We were greeted by the owners Justin and Ffion who made us feel very welcome, we also had a welcome gift of wine, flowers and Welsh Raspberry Splits very nice touch. My main purpose for our visit was to re visit my childhood haunts and show them to my daughters. My Grandmother had kept a farm at Penrhos, Holyhead, so l showed them all around the beauty spots. It was also a good base for visiting the National Trust properties Plas Newydd and Penrhyn Castle. Weather not too good but we did all we intended to do.Thank you for the loan of your lovely house.

  • "In forty (40) years of holiday cottages this was the best we have had."

Although rather old school in build, the quality and spaciousness shine through which coupled with a superb location works for a great adult holiday. Local beaches at Benlech and Red Wharf are great and there is easy access to Caernarfon and Llandudno for the bigger centres. Snowdonia is also within easy reach.

Property was clean, tidy, well presented, had a lovely garden and is well equipped with everything you could need in a holiday property. Helpful owners next door if you needed them but never intrusive. Lovely base to explore Anglesey and plenty to see.

  • "The photos advertising this property are misleading as it no longer looks this smart and immaculate."

Weeds all over pathway, garden overgrown and grass was full of thistles (would not allow children out with bare feet) as well as needing to be cut. The "wow" factor was definitely not there. Inside was furnished to a good standard and had all you could need, but the stench of drains in the kitchen and bathroom was really unpleasant and needs attention, most off putting! I'd say it was in need of a deep clean and some TLC. I know it's made clear that the property is adjacent to the owners, but wasn't expecting to open the bedroom blinds to find people right outside, or to be eating a meal in the dining room with people wandering past as it overlooks their garden. Not a major issue, but maybe make it clear in property description that twin room, bathroom, dining room and utility all look straight into owners garden (we were wary not to intrude on their privacy as much as concerned for our own). However, it did not detract from the peace and quiet.

  • "No DVD player in lounge - only in main bedroom TV."

There wasn't any fire starter supply - this was rectified the following day after we contacted the agent. The cottage itself was fabulous with very comfortable main bed and sofas in the lounge. Found property easily. Great places to go to in any direction from location. Arrived mid evening and had informed agent of this. Heating was on when we arrived but hot water was not - no instructions for either. So had to wait a while after activating program for a warm wash. Electric shower - so were able to have a hot shower in abscence of hot water. Kitchen: all tea towels and the oven glove had not been washed prior to our stay; hob and sink and all cupboard shelves and fronts were extremely grimy; we cleaned the areas we needed and set dishwasher that night with all the crockery/cutlery we expected to use and also the washing up sink drainer (which was especially dirty). Not enough drinking glasses or small/medium plates esp if 4 people were in residence. Sorry for criticism re cleanliness (which is paramount), but if nobody informs you, how do you know..? Such a fabulous cottage apart from the above.

  • "The property is in first class condition with everything you need for a holiday that meets your desires for comfort."

Ample wardrobe space, excellent shower, perfect utility, spotless, and attentive hosts. Beautiful welcome sck on arrival. Observations of note: 1. WiFi is slow. Can watch Netflix but don't expect to run games, multiple phones, etc. Not much can be done because of the location so please be aware. Also you need to connect to three access points due to the thickness of the walls. 5 mins and one password, so not too bad.... But also be aware that wandering around the house means the connection to WiFi needs to switch access points so don't be surprised if the connection drops for a few seconds between rooms... 2. Just a few mor kitchen utensils would help. Not many glasses and cooking utensils - needs more, but we did manage okay. 3. It is not simple to locate. The post code takes you to nearby caravan sites... Follow the instructions carefully and look for a 'property name plaque'at the head of the drive. Ffion is very helpful and would guide you in if you were stuck. We had a wonderful week and would highly recommend this property and host for its quality and peace.

Having young children it’s sometimes a struggle to find somewhere that’s completely child friendly but being all on 1 level, carpet in the bedrooms and a large enclosed garden this was perfect. We could let our 3 year old run free without worry. Perfect location to explore Anglesey and even though you get the peace of feeling like you are in the middle of nowhere Benllech is only a mile away for anything you might need.
