"A lovely, homely, comfy cottage with everything we needed."
A wonderful setting extremely nice owners and although we have been several times we will be back. Thanks so very much.
-
"Our holiday was excellent, peaceful and very relaxing."
The area we stayed in was beautiful. The property was excellent and the gentleman who met us at the property was very polite. It was an excellent holiday and will be staying there again the next time we holiday in Anglesey.
-
"The cottage and facilities were excellent as was the location of the bungalow, the farm shop along the waterfront offer fantastic breakfasts."
Great for touring island / North Wales.
-
"Barras Cottage was a cosy and comfortable place to return to each day during a week of rather challenging weather."
It was especially useful to have a good space by the door (in the conservatory) for hanging wet coats to dry and leaving muddy boots. The cottage is in a good location with wonderful views over the Menai Straits.

"Good returned visit."
Found cottage clean and warm . Chocolates left went well with coffee. As location great for visitors to Foal Farm Sea Zoo. Salt Shop. Very peaceful part of Anglesey. Thanks to Mr @ Mrs Spears for letting us this your little Gem of a cottage.
-
"This lovely, cosy cottage is in a beautiful location with fabulous views."
It is very well equipped and spotlessly clean. An information pack would have been useful although the owners are contactable if needed. The delicious chocolates were a treat.
-
"Enjoyed our 21st visit."
-
"Another relaxing stay ."
Great area of Anglesey. Cottage very well equipped . Handy for the Foal Farm and Chocolate shop. A selection of chocolates are left for you in the cottage. You can’t resist going buying some for friends. We booked with Anglesey sea salt for a seaweed barrel experience. Worth doing this. Never visited sea world but next time . I am interested in the turtles that occasionally get washed upon the beaches, And the breeding programme of sea horses. That will be for next time. So big thanks to Nicola and Bevis. And Nicolas mum for the nice chat. Hope to return soon.

"Lovely, cosy and welcoming cottage almost on the Menai Strait with a stunning view of water and mountains and a little orchard garden."
Wonderfully quiet!! Wonderful place to unwind... Barras Cottage is well-equipped with everything you need - including sheets and plenty of towels - and is so comfortable I was reluctant to leave it every day! Just 2 minutes walk to the water and a long stretch to wander and bird-watch, or further along, visit Foel Farm for a cappuccino. Owners are very friendly, respect your privacy and make delicous chocolates - a welcome box of these was a lovely surprise! We will definitely book again if visiting Anglesey.
-
"Highly recommend Barras Cottage ."
The cottage is extremely comfortable has everything you need. Terrific views across Menai Strait. We would certainly go again if staying on Anglesey. R.Kelly

"Very peaceful stay at this Warm and cosy ."
Weather not kind to us but returning to the warm cottage a bonus. Lovely views from the lounge . Did not venture into the garden . Would be great in the summer. In the kitchen every think you need to prepare your meals. Great porch conservatory . Ideal for reading or practicing a musical instrument without disturbing anyone. . Looking forward to retuning in the summer . Longer days to make use of that fabulous Garden. Great Value for Money. . The welcome gift of chocolates was really a nice touch. Hope to visit around the corner to see them being made. Unfortunately closed at present .Thanks Mr & Mrs Spears . Ps Sounds formal but did not get to speak. Good that they respect your privacy. lLoved it we Will be back.

"Neither radiator in the downstairs bedroom was working."
The large radiator was under the window with one of the single beds against it preventing access to the control. A small radiator against the wall at the foot of the other bed did not respond to turning the valve. It was very cold. If I had been made aware of how deep the sunken bath was I would not have booked the cottage. There were no handrails to aid access to the shower attachment and was totally unsuitable for an 80 year old.

"The cottage is most attractive, has a pretty, little orchard garden, and is situated in a superb, rural location with lovely views and close to the Straits."

