  • "Plas y Brain is a great house in a really peaceful and private location."

There’s plenty of room in the house and outside. The garden was great for our dog. This is a great spot for star gazing too as there is little to no light pollution in the surrounding area. The house was warm and spotlessly clean when we arrived. The kitchen has lots of worktop and cupboard space, and it is well equipped; although, a few extra dinner and side plates would be good. The fridge is about the size of an under counter fridge. We would have benefitted from a larger fridge as we took a week’s worth of shopping with us but couldn’t fit it all in. The shops in Benllech aren’t far though, so I wouldn’t take as much fresh food next time. We loved the large kitchen table. It was great for dining and playing games on. There was plenty of room in the large hallway when all 7 of us were trying to get shoes on and get out of the house. Some coat hooks/coat stand here would be beneficial. We used the shelves in the cupboards for coats and luckily had dry weather, so it didn’t matter too much for us. The games room was good fun and enjoyed by all (age range from 9-77 years!). The stair gate made it easy to keep the dog downstairs as requested by the owners and there was a large space under the stairs area to put her crate. A point to note for visitors is to take a plug attachment to charge your electric toothbrush as there aren’t any shaver points. We had a lovely family holiday here (lots of walking on the nearby beaches and coastal path followed by playing games at the house) and although we had really nice weather, we feel like the house would have been a good space if we’d had to stay in. We will definitely stay at Plas y Brain again the next time we visit Anglesey.

An excellent property within a first class location. The quality of the decor and the facilities within the property were extremely good. • "We’ve enjoyed a lovely week in this beautiful house."

It accommodated our three generations easily and was a great base to explore the countryside and stunning beaches. We were very lucky to have a week of sunshine! The house had everything we needed and is lovely and clean. Our only recommendation would be for mirrors with sockets in the two king rooms. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed lots of games around the large kitchen table and in the games room. We all made friends with the cows and sheep in the fields and our dog enjoyed the garden and walks along the country lanes. Not far to travel to get to pubs, shops and takeaways. We’ve had a great time. Thank you!

That's so nice. Sounds like you had an amazing time with your family! Property Owner

  • "We loved staying at Plas y Brain."

The house was a lot bigger than it looked in the photos. Google maps tried to take us some other route which would have lead through the back of the farm, so be warned. You are best to use St Peter's Church as a destination. The views from all of the bedrooms are great, especially the main bedroom which has a window seat. We had sheep come really close to the house and there are views of what I assume to be Red Wharf Bay in the distance. We did have an minor issue with the dishwasher not working, but Dylan came later the same day and fixed it. My wife also got locked in the on-suite bathroom as the doorknob didnt work on the inside. All in all, a lovely house and very close to Red wharf Bay, a few pub restaurants (Four Crosses had the best food for us)

So much room for us as a 3 generation family. Lovely comfy beds. Fabulous farmhouse kitchen with everything you need, we cook most meals on holiday and didn’t want for anything…..BBQ was a bonus. Great sized gardens, our dog loved the freedom of being off lead outside. Thankyou to the hosts for sharing your lovely property.

The beds are all comfortable, beautiful views and loved talking to the sheep everyday. We did a lot of our own cooking and their is a good range of cooking pans and dishes but the vegetable peeler was a bit hard to use as it was broken and the tin opener was also a bit hard to use but I have got arthritis in my hands but checking equipment is working is just a bit frustrating when your hands don't work. Thanks Dylan and will defiantly be back.

Thank you, we'll get a new peeler and tin opener. You were great guests, see you soon hopefully! Property Owner

  • "Plas Y Brain was a lovely house to use as our base."

There were 5 of us plus 2 dogs. The house itself was large with so much room for everyone. The kitchen was equipped with everything you need although maybe the addition of a caffetierre would have been the icing on the cake! The games room was a great bonus for the evenings with the mini pool table causing great fun as the balls rolled into the same position due to the surface not being quite flat. We didn’t really find the local walks as only had time one day and got chased by the cows. They were beautiful though and inquisitive once we were on the other side of the fence. The attractions we went to were just stunning and everything is so quick to get to. Seeing Puffins and Seals were our highlights. I would highly recommend a stay here, so peaceful, all you could hear was cows, sheep and the birds tweeting.

