The house might date back to the early 19th century but the entertainment is bang up to date with a dedicated games room with a table tennis table and a wonderful cinema room.
By the time night falls you’ll be wanting to know where you are going to sleep and there is certainly no shortage of bedrooms and all are wonderfully appointed so choosing one will be hard though the king-size with the four-poster bed is always popular!
Stepping outside Cortes House and the grounds are as impressive as the interior with sweeping lawns, well-maintained shrubberies and an attractive patio area all providing the ideal location for happy hours spent alfresco.
There is even an obstacle course for the kids (and big kids!).
It will be hard to leave Cortes House but there is so much to see and do in the region it would be a shame not to explore.
There are some wonderful coastline and beaches to explore just a short distance away and the picturesque seaside town of Fraserburgh is just a short drive and has loads to offer its visitors including shops, bars and restaurants, an award-winning beach and a popular 18-hole golf course.
The area is steeped in history with ‘Cortes’ actually a Celtic word for circle and there are loads of stone circles worth discovering some of which date back to the Bronze Age.
Check out Memsie and Strichen which both boast fine examples of Celtic history and are a short drive from Cortes House.
Aberdeen is not far and is a great place for a day trip with sites of historical interest and loads of shops perfect for picking up gifts to take home to loved ones.
