  • "We loved the location of Melody, Cemaes bay is beautiful and the property is a very nice house with nice fixtures and fittings."

However that being said the people in before us had caused damage in the main bathroom meaning we could not use it for the duration of our stay. We were advised by the owner this would be resolved on the Sunday or Monday. The handyman arrived the day before we left on the Friday at an inconvenient time, we therefore advised him to come back the following day as we were checking out. Upon arrival the garden was full of dog poo and poorly maintained and the cleaning of the property was very poor with food and sweets, dead bugs etc underneath sofas and beds. I contacted Sykes on numerous occasions to enquire whether the bathroom was going to be fixed and heard nothing back. We provided photographs and told them about the poor standard of cleaning, overgrown garden, problems with EV charger etc. Ultimately we booked this property as it had 3 bathrooms, EV charger, hot tub etc, however we couldn’t use the facilities we required and paid for. Things happen, Needless to say we would not recommend.

  • "Very clean and comfortable accommodation."

Plenty of comfortable seating for a large family. Perfect accommodation if traveling with somebody that is not good on stairs as there is a comfortable downstairs double bedroom and adjacent shower room. House is conveniently located a short distance from the beach and cafes. There is a very small Morrisons which has the basics but for a larger shop you would need to travel out of Cemaes Bay. I would highly reccommend this house.

  • "Firstly thank u to Sykes and the owners for being flexible in allowing us to amend the booking date due to the loss of my mum-in-law."

Beautiful spotlessly clean house, easily fits 3x cars on the drive. Bathroom fittings and decor are very clean and modern, powerful hot showers, could have done with some spare bath towels and toilet rolls. We loved the furniture in the bedrooms, note the middle bedroom bed is a bit creaky. Open plan lounge, diner, kitchen perfect for a big group. Nice big garden, the decked area is lovely, the rest of the garden doesn’t match the modern house. Suggest the description for the property recommends people bring beach towels to use after the hot tub. House had everything we needed, I was pleased there was a vacuum as the hallway got sandy from our shoes. It was a bonus to find cling film, tin foil, hand wash, washing up scourer, dishcloth, washing up liquid, small supply of coffee, tea, sugar, milk. Owner kindly rang me on day 2 to see if we were ok and to explain about a loose toilet seat that she was awaiting replacement of. We met the cleaners as we were leaving, very friendly and even they said they love the house. Would recommend this property, the area is beautiful but quiet, it had enough for us for 3x days. We visited Beaumaris (40min), Penmon Point, Red Wharf Bay, Church Bay, Llandeusant.

This is the fifth cottage that we have rented via Sykes in the last 12 months. The last one had been very disappointing but this was exceptional, as have the others that we have enjoyed. It was spotless - much appreciated by the ladies in the party. We would certainly book this cottage again should we return to Anglesey and have already recommended it to friends.

Ideally situated near to beach and shop. Just a couple of little things that could improve your stay: Would be nice to have a few more cleaning products to make sure it’s clean when leaving. It would be a good idea to have a foot towel near the patio doors for when you get Out of the hot tub so you don’t wet the flooring when coming in. Couldn’t find the switch to turn on the extractor fan above the hob.

  • "I don't usually provide feedback, but feel it appropriate and necessary on this occasion."

Our thoughts regarding Melody can easily be split into 2 sections - inside and outside. Location: The view of the coast from the property is very limited, but the location is very handy for easy access to the beach and pretty harbour area, and the village tourist and grocery shops, pubs /cafe/ chip shop are just a short stroll away. We found it to be a quiet and very friendly village. Inside: The house fixtures and fittings have been fitted out to a high specification, modern, clean and comfortable - it's lovely. We were frustrated to be without simple kitchenware like casseroles and serving spoons, and a choice of wine glass other than the lovely large goblets to enjoy a champagne moment would have been nice... There is plenty of storage space in kitchen cupboards that swallowed our food delivery with ease. We had an issue when trying to connect the wifi, and in a very short time the property owner was on the phone and was very concerned and helpful . A nice approach. Outside: Before we booked Melody, we read other feedback saying that gates were needed on either side of the house to prevent dogs getting out of the back garden and onto the road. I spoke with Sykes, who contacted the owners, gates were fitted and we felt happy to book our holiday. On arrival, we found the gates were great - but the rear garden had a quite new but incomplete fence down one side, leaving a 2 foot gap where an attempt had been made to block it with a collapsed bamboo screen.... and part of the rear boundary that was not fenced at all - just a grassy bank and hedging with large gaps beneath. So the access out to the front was dog friendly, but the pet security of the side and back were sadly lacking - very disappointing considering that Sykes and the owners were both aware of our concerns before our booking. Our Sykes contact confirmed that, following my call on arrival day, the owners had been made aware of our fencing concerns, but during a direct phone call they claimed to be unaware and unable to help during our stay. My advice to dog owners would be to seek confirmation of improvement before booking. The garden was the only one in the street that had long grass, front and rear, and the rear raised paving area had loose paving stones that were very unsteady, nearly resulting in a fall - I wonder if having given the house a make over, and fitted an extensive quality decking area, the remainder of the garden might be a future project? I hope so because the house deserves it. Either way, it will come too late to rescue what should have been our relaxed holiday. The house is lovely, and we would certainly consider going again, but not until the garden issues are properly addressed.

