Properties that display the Sustonica badge have successfully passed the criteria,
which align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council standards,
and their owner has made a commitment to look after our planet as well as you.
Linda and Gwilym, the owners were very friendly and helpful and left a lovely welcome of milk, welsh cakes and shortbread, which was lovely. They were also concerned about our journey as it was the weekend of the terrible storm and kept checking in with us to make sure we arrived safely. We would not hesitate to stay in Rhos Cottage again.

"The cottage was very clean and comfortable."
We really appreciated the welcome pack. The conservatory is a great sun trap so we enjoyed sitting in there during the couple of rainy days. If you have a car, the cottage is well placed for visiting many interesting places on Anglesey and on the mainland. We would recommend visiting the woodland at Llangefni to see the red squirrels and the varied bird life. And the nearby beaches at Benllech and Red Wharf Bay are beautiful. We loved it so much we booked our next stay before our week was over.

Very comfortable stay indeed in a lovely part of Anglesey. The only downside is the incredibly noisy seagulls, but you soon get used to them and they become background noise.

We were very lucky with the weather, so plenty of walking and relaxing. Love walking along the beach. Plenty of places to eat in Benllech and shops everything easy to walk to. We went to the sea zoo really interesting well worth a visit. So much to see and do in Anglesey.

"This is a really lovely holiday property."
Immaculately clean, tidy and comfortable. Milk, cake, biscuits and coffee, tea and sugar all very welcome and appreciated on arrival. (Salt, pepper and oil there too!) Excellent heating, shower, and kitchen. Brilliant location with good sea glimpses. Quiet, warm, comfortable. Private garden. The communication from the owners was outstanding. We had a great week in this lovely home and wouldn't hesitate to book Rhos Cottage again, or recommend it.

"Rhos Cottage is a delightful place to stay in Benllech and I was very relaxed and happy there."
The owners Linda and Gwilym were very welcoming and contacted me before and during my stay which I thought was a lovely thing to do. The cottage was spotless when I arrived and I'm sure you will find everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The only item I would have appreciated that was not supplied was a hairdryer, so make sure you take one with you if you have long hair like me.

"What a lovely "home from home" Rhos cottage is."
Cosy, comfortable, and very well equipped & furnished. We really enjoyed our stay here. Plenty to see and do on the doorstep, with the sea just a short walk away. Very good local facilities in Benllech, which is a friendly village with a community feel to it. Highly recommended & I would not hesitate to return.

If there was one slight improvement I would suggest that there was another easy chair available in the lounge. We had two grandchildren with us and they used to niggle about where they should sit. But we must say that it is a first class holiday cottage.

"It was lovely to be back at Rhos Cottage this was our 3rd staying here and this time we stayed for 2 weeks, such a lovely relaxing place to stay and have booked again for next year."
It’s a great bass as there is so much to see and do. Lin and Gwilym are lovely owns and leave milk and cake. Also Benllech has everything you needed within walk distance, we like go to The Shed they do as great breakfast and we popped in on our way back from walking through gypsy woods for tea and cake great value and lovely staff.Went to Bangor pier well worth a visit you have to pay a small entrance fee there’s a great cafe at the end of the pier well worth a visit, another great place is Penmon Lighthouse and there is a nice cafe there as well. Would definitely recommend staying here you won’t be disappointed.

"A lovely cottage in a really peaceful spot, yet only a 5 to 10 minute walk to the centre of Benllech and to the beach."
The cottage was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. It also had the most comfortable beds! We wouldn’t hesitate in staying here again and will definitely be planning another visit soon.

"Just returned home from a fabulous stay at Rhos Cottage."
This is our second visit to Rhos Cottage in just five months it wants for nothing spotlessly clean and has everything you could possibly need to make the ideal holiday, it's location is spot on the peaceful area is a tonic in itself. Rhos Cottage really is a home from home very clean and comfortable and really does have everything you could need to make your stay a pleasure. It was warm and cosy and a perfect base to explore North Wales with easy access to anything and everything you could possibly need.
Benllech has a beautiful beach which is literally a 10 minute walk shops etc are again within easy walking distance, we had brilliant weather for November and such a peaceful pleasant visit and we will not hesitate to return next year. Communication from Linda and Gwylim was spot on and welcome as was the perfect dealings with Sykes Holiday Cottages which couldn't have been any easier and honest.
Thank you to everyone that made our Holiday a wonderful time and the memories we will now have forever.

