  • "Cosy, spacious cottage in a well situated location."

The owner, Jenny, greeted us on arrival and gave many 'top tips' about the area. I happily cycled and walked many miles locally on the Speyside Way, as well as further afield, while the others in my party enjoyed distillery tours and tastings... perfect! Hope to return in the future as we had a brilliant time!

  • "My partner and I had a lovely week staying at Bogairn."

The house was exactly as shown in the photos and immediately felt like home. Jenny, one of the owners, greeted us upon our arrival with a warm welcome. She also popped by later in the week to ensure all was well. The property was very clean and well maintained. It is ideally situated in a quiet location, but not far from things to do. We enjoyed it so much, that we hope to return in the future. Jacqui Connelly & Craig Simpson

The cottage was comfortable and had beautiful views and the sunset was amazing. It was an ideal base for visiting attractions in the area both those close and further afield. It was listed that there was a washer /dryer but only a washing machine was there. Fortunately there was a washing line and the weather proved to be kind during our stay. There was no welcome pack so ensure that you have provisions with you upon arrival, there is a small supermarket in the town about 2 miles away. We would recommend this cottage.

  • "First the pros: the cottage itself was clean and tidy."

It was certainly large enough for the four of us, all adults. It was decorated very nicely. The views were lovely. It was perfectly situated to allow tours of distilleries and the cooperage and Walkers cookie outlet. Cons: There wasn’t so much as a tea bag for us when we arrived. We are used to having at least a few provisions for the first morning in a place because we can’t be expected to come with food after just flying in for 10 hours. But there was nothing. We drove to several places in town hoping to get some dinner but everywhere was booked solid. We ended up driving to Elgin when a google search told us there was a grocery store there and we ate at a restaurant there. It was after 9:00 when we finally had something to eat. The tv didn’t work for our entire stay. With some pretty nasty weather on a few days we were stuck in the cottage with no tv and no instructions were left to explain how to make it work. Speaking of instructions , there were NO instructions of any kind for anything, except detailed instructions for how to clean up and leave the cottage when we left. We stumbled through the use of the washing machine, and we were told not to use the dryer portion of the machine and we were advised we could hang the clothes outside on the line but we only had one full day without rain and that day had gale force winds; we couldn’t get the radiator in the kitchen/dining room to come on (kind of chilly in the morning); the towels were in shreds and were so stiff they were uncomfortable to use; the beds were hard. Usually I don’t care about the softness or firmness of the beds because I can pretty much sleep on anything but these beds were HARD. It’s disappointing that our stay was challenging and we felt like we were not terribly important. I think with a bit of attention to the outlined problems this could be a really nice place to rent.

  • "What a lovely holiday."

Bogairn had everything we needed for our party of four. The cottage was spacious and cosy, well kept and very clean. Beds were comfortable with plenty of storage space and the kitchen was well equipped with a small seating area. It was too cold to use the sun room but I’m sure it would be nice to sit in during the warmer months. The hosts were friendly, provided suggestions about where to visit and even drove my car out the drive when I couldn’t negotiate the snow. Thank you! We all had a lovely time, particularly my little girl, and we look forward to returning in the not too distant future.

Heating and hot water were always available. We cooked and ate in every night due to the Coronavirus and were short of no equipment or dishes. The views are amazing and the cottage has local walks and is close enough to the coast for daily visits. Ballindalloch Castle Gardens are very close and also well worth a visit. The Co-op in Aberlour is 5 minutes drive away and is well stocked for any essentials. We highly recommend this cottage and hope to return again in the future.

The cottage was incredibly spacious but cosy at the same time. The bed was the comfiest we've ever slept in on holiday. Lovely views from all rooms. Lots to do nearby and surrounding areas. We seen deer within the grounds at the cottage, dolphins in Spey Bay and climbed a mountain, what a holiday to remember. Climbing Mount Benrinnes highly recommended, very liberating! Aberlour is 2 miles away and a lovely relaxing village with several shops worth a visit. A walk along the River Spey also highly recommended. The directions to the cottage once in the area from the owner were perfect - the ones from Sykes were unfortunately not clear enough.

Aberlour the nearest small village as all the shops you need, from and a number of places to eat, although I cannot recommend the chip shop on our visit it was not good to Walker Short bread factory with the factory shop, Not forgetting the CO-OP. If you like your food I can recommend The Firth Hotel and Restaurant at Lossiemouth nice food a plenty of it . All in all this part of Scotland is great for a relaxing holiday preferably with more than one driver so the delights of the whisky trail can be truly appreciated

  • "The cottage was lovely and homely, exactly as it was advertised."

The location was beautiful but very isolated - definitely need a car to travel to and from. The facilities are exactly as listed. Except, the tap water turned my daughter's hair green (she's naturally blond), but its washed out now that we're back home no problem; the tap water tastes a bit odd, but is fine once boiled. The only noticable daily utility not provided was a hair dryer. Also, the washing machine dryer combination takes over 10 hours to wash anything; don't bother washing the towels or linen, new ones are provided by the landlord weekly (which we didn't realise). But, its a really great cottage and provides everything it claims to have. My son really enjoyed having a bath everyday, and my daughter loved to sit and write in the conservatory. The conservatory is definitely the best room in the bungalow as it's light and airy with a beautiful mountain view.
