  • "Lovely beautiful week we have had, the Dolwar is a beautiful cottage and in a beautiful location to tour the Isle of Anglesey."

Lovely Furnishings and beddings, couldn't be better, love every bit of it. Took a lot of tips from the guest book so was very useful. will be back again, Thanks for having us.

  • "The cottage on entering was clean and welcoming."

Great entrance porch for outdoor gear which we used to good effect. Lovely lounge with big TV and dining area. Kitchen and utility room were great. Garden, outside eating area and summer house were well used as the sun shone. Double bedrooms were great. However, the third bedroom with the sofa bed was unusable as the sofa bed did not go flat but bent! Luckily there were only 4 of us and our grandaughter was able to.sleep in the double bed with her Mum. We choose this cottage as it had three bedrooms but in reality it only has two, a proper single bed in the third bedroom would have made it perfect!

  • "We were very disappointed to find that an ongoing problem with a leak from the bathroom had not been resolved."

We reported this on the Saturday morning and had a very frustrating weekend trying to resolve the issue. While most staff at Menai holidays were helpful, when the overarching Sykes customer services intervened the conversations deteriorated. We could not get them understand that we were on holiday and not house sitting the cottage. We were told by some we HAD to be back at the cottage at certain times even though as arranged the keys were left in the key safe. We were at the cottage at the prearranged times for the plumber but both occasions he was late and even though the keys were in the key safe he did not attempt to use them on the Saturday evening when we had gone out for a meal. Even after we informed you that the problem had been repaired, no one bothered to contact us on the Monday morning to see if we were ok. We only received an email after we had returned home. Overall the customer service was from Sykes cottages was appalling and very unsatisfactory. We have been offered a partial refund but we had a very stressful worrying two days out of our week while the leak was sorted. It could have proved quite dangerous as there was a possibility that the ceiling may have collapsed. We feel that this should have been picked up by the housekeeper before we arrived as it obviously has been an ongoing problem for quite a while.

  • "Fabulously comfortable beds."

Big fluffy towels. Huge tv! Desperately needs a brush and dustpan. (We read previous comments and brought our own) Very little kitchen cupboard space. There were lots of things in cupboards that were probably unnecessary. Could do with some touch up decorating and a deep clean (window areas and skirts) excellent recycling set up. One the whole a great little property.

  • "This was a nice place to use a base for our week in Anglesey."

Clean and comfortable and off-road parking a bonus. Close to some good coastal walks. Not far from shops, restaurants and chippy.

  • "Nice comfortable place."

Plenty to see and do here. Lots of walks and beaches to discover. Chippy by the harbour does a good job and Rasi restaurant worth a visit, only a short walk away. Lucky with the weather as well. Lovely and clean to come to, yes they were comfy beds! Used the sun room and enjoyed the garden. What a super way to enjoy your holiday. Many thanks to whoever is caring for your home, both in and out.

  • "Very comfortable and generally well equipped."

It would be helpful if some basic cleaning items were to be provided (dustpan and brush at the very least) and there were no oven gloves or baking tray for the oven. We found the front door impossibly difficult to open from the outside (I think we were lucky to be able to open it when we first arrived..it wasn't a good start to the stay) and resorted to using the back door. Perhaps we are just getting feeble as we get older!

  • "How was your host?"

10/10 Very welcoming and friendly. Their information was excellent. For example, any questions asked were answered in a short space of time. How clean was Dolwar? 10/10 Dolwar was exceptionally clean. We had all the essentials needed on arrival. How was the facilities? 8/10 The facilities in Amlwch were actually quite something. The scenery was outstanding. For example, the local bays gave us the opportunity to do something we enjoy 'kayaking'. The local beaches were an amazing surprise what with the water so clear and the sand soft enough to relax and chill out on. We also ventured out to the biggest boot sale in North Wales, where we was able to pick up some great bargains. The local Indian restaurant 'Rozzi's' I have to say was the best curry house I have ever eaten in, a car is essential though. How did you sleep? 10/10 - The beds I have to say were so comfy, windows were spectacular. Would you stay here again? Yes, Dolwar is a true gem. It's exactly what we was looking for. Thank you we will definitely recommend to others and be back again.
