  • "The property was comfortable and warm but some of it is worn and tired."

The cooker hobs took ages to warm and some of the carpets look past their best. The car electric charging point worked the first time it was used and then refused to charge again. Ideally for 6 people a 2nd toilet would be really good. This needs investigating and sorting. On the whole though it’s well located for Anglesey and Snowdonia.

  • "Just returned from a lovely week away walking the property is perfectly situated to explore this beautiful island the most amazing view from the living room, friendly neighbourhood and very quiet."

The garden is well maintained, not completely secure if your dog is good at finding an escape route, this wasn't a problem for us fortunately. The property although clean and lovely and warm is very tired and would benefit from some TLC. The lounge furniture really needs addressing as does the furnishings in the downstairs bedroom, we love retro and have a few pieces of older style furniture in our home, however there comes a time when things need to be replaced especially when you have paying guests. No the property is not 5 star and the prices do reflect that however I honestly think it's time to reinvest in the properties appeal and make it feel loved once again. We would definitely return if and when improvements are made.

  • "Found the property ok but desperately in need of revamp."

Furniture very tired and worn. Agree with previous reviews, however bathroom was mould free and clean. Kitchen was very well equipped although oven was not accurate temperature wise. I ended up cooking everything on max temp and eventually it did get hot. Garden was mostly secure and both dogs thoroughly enjoyed it. The view from the lounge was excellent and we were able to see some magnificent sunrises over the bay. Loved the area and beaches. Will return to the island however we would not return to this property.

  • "Hello. We found the bungalow very dated and tired and in need of work to it."

Although it had all the kitchen items needed and it had a beautiful view, that is all that I found pleasing about it. It needs a new coat of paint on the rendering as there is algae on the front of the building and the front door needs a clean. I say this as this is the first impression we got on arrival. It did not get any better really and I have noticed that other people who have stayed there have mentioned similar things going back to 2022! However on our stay at Tanglewinds we found that the water pressure in the kitchen taps was very low indeed and the water very slow. The ceiling in the bathroom had the beginings of mould growing on it and the shower curtain had mould along the bottom to nearly half way up. That should of been changed! The shower although it worked was quite temperamental at times in regards to the water pressure. There were red wine? stains under the table in the dining room, drawers in the bedroom that wouldn't close properly, a hole in the kitchen flooring and a tear in the flooring between the washer and dryer. At the bottom of the stairs it looked like a dog had weed against the wood work and an effort had been made to clean it with bleach? The garden chairs outside need to be replaced as these are in a bad state and are filthy. I took photographs of the items I have listed. It makes me wonder, does anyone at Sykes ever physically check the properties on offer? Do the cleaners employed ever do any cleaning? and do the owners of the properties have any pride in what they own and respect for the holidaymaker who has probably worked hard and saved up to have a nice time away from home. I wish I would of stayed at home but then I wouldn't of seen the lovely view, but the lovely view is not the excuse or the reason for the rest of the property to be neglected. Christine.

Garden furniture seen better days. View from living room lovely but the room I found was very dated and depressing. The stairs which are wooden are steep and can be slippery. Shower curtain needs washing or replacing. But clean kitchen with most items you would need.

Bit 80s in the decor but personally loved it, especially the light shades in the main room. The view of the bay is fantastic, sitting in the garden with a coffee in the morning, watching the early morning sun was just magical. Very well equipped in the kitchen and the beds are ridiculously comfy-hard to get out of! Garden safe and secure for the dogs. Would definitely return to this lovely hose, really enjoyed our holiday.

It is well equipped and the beach is only a 10 minute walk away. We all slept well and found the beds comfortable. The stairs to the upstairs twin bedrooms are quite steep. Everything worked as intended and the heating kept us warm on cooler days. While the property is not modern in its style it is functional and fit for purpose. We would recommend this property to others seeking a relaxing break on Anglesey.

Tanglewinds was a lovely place to stay, very clean and comfortable with everything you needed. The views from the lounge window were fantastic, I watched the sun rise one morning and then the moon in the evening which reflected across the sea. It was in a nice location, quiet but not far to walk to the shops. We also walked to the beach which was a nice walk, although uphill on the way back. As its early in the season we were also able to take our dog on the beach for a good run which she loved. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Tanglewinds again.

For my wife and I with our large dog, it was perfect! The back garden is enclosed, all rooms are spacious, and the EV charging point was brilliant! For anyone with an electric car - no need to waste time or worry about where to charge, just plug-in over-night and head out with a full charge each day. Anglesey is a great place to explore and has lots to offer! Owners, Peter and Rebecca, were very helpful and friendly too, providing us with good information before we arrived and were happy to be contacted by phone if we needed anything during our stay! Highly recommended!

