  • "The key safe was difficult to use, could probably do with replacing."

    The kitchen patio door lock was also very stiff. We had an 87 year old with us who struggled to get up from the sofa ( and that was the higher one, we struggled with the lower one!!). The addition of a higher armchair would help and/or blocks under the low sofa to raise it. Our dog was well catered for at the accommodation but would be worth warning potential guests that beach access is restricted. It was a shame to gave a lovely beach nearby and not be able to go on it.

  • "This is the 3rd time we have stayed in this location and apartment, we love it in benllech."

    The apartment is ideal for us especially with it being on the ground floor where our Springer Ella can come and go all day in the back garden (she didn't want to come home). The apartment is clean, well stocked and nice welcome goodies waiting for us. The local amenities are handy. The beach is just a nice 10mins walk, albeit down a steep road, but if you don't walk, you can use the car. There is a car park near the beach and toilet facilities which are very clean. Ella loves it on the beach and in the sea, makes a change for her daily exercise on the road or in a field. Lovely places to visit and explore. We will certainly be going back again.

  • "Beautiful modern apartment conveniently located next to shops, eating places and the beach."

    We loved the apartment, what we didn't love was being woken up at 7am every morning by the horrendous noise from the apartment above. We went there for a relaxing peaceful break but the noise was too much. Unfortunately, we will not stay at this property again because of this reason.

  • "This is a lovely property, close to all amenities, and great views."

    my only niggle, was the cleaning could have had a bit more attention to detail, glass windows and doors not cleaned, kitchen cupboard not cleaned inside and finger marks left on outside of lovely white cupboards. bedroom window couldn't be opened as key to window was missing and the room was very hot, so had to sleep with bedroom door open. bedsheets were too small for the size of the bed and kept coming off which was a nuisance. The mattress protector was plastic underneath, and so was sweaty. But all said, it was a beautiful place, and would go back again.

  • "The apartment was great, everything we needed with plenty of room in the open plan main area."

    Lots of nice extras with games, dvds, bits and pieces in kitchen. Great private parking, a real added bonus in the area! Nice to have a little outdoor area for the dog plus the table and chairs to be able to sit out. Towels were lovely and soft, bedding was all good- these little things make all the difference. Great location with fab chippy and Indian plus good pub all on doorstep. Beach was lovely with the dog friendly part at the far end. The thing to ruin our time in the apartment was the people upstairs. Whenever they were home, the young grandson was allowed to literally run riot from 7am until 9pm. Running around continuously, shouting, banging doors. It really did ruin what was meant to be our peaceful holiday when in the apartment in the mornings and evenings. Not your fault but it is the reason we would not book again even though we plan to return to the area and the apartment was absolutely what we would look for in a place to stay. Thank you for making it such a homely place to be. You really have made a good job.

  • "We’ve had a lovely holiday in the apartment."

    Been 3 or perhaps 4 times now and wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Benllech. Fully equipped with all you need. Kitchen equipment, wifi, etc no need to take anything with you. Perfect for our little dog, enclosed garden, dog bowls and also tin of treats. Table/chairs/parasol in the garden. Thank you once again! Susan

  • "Just returned from here for half term holiday ."

    It’s our 3 rd time in this apartment and we love it . Perfect location for restaurants , bars , shop , takeaways and beautiful beach all in walking distance . Fab enclosed garden for our little dog . Apartment modern & spotless . Will definitely return for another holiday next year . Check in is now 4pm & check out is 10am which is ideal . Lovely welcome pack supplied also . Highly recommend .

  • "The property is great sadly let down by very restrictive check in (5pm) and check out (9am) times."

    Never stayed anywhere, hotel or other that has such hours. Even left the night before so not to have all the hassle of getting out by 9am. Very good property and location but would not rebook because of the checkin and check out times. Two issues that require attention. The back gate is warped and sticks which does not help access the key box. Second bedroom. When stripping the bed on leaving, stain on the duvet. Other than that property very clean and good facilities.

    Nice outdoor garden and secure. Good to be able to let our dog roam in and out. Parking on the premises on numbered spot and secure. Only one negative is the fact that you can’t have access into the apt until 5pm. Other places we have been are 3pm. It feels as if you lose a day of your holiday. Otherwise all excellent and very happy and look forward to staying again. Thank you

    The location was brilliant and we could not have asked for better. All was satisfactory and no problems encountered. The only thing we did not find was a scourer for pan cleaning but remedied at Tesco Express! Perhaps this item could be added to the list of things one should take with you. Our only observation would be the 9.00 am departure time. In order to leave the apartment as we wished we left to travel home on the previous day. Thank you for a great break.

  • "Great flat in a great central location."

    Lovely and clean upon arrival. The only thing that made it difficult with two small children was check in being 5pm (tea and bath time) and check out at 9am. The check out being an hour later and check in being an hour earlier would have made it a lot less stressful. But the actual flat was lovely and we had a wonderful stay and would definitely return.