"The cottage was clean, we did however have problems over the week, we had interrupted TV reception twice and had no internet from the Sunday until late on the Thursday night."
We could not work the washing machine despite reading the instructions over and over again , in the end we spoke to the owner who told us he had had to turn off the tap because of a leak, once the tap was turned on the washing machine worked and we turned the tap off after use. On a plus side, there are wonderful views from the cottage and it was good being able to walk to the edge of the Menai Strait in a few minutes and to look across at Caernarvon.
-
"A lovely well appointed cottage with superb views from the patio."
Very tranquil location. Its location means that there are many attractions in close proximity, RSPB, National Trust, etc and if cooking is not your thing, then there are many excellent restaurants within 15 minutes. The owners are very approachable and pleasant.

"Overall perfect stay!"
! Very clean.

"Been here before, its a lovely place, however couldnt go this time as i contracted covid at the last minute, the only thing i would say is there should be at least a partial refund available to people who go down with covid last minute, there are plenty of places that do without having people pay holiday insurance on top of what is expensive anyway when you throw booking fees on top."
People do not have the choice to continue with the booking if they have covid, its not a personal problem its a global problem and i think the booking agent needs to play their part like we all do and offer better help than merely rip off the customer the entire cost of the stay frankly. Bitterly disappointed people are still profiteering from peoples misery also at a time when the cost of living continues to go nuts, this will sadly be the last time we book.

"Always lovely to stay at Barras despite the winter storms!"
-
"Barras Cottage is in a delightful location and is cosy and comfortable."
The owners were welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended.
-
"We were delighted to have a Christmas tree and hamper provided which were most appreciated."
We had a lovely week.
-
"We were disappointed with Barras Cottage."
The first thing we noticed was the dirty carpet in the living area. Things didn't get better when the windows let in the rain. There was plain glass with no blinds or curtains to several windows making privacy an issue, especially in the downstairs bathroom and bedroom. It is a nice location, but the property needs attention.
-
"Lovely location."
Well appointed cottage. Comfortable and very relaxing. The only detail that didn't seem to be on the website about the cottage was whether the cottage included bed linen and towels & we needed to check with the owners prior to our visit. However that wasn't a problem. Lovely views over looking the Menai Straits & easy access to many of the North Wales attractions and shopping.
-
"Peaceful time at a lovely situated cottage."
Garden cleaned while we were there to remove leaves and rotten fruit lying on the grass, would have thought the frontage could also do with a tidy up lots of leaves lying around which occasionally arrived inside the hallway. On line comments seemed to be favourable towards the resident of the house however apart from a short chat about things with Mr Spears on arrival the other occupants never approached us to enquire about things in general, got the feeling they were a bit stand offish.
-
"Thanks for a great holiday."
Its a gorgeous little cottage, just right for the 3 of us and Lulu made it feel like home. We wanted to adopt her. The welcome chocolates were a lovely treat and we bought some to give to our pet sitters to say thanks. We would love to stay again in the future.
-
"The cottage is perfectly situated, just a short walk from the Menai Strait, Foel Farm, Sea Zoo and Anglesey Sea Salt."
The views are wonderful, it is very peaceful and the sounds of the sea birds are delightful. This was our second stay at Barras Cottage and we plan to come again.
-
"Very nice,we would stay here again."
-
"The views and peaceful surroundings made it a very relaxing holiday."
Barras Cottage very comfortable and had everything you needed.
-
"Exceptionally well equipped holiday accommodation with amazing views."
If we return to Anglesey we would definitely book this property again.
-
"Great cottage in a beautiful location with stunning views ."
-
"I believe it is our 5th time at Barras & we have always had an enjoyable time staying in this comfy, cosy cottage."
-
"Lovely location & views."
Nice mix of things to do with children at walking distance -Foel Farm, Halon Mon, Sea Zoo, bird watching, crabbing off the pier (remains of -care!). Quite convenient for reaching other Anglesey attractions. Nice garden & patio for outdoor living, weather permitting.
-
"The cottage was comfortable and well equipped as well as being quiet and peaceful with great views."
We could hear the water birds as we lay in bed instead of the traffic we hear at home. Because of the Covid situation we were had more limited options of places to go but the weather was kind so we spent quite a lot of time at the beach. We probably spent longer sitting in the cottage than we normally would but that was ok, it was a very relaxing place to be. The cottage is very well situated, just a short walk from the Menai Strait. Neighbouring Halon Mon, Anglesey Sea Zoo and Foel Farms also have cafes which again was convenient with Covid. Instead of visiting our relatives or them visiting us, we opted for sitting outside at the Halon Mon cafe. We would highly recommend Barras Cottage for both comfort and convenience.
-
"It is a cosy cottage with wonderful views of the Menai Strait and mountains."
We had glorious weather and a very enjoyable week. This was our ninth visit to Barras.
-
"Barras Cottage was everything we hoped for - very cosy, yet perfectly adequate for two couples and very well laid out."
The position is superb, a very short walk to the sea and the coastal path, and the Sea Zoo and Halen Mon Salt are about 5-10 minutes walk. The owners left a box of Anglesey Chocolate (they own the company!) for us, and the little bars of soap were another nice touch. Thoroughly reccomended
-
"Our second visit to this superb little cottage."
Beautifully clean, comfortable and quiet and in a wonderful position virtually on the shore of the Menai strait, with superb views from lounge, bedroom and bathroom windows to the peaks of Snowdonia and Caernarvon . Certainly not our last visit.
-
"Lovely cottage in the most idyllic position, the garden is full of fallen fruit which was a bit of a wasp fest, so walking on the grass or having children there would have been difficult."
for two couples it is ideal with two bedrooms both en suite and separate from one another. Would definitely book to stay again.
-
"My son broke his ankle on this holiday and the owners of this cottage were so helpful and caring."
Couldn’t do enough for us so thank you.
-
"This was our 4th visit to Barras Cottage which shows how much we like it."
It is a lovely cottage in a great location with stunning scenery. We will definitely be going there again. I am very happy booking with Menai Holidays. The website and cottage details are clear and precise. It is also very easy to book by telephone with helpful and friendly staff.

