  • "Clyne Cottage is perfect for a break in Elgin."

It is centrally located being walking distance from the town and Coopers Park yet quiet and peaceful for a good night’s sleep. The Cottage was spotlessly clean with every attention to detail prevailing. There was a generous welcome pack provided. Thank you! The kitchen was well equipped. It was great to have an enclosed garden for my dog. We both enjoyed the log fire! The rain shower was a fabulous bonus! Thank you Fiona and Dave for a fabulous stay!

We book somewhere every year and this has to be the best so far in terms of how much you get for your money. The place was presented immaculately and everything you could need is there. You don’t even have to run to the shops as soon as you get there as basic things such as cling film, kitchen roll, foil, washing up liquid, bin bags, bread, milk, butter, tea coffee biscuits and toilet paper are there already. There is a lovely enclosed garden with a view, a log burner, coffee machine, clean towels. Really couldn’t fault it at all. Definitely a rare find.

Thankyou for your review - we are delighted to read that you enjoyed the cottage so much and that it stands up well against other accommodation. we would love to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

Excellent pet friendly clean cottage which we would hope to visit again Lovely view of the city from the cottage and fenced garden No dishwasher but this was not a problem as kitchen had all facilities we required Another seat in lounge would have been welcome Bedrooms and bathroom were of a high standard The welcome pack was much appreciated and the communications from the owner were excellent

Thankyou for your review - we do understand that additional seating would be desired by some guests. It’s a bit tricky to fit it in sympathetically without cluttering the lounge which is why we added the window seat. Thankyou again for staying with us and we would love to welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

Location was very good, quiet but within a 5 minute stroll to the amenities. Shops bars restaurants etc. 5 minute stroll to a lovely park - we travelled with a dog. Completely safe and enclosed garden with lovely rustic furniture. Cottage itself was immaculately clean, very well cared for and extremely well equipped. Cosy and warm. We wanted for absolutely nothing. Neighbours and locals very friendly. Although we didn't meet our hosts they made sure we had everything we needed, and were very welcoming and friendly. Elgin itself is a really interesting place with plenty of history. Further afield we found lovely coastal villages and hamlets. All in all one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in and we have been self catering for many years. Highly recommended.

The location is beautiful and peaceful, with a lovely park a short walking distance away. Even though it is in the town centre, noise is not an issue and as it is situated on a quiet street, there is plenty of parking available. The cottage itself has everything you could need for your stay, and more. Fiona gave us a warm welcome and checked in on us via text message during our stay. The little extras were really appreciated after a long journey. We felt settled instantly, even my dog settled quickly, as the cottage feels really homely. We will definitely book here again if we find ourselves back in this area of Scotland and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for accommodation in the Moray area.

Property is very clean, comfortable and has everything you would need for your stay. Great location with the town centre, Cooper Park and Abbey all within a short walk. Plenty of on street parking outside the property. Elgin is a great base for exploring Moray. I've rented many holiday properties and the one thing that generally lets most of them down is the comfort of the matress (I'm usually glad to get home to have a good nights sleep!). This is not the case at Clyne Cottage, the matress was really good and I slept so well. Garden is great and is a sun trap even on the colder days. Plenty of seating and lovely friendly neighbours. I'll definately be back at some point, might even take my wife next time!

The property

The charming town of Elgin, once known as Scotland's smallest city, is home to the semi-detached Clyne Cottage.

This pet-friendly, former coach house is a great base for a family retreat to this part of Scotland, within easy reach of the north east coastline.

You are greeted to the property with roadside parking before you step down into the enclosed garden with lawn and a patio boasting furniture so you can enjoy a bottle of wine as you admire the views over the town.

Stepping into the property there is a contemporary kitchen to your left, with everything you need to enjoy a self-catering stay.

Moving into the living/dining room, there is a dining table so you can indulge in a home-cooked meal with your loved ones or cuddle up on the sofa as you flick on the Sky TV and the warming woodburning stove.

When the evening draws to a close, climb upstairs to one of the two bedrooms, a king-size and a twin which offers flexible sleeping arrangements.

Both bedrooms have excellent storage space with a mirrored wardrobe and are complimented by a bathroom.

Elgin has plenty of shops, bars and eateries to suit all tastes, whether you fancy an evening out or buying essentials for an evening in, it is also home to a history museum, a motor museum, a train station and some wonderful gardens and parks which make for a lovely picnic spot.

Head five miles towards the north east coast to enjoy the sandy beach of Lossiemouth, as well as the shoreside golf course, the fisheries museum, the thriving marina and the nearby Covesea Lighthouse with its Royal Navy and Royal Air Force Heritage Centre.

Also, in the area you can visit many distilleries including Avva Scottish Gin and Glen Moray, enjoy a picnic at the beautiful Lin Falls, get up close with the animals at the Speyside Falconry and take a walk around the dog friendly paths or the 12th century ruins of Duffus Castle.

There is lots of exciting things to see and do, and with Clyne Cottage as your base, you won't miss any of it.
