  • "We had a wonderful stay at Hazel Bank Cottage."

The cottage is perfect, fantastic facilities, warm and very very clean. The area is stunning, with lots of beautiful beaches close by . The welcome pack was a nice touch, as was the communication from the owners. We will definitely return.

  • "This is a beautiful cottage , very clean and all the basics such as Iron, hairdryers, towels are avaliable, plus fully stocked kitchen with pots and pans."

We were left bottle of wine and some milk which was a kind touch and made us feel very welcome. Great location , and fair sized garden for children to play in . Great for a family , we took daughter, son and their 8 month old twins and a 3 year old and there was loads of space . The only downside , which is nothing to do with the cottage really , is that you can't really walk anywhere as it is in a lovley rural setting but traffic comes flying round the country road which is (as you'd expect ,) very narrow . But as long as you have transport, there is off road parking for 2cars and beaches 10 minutes away

Just on criticism would be that the weather was great whilst we were there and some sort of shade in the garden would have been appreciated but other than that the place cannot be faulted

  • "Lovely cottage well-equipped and furnished."

Quite large with 3 bedrooms and big kitchen amd separate lounge. Conservatory was a nice extra space. Lots of thoughtful extras and a real welcome factor. Comfortable beds and furniture good TV and internet. Only negative was it was right on road and the garden is up some steep steps above property. Noise not a real problem but safety consideration with dogs or small children.

  • "The cottage was ready early & we received a text on departure day that we could turn up whenever we wanted, which was a nice touch."

The cottage was spotless, and generally well equipped, but the cupboards a little disorganised (trying to match lids to saucepans - but that was probably previous occupants fault). Eggs cups & sieve would have been nice. The raised back garden was lovely place to watch the sunset from, great views, and having bats circulate overhead was a real bonus.

Amazing large property, Ideal for 6 people. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Nice little welcome pack of rose wine, Welsh cakes and keyring. Hopefully get to return some day and will definitely recommend to family and friends . Only thing missing was an air fryer Ha ha. Thanks very much to the owners for having us stay.

  • "Very nicely appointed, clean, spacious etc."

A high standard cottage. The one negative for us was that the twin room is at the opposite end of the cottage from the parents bedroom and our daughter needed the proximity, which was problematic. Also the weather wasn't great and the noise of the wind and rain exacerbated the anxiety and we didn't get to use the garden space - but that's not your fault! Although it's right next to the road, it's a quiet road so that wasn't an issue.

And would go again . Only issue I found was the mattresses on the single bed were not very comfortable for a adult . Ante the chair in the lounge was not comfortable for sitting on for a long time

The location, just outside Amlwch suited us as it was quiet and peaceful but with plenty on offer in the town. Good base to explore Anglesey- we particularly enjoyed Parys Moutain and seeing red squirrels at Dingle nature reserve.

Thank you Martin. We are so pleased that you and the family had a wonderful time. Parys mountain is one of our favourites too. Beautiful colours across the landscape. Property Owner

  • "There was 4 of us sharing Hazel Bank cottage."

It was ideal, all on the flat, very comfortable, lovely kitchen with all that we needed. Each bedroom had its own bathroom which was ideal. Beds were very comfortable especially the king bed. We had lovely weather when we were there which meant the sun shone through the skylights & made the cottage lovely and warm - no need for the heating or wood burner. We had a slight problem when we were there but a phone call to Mark and it was sorted very quickly. We sat in the garden on the patio furniture a number of times but one little thing was that the grass needed cutting as it was pretty long. All in all it was a super holiday. I’ve already recommended to friends who have booked for September.

It was lovely to get the opportunity to speak with you during your stay and we still smile about Grandmas keys :) Thank you for your lovely review and always great to hear that we have managed to provide everything you need. We have now asked the gardener to come more frequently during the summer. . We would love to see you back with us soon. Mark & Emily x Property Owner

The owners provided a lovely greetings package of wine, bread, butter, milk and Welsh cakes and there was also tea, coffee and sugar provided. It's a lovely spacious cottage and we really enjoyed our stay. My only suggestion [not a complaint] would be for a hand rail for the main bedroom ensuite, as an arthritis sufferer there was a bit of a problem getting out of the shower. That would not put us off booking again though!!

  • "Initial impressions of the property are quite cozy, the welcome pack very generous as were the cleaning and toilet items."

The beds are very comfortable as well. However the cleanliness of the property, especially the oven and some of the cooking utensils were poor, and some aspects of the bungalow though roomy were tired. The main disappointment was the garden,or rather lack of one. We sometimes enjoy staying in our holiday home and relax in a well presented garden, unfortunately this was not the case. There were restricted views of the landscape as these were blocked by the tall hedges the garden was very unkempt and much of the garden furniture was rather dilapidated. We had chosen Holly Bank. Cottage to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary because of its presentation which sadly it failed to live up to.

Hi Larry, we are extremely sorry that Hazel Bank Cottage has not lived up to your expectations and do hope that you have managed to enjoy your break away for your anniversary. We are dealing with the electric problem in the cottage since you decided, without consent and illegally, to charge your electric vehicle through the cottage window. There is an amazing team that maintains the cottage and prior to this review had a score of 98 so can only describe your experience as a one off . We will look into the oven and cleaning utensils that you have mentioned. With regards to the garden, this is as advertised on the photographs and is a relaxing space for all who have stayed before, including those with children who have found the space ample and secure. Our hedges do protect the privacy of guests as well as from those Anglesey winds we get. We take all feedback on board and are genuinely shocked to hear of your experience, especially since you took full advantage of all facilities (even those without permission) during your stay. • "A lovely place in a good position for seeing the island."

Easy parking, we had three cars. The kitchen is very well equipped but has nothing for real coffee so guests may want to take a cafetiere. All three showers worked well. Two of the bedrooms are very small but the beds are extremely comfortable. We had a wonderful week, our party being three couples of mature years. The nearby restaurant was excellent and the pub in Amlwch did good food at very low prices. We would have appreciated a local street map and more specific walk details. The instructions for recycling do not match the facilities - no boxes or bins - and this was a nuisance. Overall, highly recommended.

Dear Winifrede & Co It's wonderful to hear you had a great stay and that you enjoyed exploring the spectacular coastal path and local area. We value your feedback and tips and so have added a cafetiere to our shopping list. We have also noted and will make the maps provided for local walks more visible :) We are in the midst of finding a solution for the recycling and so the booklet is slightly outdated and will make this a priority to update . Thank you again and we hope to see you back with us again soon. Best wishes Emily & Mark Property Owner
