"Lovely stay, spacious house, close to the beach and amenities"
-
"Really lovely house and location only 2 minutes walk from the small beach in Cemaes Bay and just a few minutes further to the bigger beach, and a choice of pubs, cafes and delicious fish and chips."
The house is very well equipped and lovely and warm, really cosy as the weather was getting a bit chillier. Couple of minor glitches with the tv/dvd remote controls and awkward shower temperature control but nothing serious. We would go back again if we could but sadly no dogs allowed after November.

"A tired property in need of upgrading especially the cooker, back yard."
It would help if the proprietor stayed for a weekend A lovely position on a lovely Island.

"Gorphwysfa is a truly beautiful property in a truly beautiful location that could be a beautiful holiday cottage but it’s not for these reasons ~ Overall cleanliness is very poor, particularly in the kitchen and dining room."
Kitchen is under equipped with dreadful quality cutlery and utensils. I cook a main meal for my family every single day on holiday and the kitchen in Gorphwysfa is one of the worst I’ve used. Poor quality is the theme throughout the property with many things broken including all the taps, one toilet seat, the heater in the sitting room and the storage heaters didn’t work. The shower tray in the en-suite fills with water so quickly you can’t complete a shower without turning it off for a while to allow it to empty as the drain hole so clearly needs cleaning. On our last day the cleaner arrived very early and entered the property without asking before our 10 o’clock checkout time. Overall it was a huge disappointment because we love Cemaes Bay and were looking forward to our holiday immensely.
Hi There, we are very sorry to see this review, we wished you would have contacted us during your stay, we would have happily reattended and we are sure that we would have rectified all of these problems for you. The storage heaters are turned off in summer but again, we would have easily been able to come and get these on for you if you had let us know. We are always able to help any situation if we were made aware at the time. Kind regards Property Owner

"A beautiful house in a perfect location."
We had a brilliant stay with access to everything we needed. The property was clean and well equipped. The bay itself was fantastic, with a well-stocked shop, brilliant beach shack for ice creams/snacks and several pubs within minutes walk of the house.

"Amazing property, perfect location a real home from home we can’t wait to return."

"The house and garden were lovely and clean (especially with no smell of previous dogs)."
The area was great - exactly as relaxing as we wanted. The kitchen equipment needs a little updating and the stove/oven is a little wobbly. The beds were quite uncomfortable (but that may be our preferences). Part way through the week there was an issue with the overhead tank and hot water system in the bathroom and we spent half a night mopping up water... It took us quite a while to contact he owner due to the very poor phone reception in the area, but she responded quickly once we spoke to her. Luckily we could manage without hot water for the rest of our stay. It would be a great idea to add to the description that phone reception on he island is dodgy (at best) and that the WiFi was also quite slow. Overall - a lovely house but is tired and needs TLC.

"This was a lovely old house in a great location."
Very spacious and we would stay there again. Just a few things that would make it more comfortable for visitors. The storage heaters were switched off when we arrived and took 24 hours to warm up so the first day was very cold. They were quite hard to control. The house is nicely furnished but the kitchen lets it down being small and with an old fashioned cooker. A more modern cooker would be good. The bed in the front ensuite bedroom was uncomfortable. It had a king-size frame but with a smaller mattress which didn't fit properly and we found it very soft.

"A lovely house in a great location."
Clean, comfortable and lovely decor

"Lovely spacious house in good location , however there is only 1 parking space and not 2 as advertised , the next door neighbour told us to move second car ."
Both the showers are tricky to get the temperatures correct with very poor flow. However once warmed up the property was very warm and snug. The cooker was quite old and let the rest of the kitchen down , however there was plenty of crockery and utensils provided.

"We had a lovely week here it is a lovely house which was clean, comfortable and warm with good facilities."
Shop and public house within walking distance. The good weather helped as we like walking and birdwatching. There was only three of us but for a larger group using all bedrooms a wardrobe in the second double bedroom would be of benefit.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gorphwysta."
A beautiful and spacious house in an ideal ‘sea view’ location. We will definitely return.

"Beautiful location and property, few steps from the beach, stunning views."
-
"Loved the property bright and airy with plenty of room for a family."
The location - Cemaes Bay was a delight, enjoyed exploring the Coastal Paths and isolated beaches then returning to the house for a restorative drink on the patio watching the sun set. Wonderful.
