"Absolutely fantastic property."
Home from home. Everything you need was there. Welcome pack was so thoughtful, and homemade shortbread was amazing. Location was excellent. We all had a fantastic time and will definitely be back.

"We have just returned from our first visit to Dunstaffanage and I’m sure it won’t be our last."
Perfect size for our family and well equipped. The grounds are ideal for relaxation and feeling at home. Very well located to the high street and the woods for exploring. We all loved our stay, thank you!
-
"Excellent situation, beautiful cottage every amenity catered for, a very lovely welcome pack."
The cottage is set in a fabulous garden. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return again.

"We had a very enjoyable week here in the cottage which is under a 10 min walk to the town centre."
Facilities were good and spacious with plenty of room to park your car - a television in the bedroom would have been nice but they do seem to be something of a rarity in holiday lets. The woods at the back are a real joy with nice walks down to the river. We were very lucky to see the red squirrels in the garden and even took some photos of them. Eateries for the half discerning appeared to be scarce in Grantown but we did enjoy an evening meal at the Speyside Hotel, otherwise ate in. The town does have a decent Co -op and in Nairn there is an excellent Sainsburys. Grantown is an excellent location to visit the surrounding area - we went to Balmoral (Ballater is a lovely village), Cawdor, Urqhart Castle (on Loch Ness) and above all the wonderful Ballindalloch Castle & Gardens. Can thoroughly recommend a stay at Dunstaffnage Cottage.

Warm, clean and welcoming. Quiet and comfortable. Easy walk to town

"We had a very comfortable stay at Dunstaffnage Cottage."
There was plenty of space for the 4 of us, our 2 teenagers were very happy to have large bedrooms and ensuites to themselves upstairs! The cottage is very well equipped and in beautiful surroundings. Plenty to do in the area, Grantown is a short 10 minute walk and has a big Co-op and various pubs/takeaways. We were very grateful for the welcome gifts of milk, biscuits and wine, thank you!

"We loved our stay at Dunnstaffnage Cottage."
It was ideally located, close enough to amenities and yet enconsced away giving adequate privacy and quiet time. The Cottage itself was charming, well appointed with themed bedrooms that added to the joy and excitement of my children. And finally, the hosts, Mr and Mrs. McInnes were fabulous, warm, accommodating and always available to help. I would recommend this place to anyone with a family planning a vacation here.
-
"Absolutely delightful host."
The cottage is spacious with all amenities and very, very comfortable. We loved the beautiful location. The grounds of the cottage are lovely and we had a wonderful time walking through the woods behind the property.

"A lovely house in a great area."
It’s within easy walking distance of the centre of the picturesque little town of Grantown on Spey but also on the edge of Anagach Woods, a pine forest that surrounds the town. The woods are great for morning and evening walks. You can easily walk to and along the majestic River Spey. There are indeed loads of great walks and bike rides on the doorstep, but you’re also close to the Cairngorms, the Highland Folk Museum and much more. I made a couple of little videos about the location, one about the woods: https://youtu.be/hyqMqkB8qY0?si=DOE8zEaYHW19gBRO And one about the town: https://www.instagram.com/reel/CyAcmdXoA0S/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== Our only pointer for improvement would be the cooking equipment in the kitchen. There are few sharp knives and we could find no scales. So if this would be important to you, best to bring your own.

"We had a great stay, everything was clean and convenient."
The hosts were very nice and friendly. Each bedroom has their own private bathroom, and the garden area leads directly into the woods to the rear, allowing easy access for walkers and cyclists. We can’t recommend it highly enough.

"We booked this holiday for location and because it had a pod in the garden for the sunny days to sit in and listen to music and relax after a day of exploring but on arrival was told the pod isn't for our use it's only for theirs which we wasn't happy about as it shows it on the website and i also asked the agent if it was included in our holiday and was told yes."
The people that own the house are absolutely lovely and very friendly and always spoke to us.
The Pod is not part of the cottage let as Sykes have been informed. Sykes have been asked to remove this on their website. Sorry for your upset. I will ask Sykes again to remove the Pod from there website. Regards, Sandy. Property Owner

"We were warmly welcomed and looked after by owners Lorraine and Sandy."
The cottage was cosy and comfortable and we enjoyed our time there. The town of Grantown on Spey is small but has a good COOP store and a good number of local shops and places to drink and dine. The town is also central in an area where there are lots of activities and pastimes to follow. There are also lots of places to visit on days out, such as castles and distilleries and Landmark adventure park. Walks in the Cairngorms and experiencing the reopened funicular railway were also fun. So, lots to do in this area. We had a really enjoyable holiday.

"We had a lovely 2 weeks at the property."
Our hosts were very welcoming, the welcome pack of milk, shortbread and prosecco was a lovely touch as well as the Easter eggs for the kids. Garden was great for kids, they especially loved playing on the trampoline and watching the ducks on the pond! The house is in a lovely quite spot but still close to town. The plot backs onto woodland, with a private access gate into the woods which are fantastic for bikes of all abilities from toddler balance bikes to experienced mountain bikers. We also saw a Red Squirrel very close by and a Roe Deer and Heron at the nearby Pond at dusk. The beds were very comfortable and the house was plenty warm enough, the storage heaters worked well once you had them set to the right level. The house was well presented, although the edges of carpets needed a deeper clean and we found quite a few cobwebs around about. A bigger clothes airer would also have been useful, but clothes did dry quickly. There was no freezer in the kitchen (which we knew from the listing) but we were pleasantly surprised to find a fridge freezer in the storage shed right outside which was great. Couple of things were lacking from the kitchen that would have been useful - a cheese grater, more teaspoons, baking trays for oven and pint glasses. We also found the kitchen tap very splashy!
We have put in 12 more tee spoons ,6 pint glasses, cheese grater and 2 more baking trays. The plumber has checked the kitchen tap to stop it splashing. Thank you for your comments. Regards Sandy. Property Owner

"It was a fantastic stay, little touches made such a difference like having the heating on when we arrived, welcome biscuits, and gifts of chocolate for the kids."
Lovely spacious cottage, extremely clean, and so nicely located to visit beautiful places. The children loved the garden and play area. Free WiFi was very helpful.