Lovely views from the conservatory window of the sea. Thank you for the welcome pack. Great location for Benllech village and lovely beach. Plenty of places to eat, Pebbles, Tavern on the Bay, The Boathouse at Red Whaf Bay you can walk to these along the beach. Ideal base for exploring Anglesey. Plenty of places to visit, we did South Stack lighthouse, Beaumaris castle, Snowdonia mountain railway, the slate museum, all not too far away. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property.

"We have just got back from a week in Rhos Cottage and what a fabulous time we had."
The property was absolutely spotless on arrival and had everything we needed for our stay. There was even a lovely welcome pack waiting in the kitchen.
There is ample room for 4 people: for sleeping, relaxing or eating, all needs are catered for. We especially enjoyed eating our meals in the conservatory in order to enjoy the late afternoon sun. The patio area and the garden are also immaculate and it was lovely to sit outside in the sun with a cup of tea in the morning, or a gin and tonic in the evening.
As already mentioned, every room was spotless, well decorated, modern and comfortable. There are plenty of places in the bedrooms to hang clothes and the beds are comfortable.
Would absolutely recommend this property, and the owners are also fantastic, keeping us informed of things prior to and during our stay.

"We stayed at Rhos Cottage for a week with our two young children."
It was absolutely perfect. The property could not have been cleaner and was equipped with everything we could need. The garden was lovely to relax in after a trip out and was great for the children to play in. It was a ten minute walk to the beach, which was large and sandy with lovely, clear sea, and an even shorter walk to Benllech village with pubs, shops etc. There was lots to do in the local area and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We highly recommend Rhos Cottage to other young families.

We love sitting in the conservatory and having breakfast, we were really lucky with the weather and sat out on the patio ever day as it’s a sun trap.
Such a great location very quite within walk distance of the beach, shops are and restaurants. We went to the shed cafe they do a great breakfast staff are lovely, the butchers and baker’s are well worth a visit. So much to see and do in Anglesey. We love staying at the bungalow that much we have booked again for next year but are staying for 2 weeks. Thank you Linda and Gwilym for the fruit cake, Welsh scones and milk very much appreciated.

"We have just spent the most amazing week at Rhos cottage , in Benllech ."
From the first moment we stepped through the door it felt like home from home . The location is fantastic with every thing close at hand , don't even have to get in the car . The beach was close by and some great walks across to the Boat inn for some delicious food The cottage was immaculate, and very very comfortable , with every thing we needed. The welcome pack was very thoughtful too . It was lovely to sit in the conservatory looking out onto the private garden just enjoying peace and quiet . We actually didn't want to leave and could quite happily live there ! We hope to return next year .

"Lovely bungalow, spotlessly clean, this is first place we’ve stayed where even down to the kitchen sponge was provided, thank you as I did forget the fairy."
It was so nice to see that even the mattress and pillow protectors were washed after each stay. The only issue I had was with the pillows, they were far to soft for me and if a group or family were staying a bathroom lock would be useful. We throughly enjoyed our stay, it was so peaceful. Only a short walk to the beach and pub which serve lovely meals.
Hello, and thank you so much for your lovely comments relating to our cottage. Sorry you weren’t comfortable with our pillows, we do check them regularly to make sure the hollow fibre ones haven’t gone flat! We also provide each guest with one feather pillow and one hollow fibre. As it happens we did buy some medium - firm pillows recently, but found that some of our guests had put them away in the wardrobe because they were too firm. Now we realise that we should leave more of a variety of pillows, so we shall do. We are always grateful for our guests leaving feedback, good or bad, because we can only act on improvements when we receive it, so we are grateful for your comments. The bathroom door does, in fact, have a lock. It is a new type, consisting of what looks a little like a nail ! It is located beside the door handle. If guests are in the bathroom and wish to lock the door, the ‘pin’ as I shall call it, is simply pushed in. There is no need to pull the pin out to open, just using the handle unlocks it automatically. Of course the door cannot be opened from the outside. There is also the same type of lock on the inside of the master bedroom door. The reason we have not left written instructions is that if children who are staying in the cottage read them, they just may fiddle with the locks…! Best wishes from Gwilym and me,