Thank you for your feed back. We have taken your recommendations on board and have resolved the issue with the fence and all the gaps closed up and secure . As you suggested, we have equipped the kitchen with a large casserole dish, extra service spoons and smaller wine glasses to make your stay more comfortable. Thanks again for your recommendations, see you soon, Louis and Sapna. Property Owner

  • "A fabulous property in a great location, a wonderful stay was had by us and our dogs."

It would be useful to have a quick checklist, that is easy to find, about bin collection days, what to do with used bed linen & towels on leaving and a reminder of the leaving time. It would also have been handy to have use of a vacuum cleaner as just using a brush and dustpan isn't very effective. We had a great time and the open plan layout of the property was lovely. Thank you.

  • "This property has everything you need for a good family break, we went with our 2 children and our grandchildren."

The girls had to share a double bed it was OK as they weren't to old. In my opinion it would have been better if one of the double rooms did have twin beds each family had there own bathrooms. It's a perfect location close to the sea . Would we go again. Yes definitely. The property was clean we had a issue on arrival as the cot we asked for wasn't available we contacted sykes and within 30 minutes a few phone calls this was rectified. In the information folder there is no information of when the refuse collection are this would be handy as the recycling containers were full when we got there and still full when we left.

Thank you for your feed back. All rubbish goes in the black bins out side. we do not rely on the council for refuse collection as it is only every 2 weeks. The bin is taken by a private company and they will take it off the drive (you don't have to do anything, just enjoy your stay!) The council recycling bins are usually kept in the garage, which is usually locked so I'm sorry about this confusion, I'm not sure why the recycling bins were outside. The recycling is done by the private company at there site. Hope this clears it up and we see you again in the future. were glad you had a great stay. Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful place."

The house is very comfortable and tastefully decorated and the photos don’t do it justice. 4 double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms provided plenty of space for all our family with elderly parents and 3 older teens. We all enjoyed the cozy lounge with the fire burning and the dining area was perfect for a family meal. The hot tub was thoroughly enjoyed by the kids and the older generation loved the sunroom especially the board games which were a lovely touch. There was ample parking for the 3 cars we arrived in on the driveway and it was just a minutes walk to the bottom of the street and across the road to the beautiful beach. In the village within a few minutes walk to the left we found a fabulous chip shop, gift store, Morrisons local, 2 pubs and the lovely harbour restaurant and bar where we enjoyed 2 evening meals. The teen’s favourite was the farm shop vending machine selling lovely local milkshake and treat’s just a 10 minute walk to the right, well worth a visit! We had a lovely break in the perfect location to celebrate our wedding anniversary

Thank you for your feedback and we are glad you had a great stay. Since your comments we have installed gates to keep our guest's dogs safe and secure. • "An enjoyable stay in a beautifully renovated and decorated house, ideally located for beach access and coastal walks."

The village has all the amenities you might need within a few minutes walk. Milk, Welsh Cakes, dishwasher tablets and washer pods, washing up liquid left for our use. Beds comfortable, bedding and towels spotless and fresh. The hot tub is brilliant addition! As the second occupants might we suggest a hoover, mop and polish for the wooden dining table. Having two small grandchildren and dog, these would have helped to keep on top of crumbs and spillages. A few small serving dishes, a teapot and large cutting board would also have been useful. The outside bin was full on arrival and wasn’t collected the week of our stay when we checked the council website. A note for dog owners, there is open access to both sides of the property. Such a shame that the televisions wouldn’t connect to the wifi (there isn’t a tv ariel). The owner was contactable and apologetic…the lovely “housekeeper” called round with her husband to try to solve the problem to no avail. A few tweaks and Melody is perfect!!

Hi! Thanks for your feed back. After speaking to you we have had an ariel installed and now have terrestrial TV for anyone who wants it. Also we have changed the internet provider to a more reliable source (we were recommended the previous one but it was a poor service on the island). Just to note there is a full cleaning cupboard in the utility room with brushes and cleaning products. We moved this into the kitchen for more obvious access after your stay. Unfortunately we have no control over the bin situation as that is solely the councils responsibility. To remedy this we have now employed a private refuse company to take our bins weekly. There are also 2 large cutting boards in the kitchen already. We are glad you enjoyed your stay, and we hope to see you again. Peace love and good vibes, Louis and Sapna xx Property Owner
