appear overhead head back inside to wash off the day’s adventures in the ground-floor bathroom before sloping off to sleep in one of two bedrooms; choose between a king-size and twin, whilst the snug can also accommodate two further guests.

During the day, venture into the heart of Portsoy where you can stock up on all of your self-catering essentials or enjoy a well-earned break from the kitchen at Station Hotel or head to the coast to enjoy evening drinks at The Shore Inn.

Head to the harbour to savour leisurely strolls in the refreshing sea air before discovering The Salmon Bothy Museum; those looking for something more adventurous can head to Sandend where you can take to the open water on paddle boards or surfboards, a unique way to admire views across the sea.

Follow the coast along to Banff where you can immerse yourself in the area’s history by joining the Banff and Macduff Heritage Trail, tour the breath-taking Georgian Duff House or cross the river to spend the day admiring aquatic life at the Macduff Marine Aquarium.

About the location

PORTSOY

Fordyce & Sandend 1 mile; Cullen 6 miles; Banff 8 miles.

Portsoy is a historic port situated mid-way between the towns of Cullen and Banff on the pretty Moray Firth coast and is one of the many atmospheric fishing ports scattered along this impressive stretch of the north east coastline of Scotland. Boasting two harbours, one old and one new and with excellent local facilities including hotels, pubs, and shops, Portsoy is a wonderful holiday destination as well as being near to the famous Malt Whisky Trail. The charm of Portsoy has led to it being used for filming multiple period series/films including Peaky Blinders and Whiskey Galore! The area is awash with quality golf courses with fabulous coastal views and the coastal path is perfect for walkers who want to enjoy the unspoilt beauty of the area and roam freely on its lovely beaches. A visit to the Salmon Bothy is a must to get a real feel of the interesting history of Portsoy and hear the story of the area as a trading, fishing, and smuggling port.
