  • "Lovely clean, warm and comfortable house, beautiful quiet setting, my brothers ..."

Lovely clean, warm and comfortable house, beautiful quiet setting, my brothers dog stayed with us for a few days and he enjoyed the big garden with all the new smells, plenty of places to go on walks right from the front door, we saw a gold crest for the first time on the trees outside the house, would definitely stay again

  • "For the cost of the property we were dissappointed, could not use bath as plug was defective, not allowed to remove shower head from its cradle to shower properly, mattress in main bedroom quite uncomfortable as were the sofas."

Garden was only enclosed on two sides one side was open into forest, river and pond regularly used by the outdoor centre next door. Property described as very quiet and private this was not so, people feeding horses out front a few times a day acceptable but the noise from the large groups of youngsters/people from the outdoor centre that were using the pond etc. right next to the open garden, spent alot of time watching my dog when outside because she is only a pup 12 months and was terrified of her following the voices of the youngsters and getting lost in the forest (she loves kids/missed our grandkids) we wrongly assumed from the photos of the property that the garden ideal for dogs was enclosed. We would not stay there again but the property was in a lovely setting and area, we loved Aviemore area, bungalow was well equiped, clean and warm and probably more suited to younger people into hiking etc

Our bath is fully functional. Simply turn the wheel by the taps to secure the plug. We make it very clear to all our guests via email prior to their visit that we can help with any problems at any time. Property Owner

L and we enjoyed the birds and other wildlife that visited every day/night. The cottage was clean, warm, comfortable and spacious for the two of us. The welcome pack of Scottish tea, coffee and tablet was a lovely touch. Our only gripe was the poor water pressure in the shower but that's probably not something easily fixed and certainly wouldn't put us off staying there again!

What a fantastic location - so peaceful with just the sound of the river Feshie and birds. The cottage was perfect for myself, hubby and 2 spaniels, really well equipped (for humans and dogs!), very comfortable and relaxing with wonderful large windows to watch the birds on the feeder, deer and hares in the field. Plenty of great walks on the doorstep, easy access to longer walks into Glen Feshie, Loch an Eilean (and many more) and only a short drive to Aviemore, Rothiemurchus and the Cairngorm Ski Centre. Plenty of swimming opportunities too in nearby rivers and lochs! Lovely welcome pack of Highland blend tea bags, fresh coffee and delicious fudge on arrival, extra clean sets of bedding and spare towels. In our 15 years of coming up to stay in the Cairngorms, this has been our favourite - can't believe we didn't find you sooner! Thank you for a fantastic 2 weeks, we will be back.

It was spotless and warm, well equipped with many new additions since our previous visit two years previously. Despite its isolation the house is conveniently placed for visiting the whole Cairngorm region and is only 10 minutes drive from the Highland Wildlife park and 40 minutes from Inverness. Great house set in a great location (Aviemore 10 minutes drive, Inverness 40). Lovely riverside walks right from your door and other more challenging walks via the surrounding forests and hills close by. Lots of wildlife around including hare, deer, squirrels and raptors. The house has everything you need (wifi works fine but no mobile service down at the house). Overall, Tearlach is ideal for a family with a dog or two - the short track down is not a problem and I have a small VW. It is close to an outdoor centre but that was shut when we visited so it was very quiet.

  • "The cottage is wonderfully remote but finding it was not helped by the property directions which begin ‘From the A9 turn off into the village of Kincraig."

..’ The A9 is a busy dual carriageway at his point so if arriving from the South vehicles need to leave just after Kingussie turning onto the B9152 which runs parallel with the A9 and Kincraig is on this road. Tigh An Tearlach is a surprisingly spacious bungalow. It was warm and comfortable and over the week we came to love the place. One downside was that the bath taps didn’t function but we noticed a spare in the utility room so this is clearly in hand. The shower worked well. The river Feshie is 5 minutes walk away and there are many signed woodland walks within a few miles. Native wildlife abounds and the Highland Wildlife park is only 10-15 minutes away by car, making an annual pass very good value, particularly as it also allows unlimited visits to Edinburgh and a number of other Zoos around the UK. We missed the crowds by having 3 early morning visits and had wonderful quiet views of the animals including, of course, Hamish, the young Polar Bear!