"We have enjoyed a."
wonderful four day break at Barras cottage. It's a very well equipped cottage with a private garden just a few minutes walk from the straits, which you can see from the cottage and garden. We visited Anglesey Sea Salt, a short walk dtmm the cottage, and called at Foel Farm for some delicious Anglesey chocolates. Would love to stay again.

"We had a lovely time at the cottage, its proximity to the straights and the snowdonia views really made it for us."
The owners were great and approachable, checking that all was well with our stay. Barass Cottage is homely and well equipped and we would not hesitate recommending it for a stay on Anglesey.
-

"What a relaxing place to stay, no noise or light pollution."
the days were free of road noise just the occasional car, evenings were warm and quiet, lovely view . cottage had everything we needed , comfy furniture and brill comfy bed. clean and well equipped . we even saw 2 little lambs, belonging to the owners, and loads of cheeky birds came into the garden . hubby got a nice suntan while I relaxed on the comfy settee. lots of places to go if you go out ,and brill just to stay in.

"The cottage is beautiful and so well thought out."
For two couples it has plenty of space to socialise but offers privacy also. The views are spectacular. The door of the fridge was broken, i.e. it wasn't possible to store bottles in the door, but other than that it was perfect. Nicola was so helpful and friendly. I would recommend the property.
-
"Beautiful and cosy, deceptively spacious and in a lovely location, literally a stone's throw from the sea."
Barras Cottage was a lovely break from our busy lives. We especially enjoyed the ever changing view of the tide from the living space and gorgeous views of the sea and snowcapped mountains of Snowdonia from every window of the house, which meant we could enjoy the location even if it was raining and windy. Clean and well equipped, the fairy lights on the outside and the sheep grazing next door made it feel like we had stepped into another world. Perfect location near coastal walks, the Sea Zoo, farm and castles not too far a drive away. Would definitely reccomend.