  • "A comfortable, clean and spacious apartment in an ideal location for amenities, beach and exploring Anglesey."

    The garden is a good spot to relax. The only downside is that one of the two people staying in the apartment above was very heavy footed and frequently pounded on our ceiling whilst walking up and down for quite long periods of time. We had to put the tv on to drown out the noise. There should be a notice in the apartment above asking people to be mindful there are occupants below. The upper apartment needs something on the floor to dampen the noise.

  • "Having stayed at this property last year, we have no issues at all with the location, comfort or cleanliness of the apartment."

    However there were a number of things which have dampened our enthusiasm and taken the shine from our holiday experience. We were aware that there was a building plot at the rear of the property and were astounded to find that construction work was underway and lasted throughout our visit. This involved large mechanical diggers, welding of steel girders, cement mixing and vehicles entering and exiting the site. It made use of the outside space virtually impossible due to the noise and dust. We are extremely disappointed that this was not mentioned prior to our visit. We did send an email to Menai Holidays to advise of the unsatisfactory situation and received a phone call back from Anthony COR-175923-CF. We have sent photos & videos as evidence but we have not had a reply despite requesting an update. Secondly, the property includes a washing machine which does not work. I mentioned this to the house keeper on day 2 of our visit and supplied the make and model of the machine however nothing was actioned before we left. Thirdly, there are no recycling facilities within the apartment block. We made several journeys to a recycling centre in Benllech to dispose of our recycling. Sadly other guests within the apartment block did not, which led to the general waste bins becoming full & black bin bags being left next to our front door. The seagulls took great delight in shredding the bin bags on a daily basis. Finally, it is unfortunate that as residents of the ground floor you are reliant on the upstairs occupants showing some courtesy during their stay. At times the noise on the ceiling from above was horrendous and when combined with the noise outside made for a very unpleasant experience. Whilst we are happy to recommend the property we would very much welcome your feedback to the issues we have raised. We look forward to hearing back from you shortly.

  • "The apartment is centrally located close to all amenities."

    It is modern and has a superb kitchen and open plan lounge which opens out to an enclosed private garden. There are views to the sea and it is just a short walk to the beach. It has two lovely bedrooms one of which is ensuite and a great bathroom. We chose to leave the car the entire 3 nights stay and explore the local coast. It was great for our dog who loved it. We would highly recommend the accommodation.

  • "This was the 2nd time we stayed at the property."

    It is an ideal location as so close to shops, beach etc and you can spend the day without the car by walking to Red Wharf Bay. The property itself is comfortable and ideal for 2 people. It has views to the sea which is nice. The only criticism this time was that the standard of cleanliness was not as high as it should have been and I left details of this on the feedback sheet for the cleaning company. A suggestion to the owners - the window in the 2nd bedroom has no lock / security on it so cannot be left open at night as it is the ground floor and anyone could gain access through it. We would have liked to book again next year but on checking the website have found that the cost has increased by over £100 for the same period, so will be unaffordable.

    Lovely decor and really comfortable. Everything you might need is there. Lovely little garden that has a view of the sea and is a bit of a sun trap. Location is fantastic- 5 minutes walk to the brilliant beach and a couple of minutes to shops and takeaways (the best fish and chips are found less than two minutes away). Perfect location for visiting all of Anglesey.

    Someone has spent a lot of time (successfully) making this the best equipped place I have stayed in. Chippy, Chinese, curry house, Tesco express and pub all within 50 yards....but you don't get any noise as the apartment is set back from the road.

The property

Cysgod y Capel is a contemporary ground floor holiday apartment situated in the centre of Benllech, on Anglesey.

Being a ground floor apartment, it does have the benefit of some outside space, too!

Benllech’s Blue Flag beach is a short walk away and there are a selection of cafes and restaurants in the village itself to enjoy.

The living space is wonderfully bright and open plan.

The kitchen has all you need for a self-catering break with dishwasher, electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine.

A breakfast bar is a good place for your morning cuppa, or a quick snack before heading out for the day. In the seating area there are comfy sofas around a flat screen TV, Blu-Ray player and a sound system, all linked to the Sound Bar.

Behind the seating area is a dining table with chairs sitting up to four people.

In this room, two sets of large sliding doors open out onto the garden. There are two double bedrooms, both of which have ample storage.

One has the bonus of an ensuite shower room with hand basin and loo.

The main bathroom has a double-ended bath with shower attachment, hand basin and loo.

The garden area is enclosed and offers both a lawn and paved seating area with outdoor furniture.

Sit out here and soak up the sunshine with your evening glass of wine!

There is also allocated parking for one car.

Families will love the seaside location of Cysgod y Capel in Benllech.

A lovely, sandy beach is close by, as are cafes serving fish and chips!