"We had a wonderful week in Scotland."
Dunstaffnage Cottage was a perfect base for lots of day trips. Sandy’s communication was excellent, and the cottage had everything we needed. The clearing of snow on (even) the side roads was fantastic- ensuring continued access to Aviemore & The Lecht for skiing. A long day driving to John O’Groats & Dunnets Head enabled us to add another tick to our bucket list - and a faint shimmer of the northern lights, from the cottage, was fab

"Dunstaffnage cottage is a lovely cosy place with a well-equipped kitchen."
It is in a superb location on the edge of the woods, and within 5 mins walking into Grantown centre. The cottage was very warm even in January. We didn't have children with us, but it would be perfect for children as it is in the grounds of a large house with lots of garden to explore, and playgrounds. We had a lovely welcome with a few goodies in the fridge. My only negative point is that the beds are a little tired and could do with revamping with new mattresses and pillows. However, I would definitely come back again.
Thank you for your comments, we have now replaced the bedding mattresses and pillows. Property Owner

"A very clean, tidy, spacious “cottage” that was very warm even in mid-January."
The owners who are very friendly and helpful appear to have thought of almost everything to make a stay very pleasant indeed. The location is quiet and the grounds of the main house offer attractive views and interesting wildlife. Easy access to church wood immediately behind the cottage is a bonus for nature lovers. Grantown with its facilities is just a short walk away. Will definitely return.
-
"This is my 5th stay at this cottage."
My family and I absolutely love staying here. The cottage is so clean and spacious. It is very well equipped with everything that you need. It feels so much like being in your own home. Local amenities are very accessible. There are restaurants and takeaways. The owners are so friendly and always make sure you are comfortable and are always there if you need anything. There are plenty of things to do in and around Grantown on Spey. I would highly recommend this cottage. I will definitely be coming back to stay here again.
-

The cottage was like home from home, comfortable & very well equipped. The location is perfect for local walks & amenities and for touring the region. We would definitely recommend this cottage & hope to stay there again sometime soon.

"This wonderful cottage is very spacious and in superb large grounds within a 10 minute walk of the town centre, so providing excellent accommodation for the 4 of us to relax in."
The cottage is in an ideal location for walking locally and seeing local attractions. We had a very enjoyable trip on the Strathspey steam railway as well as lovely walks around Loch Morlich, Loch Garten and Loch Mallachie. Ballindalloch Castle is also within easy reach and a superb place to spend your day.
-
"We had a wonderful week here, helped by the amazing weather!"
The cottage is perfect, clean and well equipped and we loved the beautiful grounds and the fact it was easy walking distance to the town. The owners are on site, but very discreet and there if you need them, we enjoyed meeting them very much. There is no doubt we will be back, and after renting holiday homes in many countries, this staycation exceeded our expectations!

"We had a wonderful weeks holiday here."
Grantown is a lovely place to spend a relaxing week walking and visiting the local attractions. Dunstaffnage Cottage is a lovely place to stay. The owners, who live next door, were very friendly and helpful, pity the weather didn't allow us to maje full use of the fabulous grounds.
-

"We had a great stay in Grantown-on- Spey!"
The cottage was very cosy and we had three bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms (we were five, two couples and one single). The kitchen was very nice and had all that you needed. We also got a complimentary milk and bottle of wine, which was very thoughtful, thanks! All in all a lovley stay and the very friendly owners lived across the yard in the main house. I will highly recommend this property, very good value for your money! Torbjorn from Sweden

"This was a delightful cottage in a fantastic location."
The cottage was warm with a great kitchen area and lovely en-suite bedrooms. It was close to the town and shops which was very welcome after a day out walking. We loved being able to walk from the garden into the woods. Far exceeded our expectations.
-
"Cottage was lovely."
The grounds were beautiful and the town had a nice little Co-Op and a terrific butcher. we had a number of "home-cooked" meals just so we could try some of the butcher's tasty entrees. The local bookstore was also a great place to stop and chat to the owner about books and authors. Perfect for sightseeing in and around the village. it would have been a bonus if there had been some bathroom cleaning supplies in the cottage .and a second fry pan would have been useful as well.
-
"Really nice place to stay the house has everything you will need for your stay, WIFI is a real bonus."
Grantown is a great base to explore from. We will be going back next year without a doubt. The high street has lots of places to eat and the co-op is well stocked
-
"The cottage far exceeded our expectations only wish we could of stayed longer."
The garden and play area where perfect for our young grandson. It was less than a hundred yards to the path through the surrounding woodland complete with its deer, red squirrels etc. If you haven't been to Grantown, go and this is the perfect place to stay, we are already making plans to go again.

"Grantown was beautiful."
And the cottage just made our trip that much more enjoyable. Free wifi, washing machine and separate baths were much needed conveniences. Couldn't have asked for more. We traveled east and west so Grantown was a perfect spot. Would live there if I could.
