  • "We found the cottage to be very clean and beautiful."

Location is excellent. If I have a complaint it’s to say that we were disappointed not to have a welcome pack of any kind. No tea, coffee milk nor sugar. We only stayed for two nights so I’m guessing a bottle of wine to be too much to expect? After a 4 hour drive it would have been nice have been able to put the kettle on and relax for half an hour before having to go out to find a shop. The fact the welcome portfolio says that the aforementioned items are in fact included made it even more disappointing. I also read in previous comments (one from over a year ago) that a shelf in the shower would be helpful. I have recently had a knee replacement surgery and I found it quite a challenge in the small shower cubicle without a shelf, so maybe you don’t read these reviews? Not to worry as I’m an office Google Guide and thousands of people read my Google reviews. That said I’d like to wrap up by saying I would recommend this lovely cottage as overall it was all very nice and relaxing. Our dogs loved it as well. Would have been nice to have stayed a bit longer (seemed to be hometime before we knew it) although not sure if we will return to Long Cottage.

It's central enough to visit all the beautiful areas of interest. We've stayed at a lot of cottages in uk and long cottage is up there with our favourites

  • "Long Cottage is a lovely place to base yourself for a visit to Anglesey."

The directions and information was really good. The only annoyance being that we specifically asked if there was a DVD player and were told that there was. There isn't one! But there is a Smart TV so not a total loss for our evenings in. The cottage is spacious, beautifully decorated with lovely comfortable couches and the heating works brilliantly as we did have a couple of chilly nights. The kitchen is amazingly well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The beds are super comfortable and the bathroom has the best shower ever! Our little dog loved the garden and it was great to sit out for breakfast a couple of times. It was one of the cleanest cottages we have stayed in, and we are picky! We had a wonderful time and it was sad to leave, we would highly recommend.

The cottage has everything you need except food of course. The road running past is so quit so noise is not a problem. It has a well kept, fenced front garden. There is a handy folder with do's and do not. Also contains info about nearest pub and shop as well as nearest supermarket. The bed and pillows were perfect for me. Loved seeing the owls sat on the garden fence and windowsill of the living room. Everywhere is easy to get to, beautiful island ,clean seas clean beaches, long walks. Some great boat trips. An ideal base. We loved it. Perfect.

The kitchen table furniture was very uncomfortable to sit around. There wasn't a welcome pack for arrival such as tea coffee. Small ammount would of been helpful The floorboards upstairs creaked so badly if you needed to go to the toilet in the night it would wake other people up. The beds where very comfortable it was best thing about the accomodation.

we had a wonderful time exploring the area, Newborough beach and forest,( only 20 min drive) a great place for dogs and children, £3-00 to park and you can stay all day. Beaches such as Red wharf bay short drive away. wonderful walks all around the cottage. Would recommend this property to anyone going to Anglesey.

  • "Long Cottage is in a beautiful, peaceful location."

It's spacious and comfortable. The garden is enclosed and safe for dogs. Reasonably well equipped kitchen. I was surprised by the lack of local information. Usually there's a list of local pubs, restaurants etc. A local map would have been useful. Took us a day or two to get our bearings. The shower was very good but really needs a shelf unit, as there's no room to put anything. The floor boards upstairs are very creaky! We enjoyed our stay on Anglesey. We would definitely go back again.

  • "A lovely cottage."

Very spacious. Great views. Everything you could need. Ideal location for peace and quiet to get away from busy day to day working life. Overall really enjoyable stay. The only thing that let the stay down. Was the awful sound proofing between the lounge and next door - where the fire exit was. Next doors entrance was really noisy. Every time they opened/closed the door you could hear everything. Also when their inner door was open to the kitchen - you could hear the clattering of Crockery, and almost every conversation word for word. And the barking of their dog.

The cottage is lovely and in a beautiful location, very well equipped and exceptionally clean and tidy , Sadly as we are in our seventies we found the lounge suite rather difficult too low and the seats very deep difficult to get in and out of Also the shower would benefit from a shelf to put shower gel/soap on not good having to bend down to them on the floor Overall we did enjoy our stay, the area is fantastic so many beautiful places to visit a little suprised that they dont put brochures of places of interest to assist those who are new to Angelsey Great that our dogs were secure in the garden and we did enjoy being able to sit out in the sunshine Thanks to Tom for his prompt attention with the heating issue I would love to visit that area of the Island again but regretfully wouldn't go back to Long cottage as it didn't quite meet our needs as an elderly party

All the facilities that you need are provided and the kitchen is well equipped. The lounge is very comfy and spacious. Just a couple of small points, I would recommend maybe some sort of shelf in the shower to avoid bending down to the floor for toiletries. Also the soundproofing between the lounge and the emergency exit needs improving, It it quite noisy when the neighbours go in and out. Also the creaking floorboards on the landing really need fixing.

  • "Long Cottage Penmon, Anglesey Friday 29 09 2023 We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Long Cottage at Penmon on Anglesey."

It was set in a quiet rural area, with easy access from the mainland, and it had excellent parking. The cottage was most attractive, warm & welcoming with all the facilities we needed. It was great to have lots of cupboard space in the kitchen to store our own provisions. The beds, dressed with fresh crisp linen, were very comfortable & the bathroom with its powerful shower was excellent. The generous sized bath towels were much appreciated as was the tiny night light, which was a thoughtfully provided aid to navigation in an unfamiliar place at night. We were pleased to be within easy reach of the Beaumaris, Conwy, Caernarfon, Harlech Castles as well as the National Trust properties of Plas Newydd House and Penrhyn Castle. Our excursion to Bodnant Gardens was pure pleasure as was driving around the Anglesey with its sheer quiet beauty. A stroll along the front at Beaumaris looking across to the Snowdonia Mountain range with Beaumaris Castle behind us was very special. A comfortable cottage in an excellent setting what more could we want? We have already recommended Long Cottage to friends. Maureen

  • "We enjoyed a lovely week at the cottage."

Directions were good - we wouldn't have found it using the satnav! It is comfortable, spacious, well-equipped and in a great location for exploring Anglesey and North Wales. We were disappointed that there was no 'Welcome pack' (apart from one teabag, four coffee sachets and some sugar sachets.) We have stayed in lots of cottages over many years and there are usually some basics to welcome arrivals after a long journey (milk, coffee, tea, sugar - often biscuits, a cake or fruit - even a bottle of wine on occasions!) Having said that, it was good value and we would recommend it.

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
