Situated on the seafront overlooking the estuary and spectacular beach of Cruden Bay in Aberdeenshire, rests this beautifully restored, single-storey cottage.

The Salmon Bothy offers intimate and inspiring views of the sea, its wildlife and surrounding environs all year round - whichever season you decide to enjoy.

The Salmon Bothy originally built in 1840 within the Conservation Area of Port Erroll, offers uninterrupted panoramic views of the beautiful bay, 2 miles of beach, and a wide array of sea birds at play in the estuary. This pleasant holiday home is idyllic for a family or six friends.

Be greeted by off-road parking and the splendid views of the coast and move your luggage inside with ease.

Step into the porch to kick off your shoes before entering the open-plan living space and enjoy the warmth from the underfloor heating.

Beautifully presented in neutral tones and warm browns.

Unwind on the plush sofa with a hot chocolate and flicker through the TV as the woodburning stove crackles nearby.

Rustle up tasty treats in the spacious kitchen area with an oven, grill and hobs to assist you and then gather around the rustic old dining table to enjoy hearty meals.

On warm evenings, throw open the patio doors and have an alfresco affair on the outdoor furniture, with a barbecue area available for you to use with your own disposable barbecue trays for alternative cooking arrangements with stunning views to be enjoyed while you cook.

As the sun begins to set, retreat inside to choose between three lovely double bedrooms, all with storage, one with King Size Bed and en-suite bath for a leisurely soak.

Awaken with a rinse in the wet room before savouring a steaming cup of coffee on the front patio listening to the sound of the crashing waves as you watch seabirds gather in the estuary.

As the seasons change wildlife lovers will be able to view trout jumping in the estuary on front of the patio, the occasional seal or dolphin either swimming past or lounging on the beach below the garden when the tide is out, and regularly view a vast array of sea birds gathering in the estuary to feed and enjoy the fresh water drifting down the Water of Cruden.

(Various Gulls, Oystercatchers, Sandpipers, Sanderlings, Guillemots, Cormorants, Shags and the odd Herron fishing on the rocks).

This all happens literally within meters of the kitchen window.

Among the many pleasures to be enjoyed locally is simply walking through Port Erroll Conservation Village to the local hotel or Pub (5 mins walk), then warmed by a glass of wine enjoy the lamplit return journey to The Bothy in the quiet of the evening!