Lovely feedback, glad you had fun with the crazy pool and the cows Property Owner

We loved the space and had to toss coins for who got the double with the amazing bathroom. The weather was awful even by Welsh standards but we can't blame you for that. We would have loved to have been able to hang out in the garden but the most we managed was half an hour. However the place is in a great location for Red Wharf Bay and access to Pentraeth, Benllech and Moelfre . We would definitely go back.

The house is huge and extremely comfortable with two lounge areas as well as a large dining kitchen and games room. The beds are very comfortable and there are huge wardrobes in every bedroom. The weather was very cold, rainy and windy but we were all warm inside the house. We had our dog with us who loved the large garden and the stair gate at the bottom of the stairs was very helpful in keeping him downstairs as requested by the owners. Dylan was very helpful and always on hand to offer advice and ask if we needed anything to help make our stay more enjoyable. We would love to return one day

Very clean property. Two separate living areas for multi generational living. Nice welcome pack with tea. coffee, sugar, milk and shortbread. There was also cleaning items. Beds and pillows very comfy, the quilt was a bit too warm for me but that's just my preference, not a problem I took the quilt out of the cover and just used the cover. Fantastic views from all sides. Quiet location so if you are looking to get away for a truely relaxing break this is the place for you. The garden is for most part secure but if you have an adventurous dog you would need to monitor this. Not a problem for us we have sleepy lazy dogs. It's close enough to two beaches, just 10 mins in the car. We had an issue with the cooker, contacted the owner who arrived within 20 mins, problem solved. Highlight of the day for the kids was the cows coming in to the field next to the house, they even named a few :-) Worst thing about the house was having to leave. We LOVED it. Can't wait to return. Peaceful and tranquil location within easy reach of local amenities and attractions. Immediate area is farming land so pleasant to see the livestock and also the abundant wildlife. Owner/ caretaker was very friendly, helpful and responsive but also gave us our privacy. We stayed with multiple generations of the same family and as such found the house and grounds good for all ages. Many bbqs and family gathering for meals were had. We had a good spell of weather but had we not we feel the house would have still satisfied us all. Ps. Our only suggestion which is not a criticism but more personal preference, would be a comfy chair or window seat in each of the bedrooms, to help soak up the views - otherwise we have no complaints and would likely return as it is a good standard, clean, good layout for large multi age group family, fairly priced and well located for both exploring anglesey and / or staying in and relaxing with family. Thank you to Dylan & co. We really enjoyed our stay.

Thank you Sherilyn for the great feedback. It was a pleasure to host you and your family. Thank you for leaving the house in such a clean order. Multiple generation family holidays are the most unforgettable and special, I'm glad we could cater somewhat to that experience. Very spacious, we had a very comfortable stay. But could do with modernising. The only thing that marred our stay was the gas smell coming from the boiler in the utilities room, some days the smell was overwhelmingly strong. We had to close the door and open the windows every time we went into the kitchen. Plus there was no third bathroom, it was just a downstairs toilet. Having said that I would recommend this property, if you want peace and quiet and a relaxing break. We met the owner, who was a lovely chap and said something will be done about the gas smell.

Whilst secluded it is only 10-15minutes to the stunning Red Wharf Bay with its famous Ship Inn and the Bistro or even Benllech with its sandy beech and all the amenities you need. During our stay we regularly saw red kite, raven, pheasant, great tit, blue tit, robins, rabbits and even a red squirrel on the country lane and on a night one could listen to tawny owl and watch bats. The above being the case I think more could be done to attract wildlife into the garden, with perhaps a bird feeding station or perhaps a few trees ands shrubs to attract butterflies and birds (e.g. rowan) but this is a very minor point as there is already plenty of wildlife in the immediate area.

The games room in the tower was also a great success as we all enjoyed playing the ‘football’. The famous Red Wharf Bay is only about 3 miles away and it is also well located for visiting Beaumaris and Plas Newydd. There are also some good eating places close by and we would recommend The Beachcomber restaurant at Benllech for Portuguese hanging grilled skewers and The Tavern on the Bay at St David’s caravan park for excellent food and wonderful views over the bay.
