  • "We had arrived at the place after a 5½ drive, un loaded the car, and then familiarise ourself with the property."

Found the kitchen to be a horrible dirty place, with Microwave Dirty, Oven Dirty, Dishwasher Dirty, utensils dirty. Gravy Jug was disgusting, all cupboards dirty, floor dirty, with a tear init. So spent 1hr deep cleaning. Shower room, well. The area and master bedroom smelt damp, mould on floor, shower door, walls, cracked tiles, human hair on the door!, towel rail rusty beyond acceptable, damp marks on 3 Walls on bedroom. Garden still had dog mess from previous amongst uncut grass. Bedroom door doesn't work, so that wasn't fixed. We sent red face feed back to Sykes, as not sure we would call the owner to say that this place is so much worse than our own house. Emailed Sykes Sunday morning, and we left Monday. Had no feed back even when we told owner that we had left. Had to call Sykes Friday, and now owner thinks it's fine not to reimburse! Won't use again!

  • "We enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable."

We did messaged Lorraine about some repairs needed at the property and we hope that they were completed. Our bedroom door latch wasn't working properly and we had to force the door open and were reluctant to close the door when we were inside incase we were trapped. The washer door cat h needed to be bashed for the cycle to work. Inside of oven had to be cleaned as very greasy. Kitchen refuse bin lid wouldn't close. We kept it closed by putting our first aid kit on top. Otherwise it was wonderful. She shower was superb. We loved the Belfast sink set up outside for rinsing off the dogs. Something we intend to copy at home. Loved the hot tub and the extremely secure back garden. The enjoyed their daily walks around the harbour. Tha k you for the great holiday.

The kitchen is very spacious with table and chairs and an area with a sofa and TV. The open fire was a big hit, we toasted bread on it just like we did in our childhood. The hot tub was a nice luxury and the garden was very secure and larger than anticipated. We will definitely return and would highly recommend.

  • "Superb holiday cottage in a good location for exploring Anglesey."

Had everything we could possibly need and more. Hot tub was a big hit that we used most evenings. Just a couple of minor niggles but nothing we couldn’t deal with. The vacuum was full and required emptying before use and there was a dirty grill pan left in the top oven by previous holidaymakers.

  • "Amazing cottage."

There is just about everything needed, including a sewing kit! It is just such a homely, comfortable cottage and we had the best time. It’s a good location for strolls around the port and the beaches aren’t far away. It’s also within a half hour drive to zipworld and the main supermarkets. The area is quiet and peaceful and the people are really friendly. I have no negatives or criticisms of the cottage or the area. Our puppies loved the cottage too, particularly the garden.

  • "There was not enough information provided which is usually provided in a dedicated folder."

All there was were a series of booklets about appliances. The info on recycling was nil. The recycling boxes all surrounding properties had were not present in the property. This meant that everything had to be put in together which is what not what you are encouraged to do. The bedroom at the front is damp. A very strong smell of damp was present throughout despite having a window open some of the time. I suspect it is coming from the chimney which opens directly into the room. This was the only room suffering this problem. Clients suffering from asthma could have it triggered by this.

Hi Janet. Thanks for the feedback. Sadly the local council do not allow us to retain the recycling facility when we are moved to business rates. We have to seek private waste collection where everything goes in 1 bin. Feels like a miss by the council and hopefully that will change in the future. There is a recycling area down the road. I will have the location added to the information booklet. We have had a PIV ventilation system installed to help with air circulation and damp suppression. Property Owner

  • "Fortunately we worked out that the "electric hob" was in fact an induction hob."

I have a pacemaker and need to stay 24 inches away from an induction hob when it is working. There was no information in the "instruction" folder about the type of hob it was. This proved to be quite inconvenient and potentially life threatening for me, I am not being overly dramatic. The mattress protector in bedroom near bathroom was stained. Skirting boards and door panels not been cleaned for months.

Thank you for your feedback. The owner was unaware that an induction hob can cause issues for someone with a pacemaker. We have changed the descriptions of the hob on the website to reflect your feedback, and we appreciate your comments. We are sorry the cleaning was not up to standard, and this has been passed on to the cleaning staff. We hope you had a lovely stay otherwise. Property Owner

Hot tub was an amazing touch of luxury making the holiday extra special for daughter's 21st. Would recommend and go again. Beautiful clifftop walks in both directions from the port which I enjoyed and lovely take-aways from the village. We especially enjoyed brunch at Skyes, and took our fish and chips to eat on the benches at Bull Bay.

  • "The cottage is very nice and comfortable."

Some lights didn't work and the last holiday makers rubbish hadn't been collected which had blown in the wind and my dog ate some waste food. It also meant there was nowhere for our rubbish to be deposited. The hot tub was a nice addition but not very hot, also its very far away from the door so quite a walk when it's colder weather. There's only really one double bedroom to use because one smells very madly of damp.

Thanks for the feedback and bringing the rubbish issue to our attention. This was sorted immediately and a process put in place to ensure it is not repeated (the local council only empties the black bins every 3 weeks, a change we were unaware of). The Hot Tub temperature was set by the installer when it was delivered last June. We had not received feedback about a damp issue before but as it is a stone cottage with double glazing and central heating if ventilation is sub optimal by having all windows and doors shut I can see how that may arise. We have had the room deep cleaned and a Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) system installed in December 2022. Since installation no such issues have been reported by residents or the cleaning service. Cleanliness was good, but it could do with some areas having a deep clean ie behind the TV in the bedroom. I would like to suggest a nest of tables in the front room would be ideal rather than risking cups being knocked over on the floor. The use of the hot tub added to the relaxing experience after a day out exploring thank you. Would certainly keep it in mind if we visit Anglesey again and would recommend it to friends.
