This property no longer has any parking nearby we arrived to find out car park at the back is being built on when we made contact with caretaker was told to park on Tesco or Spar but we’re informed by locals that car would be clamped We had to park away from the property cross the main road with suitcases and bags on arrival and departing we would not have booked the property had we known this otherwise a lovely house in a great location

  • "A lovely property in a great location."

Slight niggles that could be easily fixed that would make it better - only 4 prosecco glasses available and lack of dishes for using when cooking. For example we made a salad and had to serve it in the colander! Also you should be aware that the dishwasher isn't working very well - we used it twice but had to re-wash most of the pots.

  • "I would definitely return to this cottage, lovely big property in a great location."

The carpark is towards the back of the property which wasn’t clear on the listing, but accessible via the back steps or a one minute walk around the corner. We never struggled to park. We had to contact the owner about an issue with the TV and he offered to come over within half an hour (as it happened we realised the leads were mixed up at the back so we sorted it… the previous occupant likely did this ) but he still popped over and even brought us a fire stick so that we could log into our Netflix account which was lovely. The road wasn’t an issue for us as everyone managed to sleep fine and the road location is reflected in the price. I wasn’t keen on the bins being located at the entrance for the entire stay but perhaps this is the only option. The area behind the property (accessible via the kitchen) is communal as other properties need to use it to access the carpark but it isn’t a useable space anyway; you have the first floor outside area for that. I only saw someone use the communal area once so we felt totally private and the house felt secure. Great to have a cafe and shops so close by too! There were a couple of things missing from the kitchen; measuring jug, baking trays and a slotted spoon. Nothing major I just would have liked to have these things. I mentioned a couple of maintenance points to the owner after our stay as the shower screen and bath plug control need screwing back into position as they are loose but I’m sure they will be fixed by now as he wouldn’t have been aware. There is also a lovely new sofa which is different from the photo! It’s a lovely family cottage and I’d highly recommend it.

  • "What a gorgeous cottage."

We felt very at home staying here. So clean and spacious. The en suite bathroom is huge. The beds and bed linen were very comfortable also. My husband actually said he can't remember the last time he slept so well. The cottage is in a great location on a main road but only steps away from a pubs and dining. The beach was a short 10 minute stroll away.

... Stairs are very narrow, hard to manage carrying a case! Parking is an issue too.... We unloaded at the takeaway opposite, but had to leave our vehicle further down the road, in free parking spaces..... I would imagine this could be an issue at busy times of year, ok in March. We did really enjoy our stay however.

The noise at night meant anyone sleeping in front bedrooms kept awake. No key in front keysafe when we got there. Sink in main bedroom didn't drain , reported to handyman in person on Sunday or Monday and never came. No hand sanitiser in container near front door.

I personally think on your description of the property I think you need to put about the steps at the back of the property that if you had mobility problems you may no be able to manage them wasn’t happy that the cleaner had gone into the property whilst we was out I spoke to the owner and she had spoke to the housekeeper and she got her days mixed up when we was leaving she shud have come straight out or even left a note we had valuables on the table, the property was great clean comfy and everything you need very close to beach and other amenities

Front bedrooms have sea views over the shop opposite but can still see the wide sweeping bay. Location is perfect with everything on your doorstep. Fantastic hosts with nothing a problem and any issues quickly sorted. I very rarely go back to the same place twice but am already looking at dates for next year.

The cottage was really well maintained and very clean. The living area and kitchen are both finished to a really high standard and there is loads of space both downstairs and in the main bedroom which is massive. Parking is available just across the road, near to shops, takeaways and the pub is close by. Short walk to the beach. Great property.

  • "The house YR Hen Fanc was really lovely inside."

Furnishings, kitchen and bathrooms were delightful. Outside was a different matter. The Patio overlooked a virtual 'building site'. with diggers and lorries working to clear away the remains of a house that had been knocked down . this went on all day covering our parked car in muck!!! I had to move the car in the end to avoid it being damaged. Also there where very noisy neighbours from both the attached house and the one underneath.....yes there is a house under the patio.... very strange smells seem to be coming from there. The patio entrance is through the Master bedroom meaning if you wanted a cup of tea, a glass of wine or lunch or even dinner this had to be brought up and down the stair through the bedroom and then down some more stairs...very awkward to say the lest. More importantly you could not leave the patio window open at night when you where in bed for security reasons.. As there weren't any other windows in the bedroom or the on-suite this meant sleeping without any fresh air and the room got very hot. There are numerous stairs you have to use to enter the property at the back, as my husband has walking difficulties he found it very exhausting getting in and out of the property to access our parked car. This did spoil our holiday and I would suggest that you put in the description of the property that it is not suitable for anyone with waking difficulties.

  • "A good cottage which was comfortable and all you would expect."

good location. Instruction manuals for all equipment would have been helpful. However I feel people should be made aware before arrival that there is a small rented flat adjoining the property underneath the cottages roof terrace. At 3.30pm in the afternoon we were on the terrace with 2 young children enjoying the sun and were asked to keep the noise down as someone in the flat was trying to sleep. This flat also has a small grassed area to the rear of the cottage which you need to walk past to get to your cars, There was a plastic container with cigarette ends stubbed out left there constantly and more unpleasant a large dog from the flat was allowed to fowl on the grass and this was not removed all holiday. Whilst this did not stop us enjoying the property it was disappointing and very unpleasant, with 2 and 4 year old children this meant we were constantly on our guard to make sure they did not get near the grassed area. I would not consider this property again.

There were no directions either to the property or to it’s parking. The postcode given leads you elsewhere in the town 2. The bedsit adjoining the house has a dog which uses the garden as a toilet. This garden was only cleared once during the week we stayed. As you can imagine the smell was unpleasant, it was visually disgusting and given that we have a small child it felt very irresponsible 3. The bedsit frequently has a very strong and suspicious smell coming out and blowing into our garden and house 4. The cottage clearly had not been cleaned to a high standard on our arrival. The floor downstairs was filthy 5. I would’ve expected basic things like hand soap, toilet roll and dishwasher necessities to be well equipped. None were

  • "The cottage was clean and tidy, in a very nice location."

The rear of the cottage is the access for at least two other properties therefore not very secure. the only access to the patio area is through the main bedroom, not very convenient when six people sharing. There is not enough seating in the lounge for six adults, although plenty in the dining areas. A few minor things missing no bread board, tin opener broken, no micro wave dishes or bowls to cook with.

Very useful to have a pub opposite and a number of shops within walking distance. Plenty of space in the cottage, lots of storage. A few little tweaks needed - hairdryer, cafetière but nothing major and it was all very clean & comfy.

  • "The house was exactly as we expected based on the description."

It was in a great location - quiet but close to the sea, a small supermarket, a pub and a selection of take away food options. The house was clean (other than a load of wet washing in the washing machine) and quite well equipped but there was a lack of comfortable seating for relaxing in the evenings and the reception on the TV was very hit and miss! The information we received prior to our stay was useful but didn't include directions of how to find the property. The email requested I rang to confirm our booking (with the owner I assume). I rang 4 times and left messages but they didn't phone back. Fortunately the house was on the main road and easy to see - the parking was more complicated and this information would have been helpful in advance. Overall we had a good time and would consider booking the property again.
