  • "Really enjoyed our stay at Anwylfa."

The house is well equipped with all the little things making a big difference, for example tea bags, vinegar, even board games, and of course the lovely wecome basket. The location was perfect with lots of interesting walks nearby. Would also recommend the local chip shop. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Close to the village and coastal walks. Lligwy beach was an easy 20 minute coastal walk. Easy to find, well equipped. Lots of really well thought-out information in the visitors book and the surprise welcome pack had treats for us and our pooch. The chip shop in the village was lovely and the lovely ladies in the RNLI shop were local and knowledgeable. We only stayed 3 nights but will come again for a longer stay.

The accommodation was comfortable & exceptionally clean. A thoughtful welcome basket awaited us even had treats for our dogs!Very near to Lligwy beach which we bodied several times with our grandson to meet our other grandchildren who were staying nearby. Very lucky with the weather the only off day was Monday & we went to the Sea zoo & Beaumaris . Had a couple of pub meals at the Trafford Arms in Moelfre can recommend service was excellent. Went to watch the lifeboat being launched from its station at Moelfre for its regular practice session great to see & even better that it wasn’t going to an emergency on this occasion. We will be back such a lovely place to holiday!

  • "Anwylfa is a wonderfully comfortable home where we spent a very wet & stormy week over New Year!"

We did manage a few outings but staying in was no hardship as it was like a home from home. Kitchen was well stocked, the beds very comfy & the setting of the house was lovely with only a very short walk into Moelfre village. We had a problem with the side gate which Andrea sorted very quickly. I would definitely recommend this house to others.

  • "This was a lovely warm comfortable property which was spotlessly clean on arrival."

It has a large conservatory overlooking a beautiful garden with views of the sea. My only disappointment was the size of the kitchen which was very small with little worktop space which made it difficult when cooking a family meal. Also needed some small cereal bowls for breakfast and a tea pot. It would also benefit from spare bin bags, kitchen roll etc. Only small things but would have made a difference and improved the kitchen facilities.

one of the other clients said they received a welcome pack - we weren't the chosen ones as no pack for us!!! lovely big fluffy towels & comfortable beds. unfortunately the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't appear to be working & the set of drawers in the hall are falling apart, we didn't dare touch them. nice enclosed garden for our dogs to be safe in, always good in our eyes.

Thank you for your helpful feedback - we are glad you enjoyed your stay and will check on the items you have raised - note that some guests turn the extractor fan off - the switch is on the landing above the bathroom door. We apologise for the lack of a welcome pack - there should have been one and we will raise this with the housekeeper. Glad your dogs enjoyed the garden! Property Owner

  • "The house is a little compact and basic but close to local amenities."

Cons: There was water ingress into the master bedroom, following rainfall. Likely to be the flashing from the chimney stack but possibly the gutters. This was reported to menaiholidays. The house is suitable for one family (I.e parents with children & not for 4-5 adults). The constant dripping in the conservatory (from condensation as well as a leak) was aggravating and caused damp on the sofas. The outbuilding guest wc had an odour (before use). The Pros. The location to the local amenities.

Thank you for your feedback – we were unaware of the issue in the master bedroom and know that there was extremely heavy rain during your stay - we will be investigating the problem as soon as possible along with the ongoing work on the conservatory. We do not have an outbuilding so assume you are referring to the downstairs WC which will also be checked. We want our guests to have great holidays and will always deal promptly with any issues if they are reported to Menai or us during your stay. Really sorry it didn't fit your needs, we have had many adult bookings who have enjoyed the property very much. Property Owner

As you leave the main road, just up on the right you’ll come to Anwylfa, with plenty of off-road parking for up to three cars.

Head through the front door up one step and into the porch with plenty of space for leaving coats and shoes at the door, ready to make yourself feel instantly at home.

At the end of a bracing day, discover the living room, complete with a large three seater sofa and a further two seater sofa, so plenty of space for all the family.

Here, there is a gas fire for those cold nights, and a dining area just behind with modern table and chairs to seat four, the dining table is situated next to the sliding patio doors, so you can enjoy views over the beautiful outdoor area as you relax and enjoy a meal together.

From here, slip into the kitchen, fully equipped with all the amenities for a restful stay including fridge freezer, washing machine and dishwasher.

You can access the garden from the kitchen as well as the patio doors, which open into a bright conservatory with comfortable seating, and plenty of space to unwind after a day exploring North Wales.

As you step out of the conservatory onto the decking with table and chairs, there is plenty of space to enjoy the warm sunshine, with an extra decked area with more seating, perfectly positioned to enjoy those beautiful sea views.

As the evening draws to a close, take the stairs up to find three well-presented bedrooms, comprising of a super king-size, a twin and a single, each one designed with a lovely décor, quality linens and storage space for keeping all of your things.

Anwylfa is perfectly situated to enjoy all that the picturesque village of Moelfre and the east coast of Anglesey, North Wales has to offer, a short stroll from the property will lead you straight to the beautiful pebbly beach, a number of cafes and takeaways, gift shops and convenience stores to keep you stocked up during your stay.

Slightly further if Menai Bridge, a small town and home to the Menai suspension bridge built in 1826, overlooking the Menai Strait, with plenty of restaurants serving locally caught seafood whilst you enjoy the stunning views across the Strait.

In the opposite direction will take you to Holyhead, the largest town in the Isle of Anglesey and a major port town serving Ireland.

Make sure you visit South Stack Lighthouse & visitor centre, accessed via a descent of 400 steps down the mainland cliffs, and offering incredible views out to sea from the north west tip of Wales when you get there.

Beaumaris Castle is also just a short drive away, a 13th Century Castle and known as the greatest castle that was never built, steeped in history and an architectural masterpiece, it even has its own dock.

The National Trust – Plas Newydd House and Gardens is a short drive away, built in 1470, where you can take a stroll through the colourful gardens and marvel at the beautiful views over Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) and the Menai Strait.
