  • "From the moment we arrived to a house that hadn’t been cleaned."

The house on arrival was disgusting. Contacted the number and after numerous excuses (cleaner stuck in traffic!!) we were asked to go to a local pub and wait! (2 small children in tow). We finally got in to the house that had been sort of cleaned probably in a rush!! After the first day we used the washing machine that didn’t work so trapped our wet clothes in. They sent a maintenance person to repair so tried again and did the same. 2 days later they came to fix the machine. Just a bad experience from the start unfortunately. I have to say I have stayed here once before and had no trouble and the EV charger is a good addition. I rebooked the house because the first experience was ok but probably wouldn’t book again. The response from contacting customer service was ok. Really disappointed when you pay good money to enjoy your summer holiday and just get hassle.

Thank you for staying at Awel deg. We are sincerely sorry for the two unfortunate occurrences that impacted your holiday. Regarding the washing machine, we arranged for a technician to visit the property as soon as it was first reported and the problem was resolved within 48 hours. The washing machine is only 3 years old and the issue was caused by a blocked filter. We have now added a check of the filter to our maintenance schedule to reduce the risk of this happening again. We appreciate your frustration with check-in. We notified you prior to the check-in time of 4pm that unfortunately the house keeper had got held up in particularly heavy holiday traffic and there would be a slight delay. This has never happened previously and we will discuss with the house keeper how best to reduce the risk of this happening again. We can only apologise for your experience, and hope the rest of the holiday was enjoyable. Property Owner

Many thanks for staying at Awel deg, we hope you had a lovely break. Sorry to hear you had issues with the doors/window & thank you for bringing these to our attention. They can swell slightly when the sun is directly on them, we will check them and adjust where necessary. Property Owner

We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the property. It’s nicely furnished and the kitchen well equipped. Appreciated the luxury of having a separate electric shower as well as a family bathroom. Heated towel rails always a bonus. He property is in the perfect location for exploring Anglesey and North Wales. Would highly recommend staying at this property.

  • "Great location with easy access to local sights."

Property is well-presented and well-stocked with all you might need in a home away from home. Spotlessly clean with comfy beds meant we slept like babies the whole time we were there. The agency were very responsive to our queries. A real bonus to have access to a charger which was relatively straightforward to operate. Only minor niggle was the shower pressure was a little lower than we're used to. TV reception wasn't always great but we don't really watch much TV so not a huge issue for us, and we werer still able to acces programmes through Catch-up and live streaming. Great holiday property that we would not hesitate to return to!

  • "We had a lovely time at 1 Awel Deg."

It's a very new property and seems to be very eco-friendly, it's in a small development with around 10 other houses and has a nice feel to it. There's parking for one vehicle and an electric vehicle charger (which requires a cable). The free charging was absolutely fantastic and meant we didn't have to worry about finding a charger whatsoever, great addition to the house. The bedrooms were great and main was massive! Loads of natural light and a nice dining/living area to watch TV. Had no faults with the property other than a missed bin collection in the communal area which turned into a bit of a state, thankfully didn't impact the holiday. Easy access to all main roads, village with shops a 4 min drive away and a take away accross the road! Perfect holiday would recommend!

  • "Lovely holiday home that was spotless on our arrival, comfortable and well maintained."

I’ve read feedback about the door lock and hot water but we had no issues whatsoever with either. The outlook over the golf course wasn’t quite as expected but otherwise the description was really accurate. Whilst towels are provided, they are definitely not bath sheets and I regret not taking our own towels. Additionally there wasn’t a bath mat in the upstairs bathroom and there was no loo roll - luckily I had taken some but I’ve never been in a holiday cottage where there isn’t any toilet paper provided. Great location for exploring the top half of Anglesey and a holiday home I would be happy to recommend with the advice to BYO bath towels and loo roll!

Many thanks for the feedback and for choosing to stay at Awel deg, we hope you had a lovely stay! We would expect there to be toilet rolls and bathmats in both bathrooms and we are sorry this wasn’t the case for your visit. We have been in touch with the housekeeper to ensure this is the case in future. We are also reviewing the linen provision with the housekeeper based on your feedback. Many thanks once again for staying at Awel deg and we hope you are able to visit again soon. Property Owner

Hi Martin, many thanks for choosing to stay at Awel deg and for taking the time to provide feedback. I am pleased you liked the house. I am sorry you experienced problems with the hot water. We have had the electrician round to understand the underlying cause and now have this resolved. A few people have also mentioned that they found the front door stiff and we are looking into making this easier to use.
