  • "The property is comfortable and clean warm and cosy , makes a good base to explore the area , although it is on the edge of a housing estate it is relatively quiet."

The property is advertised to sleep 4 which I feel would be a squeeze, it’s perfect for 2 .We really enjoyed our stay .

Hi Lynn, thank you for your feedback. The property is advertised as sleeping four as there are two double bedrooms. The other properties in the row are all occupied by families, but I have to agree, the lounge area is small compared with our own home. We always felt that the house felt like a holiday home as it was quite different to our own home. It’s quaint construction with the garden overlooking the playing field and cathedral with the advantage of a downstairs WC, always makes us feel like we are on holiday. As you pointed out it is a great base if exploring the vast interesting area. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay and of course you would be welcome back at any time. Thank you for choosing our little house. Property Owner

  • "Lovely comfy property, very clean, quiet estate."

Short walk to town centre. Designated parking space was very useful. There was a lot of kitchen equipment, meaning it was difficult to find enough storage space for our own food. It was good to have a large fridge/freezer. We couldn’t find information about bin collection day, but spotted when neighbours put theirs out. Couldn’t get washing machine to work as instructions incomplete, so rang owner to find out. We do not have sky at home, and there were no instructions. Took a couple of days to work out how to use the various remotes, but never managed to get tv in bedroom to work. Enjoyed our stay very much, loved visiting the coastal villages and lovely beaches. Enjoyed the lack of traffic, easy and free parking, and lots of loos! Elgin cathedral very interesting. Would like to explore more of this coastline.

Hi Christine, we are glad you enjoyed your stay and I will certainly look at the points you have raised. There is no sky in the property and the sky box only serves as an aerial. I had laminated details about the bins on the side of the cupboard, but it may be that a previous guest had removed it. I am up myself next week, so will make sure all points are addressed. I had left two cupboards totally empty for visitors items, but again it may be that items had been rehoused. I will ask the cleaner to check in future that plenty of space is left. I appreciate your constructive comments and this aids me to offer a great stay. You would be welcome back at any time. Thank you for choosing our little house. Property Owner

Every little thing had been thought of and provided. The house was spotless and so comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are already planning to book again for next year. Elgin is a good base for touring the local area as it’s central to many places and there is also a good train line for the days you want to give the car a rest.

  • "House clean, modern, quiet."

Beds were double (not king) and one room left very small space at foot of bed to get passed. We weren’t needing to use it. Abundance of dishes which left very little space for any foodstuffs taken. Apart from that - no issues!!

Dear Elizabeth, Thank you for leaving your feedback. I was disappointed to read your comments, regarding the beds as they are not advertised as kingsize and the space at the foot of the bed was restricted by the size of the room as there was no other way to position a double bed. I have always received positive comments about the well equipped kitchen and always felt that at least one clear base cupboard was adequate for any visitor. When I am next up I will check to make sure that there is plenty of space for visitors food items. I hope this did not detract from you enjoying your stay. Property Owner

It did rain on the Wednesday but we were lucky in that it remained dry during the period of our days visits. The location of the accommodation is well situated for a tour round the area though some sites we visited entailed quite a long drive however that was of our choosing. All in all Elgin was a good base.

Once Scotland’s smallest city, the town of Elgin now boasts its own football team, and still holds its bustling atmosphere! It is the administrative capital of Morayshire and a place with many attractions in an Area of Outstanding Beauty. Close to the north east coast of Scotland with its selection of sandy beaches, golf courses and atmospheric fishing villages, Elgin has a lot to offer in terms of history and visitor attractions. Situated along the banks of the River Lossie the town has grown and flourished and has grand stone buildings and of course the famous cathedral which dates back to the 13th century. Other places of interest in the area include many distilleries, Elgin Museum and Baxters of Fochabers. For walkers, the Speyside Way footpath provides a wonderful network of paths with fantastic sea views and wildlife.
