Stunning, large garden looking across to Snowdonia- the dog loved it, and was perfectly safe as he is not a jumper. The shower pressure was absolutely fine. We found we had practically everything provided that we needed when we arrived, and the information book was accurate and helpful. Would recommend the dog friendly Indian restaurant in Llangefni- “Garlic”- first time we’ve ever been able to take the dog to an Indian! It’s been a great week, with loads to see and do!

We liked the way the character of the building has been kept with modern alternatives for the windows, beds etc. The views are wonderful and the garden is very suitable for small children and dogs. We misplaced our keys and Howard, the owner, was very understanding and quickly got a spare set to us. We cannot thank him enough with how he dealt with it.

  • "It’s a lovely property, very well furnished and all necessities were available."

Few gripes though as the mattresses are lumpy and uncomfortable and as other guests have mentioned to shower temperature is not consistent as goes hot and cold quickly. For my mother it was unsafe. The shower head does not work effectively and needs replacing. The snug room is smelling of damp. Beautiful area and all in driving distance.

We are sorry to hear you felt there were issues with the property during your stay. Reporting any concerns during your stay allows us to rectify any problems promptly. Our housekeeper found the shower to be in full working order, with a simple switch between 'low' and 'high' power modes altering the stream accordingly. Our appliance instructions, including for the shower, are all to be found within the property. The property, being Victorian and rural, does need good ventilation. Guests can assist in this by opening bathroom windows after taking showers, and elsewhere following heavy downpours. The housekeeper also found there were no issues with the mattresses, which are pocket sprung, of medium-firmness and which previous guests have reported as comfortable, restful and giving a good night's sleep. It may be that during your stay, the bedding 'bunched' momentarily, with movement. Thank you for your feedback and we trust this answers your queries. Property Owner

Shower not as bad as others have mentioned (need to ensure washing machine and other taps are not on). Back garden is incredible and the tune the washing machine plays once finished was loved by the children.

  • "We enjoyed our stay and had a lovely holiday."

The cottage is well equipped and the owners have put a lot of effort in trying to make sure that everything that you may need is available. The one thing that seriously lets the cottage down is the shower which is awful. The shower head constantly slides down the riser so it’s impossible to actually stand under it properly and the shower is little more than a dribble . We would consider rebooking the cottage in the future but only if the shower was replaced with one that works properly

  • "We had a wonderful break."

The cottage was comfortable enough with incredible views. I was impressed that the owner was able to get additional towels to us on a bank holiday. The only issue was the shower. It’s awful. A dribble at times and needs replacing. Unfortunate Ly despite raising that on our first day we had no response from Sykes other than to say it had been reported to local office. This was the only thing that lets the cottage down. Thanks

  • "Lovely cottage in a rural setting."

A wonderful outlook over fields! We had a wonderful Christmas period and New Years at the cottage and were greeted with a bottle of cava and some chocolate biscuits which was a nice surprise. The only thing that let the cottage down was the shower which didn’t work at all! Thankfully we had family on the island so could use their shower so we managed. However we didn’t contact the owners to inform them of the shower at the time as we felt it needed a new one altogether and didn’t want work being carried out at the property during our stay. It was also quite chilly upstairs even with the heaters on but every bed had electric heated blankets which were a godsend! The weather was extremely wet and windy during our stay which may have been why it was cold? Overall a charming cottage with lots of character and the kitchen was fully stocked. If the shower is changed to a more modern one then we would definitely consider booking here again, although in the summer time ☺️.

  • "The location of the cottage was perfect and lovely views of the countryside."

However we were very disappointed with the cleanliness of the cottage. Dirt and grime mixed with very old spiders webs behind the furniture and, worse, behind and underneath the beds and also on the surfaces of the bed frames. We spent a couple of hours vacuum cleaning these areas so that we could sleep. The bed sheet on the main double bed had blood stains and hairs. We are not convinced that the sheets were replaced after the last occupier. Not pleasant at all. In the bathroom the shower curtain was in need of urgent renewal with dirt and mould and old soap covering the lower half. It was obvious that the cleaners are just cleaning the main visible surfaces and are not paying attention to detail. With hind-sight we should have contacted the owners on arrival and demanded that they correct the issues. We are reasonable people and do not demand 100% perfection but this was really unacceptable. It is a real shame that our holiday, the first since lockdown, was spoilt in this way. Clearly the cottage has great potential and the facilities are good. But the cleanliness was quite appalling.