"Lovely stay good location for touring, cant fault the cottage."
If we were to make one suggestion it would be lock on toilet door can be embarrassing at times with four adults in the property.
Hello Sue, we’re pleased you were happy with our cottage. We’re sorry about the bathroom door, there is actually a lock on the door, and one on the inside of the master bedroom door too! It is a new type of lock, consisting of a ‘pin’ on the handle assembly. Pushing the pin in locks the door, with no need to pull the pin out to open it. Simply using the handle to open the door unlocks the pin. We haven’t left written instructions in case young children read them and ‘ fiddle’ with the locks. We shall put the instructions inside one of the wardrobes where little hands and eyes don’t see it! Thank you for your feedback, it helps us to provide the best holiday for all our guests.

"The bungalow was very easy to find and a lovely welcome pack awaited our arrival."
This was definitely one of the nicest places we have stayed at in the UK. The bungalow was immaculately clean and tastefully furnished with a wood burning stove. The location was great as well - just an 8 minute walk to the beach and the Anglesey Coastal path. We really couldn't fault it. We can't recommend this bungalow highly enough.

"The property was as described, but pictures didn’t really do it justice."
It had everything you needed, and was a good size for 2 people. Cleanliness was exceptional which in these COVID days was a big plus. Little quibble not a couple of nice wine glasses!

"The bungalow was beautiful so clean, comfortable and decorated to a very high standard."
The beds were very comfortable.We loved the view from the patio you can see the sea and mountains. We loved sitting in the conservatory and have breakfast and during the day we would sit and read and relax. There plenty of walks near by and of course the beach. We went to south stack well worth a visit plus Newbrough forest with plenty of different walks to do plus the island has a church on it but check the tide times. We loved staying at the bungalow we have booked it again next year. Also had a lovely text message from Gwilym and Linda wishes us a lovely holiday and there contact details if we had any issues.

"Rhos cottage was one of the best properties we have holiday in, there was no worries of COVID 19, it was spot less, warm and really cosy."
The kitchen was very well equipped ,we ate breakfast and dinner every day in the conservatory it was so comfortable and the patio is sunny nearly all day. Beds very comfortable ,nice big bathroom with superb walk in shower,can find no negatives with this beautiful quiet cottage. Thanks to Gwilym and Linda for providing this so well kept holiday cottage on the beautiful Island of Anglesey.

"Lovely clean comfortable well appointed cottage on a quiet road within walking distance of a superb beach."
With Co.op , Spar, and Tesco also within easy walking . The only slight drawback was that there was power for electric shaver and so also for electric tooth brush.Shaving was a little awquard. The welcome cake was very nice.

Spacious, spotless and immaculately decorated throughout. The owners have thought of everything to cater to for all your needs and were happy to go over and above when we stayed here.

"This is a delightful rental property."
It was very clean, spacious with all the necessary equipment and was very tastefully decorated. There was great communication from the owners and had we needed them they were easily contactable. They also left a small welcome pack which was very thoughtful. There are various facilities close by, shops, eating places a super fish and chip restaurant with gluten free menu for those needing it and the beach is within walking distance. Unfortunately the weather wasn't all it could have been but we loved our stay here and would definitely come back again.

It was spotlessly clean, warm and very, very comfortable, especially the beds which were wonderful with what we think are memory foam mattresses.
The Cottage was fully equipped with everything that we needed.
We had a wonderful holiday at Rhos Cottage, and really appreciated the gifts that were left for us.

"A lovely clean and welcoming holiday cottage."
The little extra's that were left were very much appreciated. It was nice to have a distant view of the sea, and from the conservatory and back bedroom could see right over as far as the great orme at Llandudno. We would definitely stay again.

"We booked this property relatively late for the first week of school hols."
We were shocked at the high spec finish and excellent facilities as the online photos don't do the cottage justice. The furniture, kitchen and bathroom are all lovely and top quality. The cottage is comfortable, practical and homely. The owners communicated through text which was unintrusive but still friendly and supportive. Can't praise this holiday enough.