Normal SatNav didn’t take us to the correct road but the WhatThreeWords location provided was perfect. The gardens were well maintained. The house well furnished with plenty of seating and cupboard/ wardrobe space, albeit the furniture was dated. The living room seating and beds in the bedrooms were very comfortable. The view from the living room is outstanding. Sea view and also countryside view! The pictures online didn’t do it justice compared to sitting in the garden with a cup of coffee in the morning, looking out into nature. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, crockery and cooking equipment. Useful information about the house and the area was provided. The location was ideal to get up or down the coast. Although the property was within walking distance from Benllech beach or even Red Wharf Bay the various narrow roads can be tricky where no pavement is provided but having an electric car charger on the driveway of the house meant we were ready to travel anywhere around the island each morning with a fully charged battery which was a Godsend. We will certainly be looking to rent this property again in the future

  • "Great location but a few issues."

The hob in the kitchen needs replacing; microwave needs instructions and the door jams; hair in the bedroom headboards and we had to clean outside - needs a jet wash. Garden furniture filthy too so we cleaned that. We also had to clean the food bin as it was rotten at the bottom. Dead bird in the hedge out front near bins - we left that. Very steep walk down streets to the beach (lovely beach though). Yes the furniture is old but I didn't stay in the cottage much. Kitchen full of decent appliances - especially dishwasher and tumble dryer. Secure garden with awesome views of the bay and Llandudno, so good for pets but my terrier did try and get through the hedge so we put some of the chairs through and she couldn't get out. Overall enjoyed it.

The property was well equipped with all you need to prepare and cook food, although a new frying pan would be a good addition. Furniture was comfortable if a little on the old side. We quickly found a nice walk for the dog and the beach was only a short drive away. Many places to visit are close by also. The kitchen light switch was wobbly and probably needs replacing. Had everything you could wish for. Only two things let us down. Firstly, and this is unavoidable, access to the property by car is awkward. You can really only approach via an extremely narrow road which is fine if no one is coming the other way. If they are, it’s very difficult and you’ll need to reverse all the way out. Alternatively, you can go go the long way round the estate which in typical Benllech fashion is a maze of winding roads. Secondly, the chairs, sofas and particularly the beds are EXTREMELY uncomfortable, especially the single beds upstairs. I am a relatively young, fit, well travelled man who has slept in all kinds of places but am currently nursing a very sore back, as is another, older family member. The mattresses desperately need replacing. Hate to sound negative as we had a lovely time and nothing can be done about the location. But please invest in better mattresses - I am in agony!!

The property

Nestled on a quiet street in the seaside town of Benllech, is this charming two-storey bungalow adorned with a quirky pastel pink exterior, welcoming children and pets.

Tanglewinds is an elegantly classic holiday stay boasting spectacular seaside views from the back garden and family-friendly features, a perfect base for a coastal getaway with the kids.

The well-equipped kitchen greets you as you walk through the side entrance; fitted with traditional wooden features and amenities including a handy dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, it is a great space to whip up a delicious meal for your loved ones.

Unwind in the antique-style sitting room, lounging on one of the floral chairs or cream leather sofa as you decide on a film on the large TV, or pick out a book to get lost in whilst sitting next to stunning seaside views out the window.

The spacious dining area is a lovely space away from any distractions to relish in quality family time over good food and even better company.

Freshen up in the ground-floor family bathroom, taking your pick from an invigorating morning shower or a low-key relaxing evening bubble bath.

A ground-floor double bedroom is wonderfully appointed to the back of the property, benefiting from a traditional wooden cot for an extra little guest.

Withdraw up the timber staircase fitted with handrails and a stairgate at the top, finding two attractive twin rooms underneath cosy dormer sloped ceilings, featuring gorgeous neutral tones and light windows.

The garden area showcases a large verdant lawn, a pleasant area to take in the sunshine, however, be careful as the garden extends down a steep slope.

Benllech is the perfect quiet seaside town for a classic family holiday, with plenty of shops, traditional pubs and beachside cafes all within a short walk from the property.

Take a lovely stroll down to Benllech Beach, a gorgeous sandy haven where you can spend a fun day swimming, sunbathing and relaxing, but it sadly does not accept dogs, however, if you're feeling extra active, you can walk further past St. David’s Beach, across to Red Wharf bay towards LLanddona Beach and back for an Anglesey beach tour.

Red Wharf Bay is a gorgeous area for trying out thrilling watersport activities within picturesque surroundings, try sailing at Traeth Coch Sailing Club, find your inner adrenaline junkie on the RibRide adventure boat tour, or discover a newfound skill at paddleboarding.

Anglesey is a popular spot for tourists, boasting a selection of famous attractions including Beaumaris Castle, Anglesey Sea Zoo, Pili Palas Nature World, and Plas Newydd House and Gardens.

Take your family to a peaceful holiday destination at Tanglewinds, mixing fun-filled activities with a relaxing seaside break.