We regret that the customers did not raise this issue at the time so we could have rectified any problems. We are also sorry to hear that the cleanliness of the cottage was below the customers standard. We are speaking with our cleaning team regarding the issues raised and doing a personal visit to inspect the premises this week. Property Owner

Perfect area not far to visit the beautiful beaches Anglesey had to offer. Best beach we found on this visit Benllech and the cafe Bay Cafe right on the sea front overlooking the bay, dog friendly too. You can walk to Red Wharf Bay but watch the tide. Asda only 8 mins by car, honesty box up the road for fresh farm eggs, butchers in the town near Asda. Watch the bats at night over the back of the cottage. Will definitely visit again

The cottage location is absolutely stunning and a great jump off point for visiting the island's attractions. The cottage had everything we needed and the milk/biscuits was a great welcoming touch. Both being fairly tall, we found the main bedroom bed a bit small but appreciate it's the appropriate size for the room which wasn't built for 6ft plus folk! Other than that, we'd recommend the cottage to others and had a lovely time there.

The nearby town of Llangefni, has a good selection of shops and supermarkets including home delivery. The large, enclosed garden is perfect to allow children and dogs to play safely. We were surprised the top bunk bed didn’t have a fixed guard rail, but later found a folding bed guard under the twin bed. The only time we needed to contact the owner was when we realised had left something behind, they were very helpful in arranging the return of the item. We would be happy to stay again at this cottage or at the adjacent property (of the same owner).

We enjoyed cosy evenings in the lounge whilst the children played games in the open plan family area. The house was everything we had hoped for. • "We really loved our stay at Ty Capel Bryntwrog."

When we arrived it was gloriously sunny and the property just looked really pretty from the outside. When I went round the back of the property, the view was simply stunning. Upon entering the place smelled amazing and was nice and clean. We have two young children so the open place of the main living area and kitchen really worked for us. And the little snug area was a great place to let the kids play on their own in a safe place. We were welcome with some scones in the kitchen. When we saw them we drooled, because after a 2.5 hour drive we really fancied a brew and a snack. And the scones just looked amazing. However, we were then a little disappointed that we couldn't find anything to put on them. We couldn't find any cream or jam. So unfortunately we had to wait until the following day before we could enjoy them. I just think it if scones were left, then it would have been nice to have everything else to go with them. That's our only main criticism really. A couple of the nights were quite cold and we enjoyed some warmth from the log burner which was lovely. Made the place feel even cosier. The property's central location to the island meant that we were no further about 30 minutes or so from anywhere on the island. Overall, we really loved our stay, the property was perfect and we would definitely look to try and stay here again. For next time though, is it possible you can do something about the haze so we can see the stunning mountains a little clearer? *Joke :)*

Excellent facilities with wonderful outdoor space which our dog, Florence, adored! The views from every window were spectacular. The welcome cup cakes were a lovely touch and absolutely delicious. The directions to the cottage were good, but it might be worth noting that the Sat Nav indicates you have arrived at the farm approx 700m before the cottage and you need to carry on. The road is interesting, but thankfully we did not encounter any tractors or HGV’s this visit! A perfect weekend retreat. Thank you.

  • "There was just one thing I would like to raise as an improvement at this property."

It was listed as having an enclosed garden. As we always take our 2 cocker spaniels with us this aspect is really important to us When we arrived the property had a lovey large back garden but there was an open route through to the front garden. From here the dogs could have escaped on to the road just in front of the property. I did manage to block the route off using the outside garden furniture but not ideal To me an enclosed garden means pets cannot escape and they are safe to be left in the space without supervision for short periods of time eg early morning and last thing at night This would be very helpful to pet owners in general I think this aspect and the fact there were no wardrobes were the only 2 points that let it down. Apart from this it is a first class place to stay Thank you Graeme

Nestled in a tranquil countryside setting on Anglesey, there’s the cycle route 566 close by, as well as a lake, sweeping views of Snowdonia and lots of lovely walks. The living space is open plan and includes the kitchen, dining and sitting areas.

The kitchen has all you need with an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and toaster.

The round dining table seats six people.

The cosy seating area has comfortable sofas set around a multi fuel stove to add warmth, a T and DVD player.

French doors lead out onto the patio and large back garden. There is a separate snug which is a lovely room with an original bookcase with books of local interest, maps, adult and children's fiction as well as games and a TV.

You will enjoy relaxing in here. Stairs from the hallway lead up to three bedrooms - one double room, one twin room and a room with full sized bunks.

Also on this floor is a family bathroom with bath and shower over, loo, wash hand basin and heated towel rail. At the front of the holiday cottage is a small enclosed courtyard.

At the back of the cottage is a large garden laid to lawn with patio area, garden furniture and picnic bench.

There is ample parking available. If there are more than six in your party you can also rent out Capel Bach next door which sleeps seven.
