It's a lovely quirky cottage in a perfect location for us. Just on the edge of the village and near the dunes which lead to the beach which is dog friendly all year round. Our 2 dogs loved it and they also lived the garden which is a good size. The living room though small has everything you need. The kitchen is a great size and well equipped with the addition this year of an air fryer. Both bedrooms are good sizes and comfortable and the shower room is nice and modern. We enjoyed our stay and watching the aircraft coming over the garden from RAF Valley.

! The holiday home is one of the best we have stayed in. From the moment we arrived we felt comfortable and at home It is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need and more at your disposal. The welcome gifts were lovely too and much appreciated. The beds are extremely comfortable and the shower is lovely and hot. The kitchen was lovely with the sun streaming in through the large window. There are games, DVD's and books for you to use should the weather not be favourable. Our 2 dogs loved the secure garden and although we didn't use it this time, the summer house is a lovely added touch. It was handy to have a secure off road parking space for the car. What makes this place even more special however is its superb location. We were easily able to walk from the house down onto the beach each day with the dogs and also in to town which is just beautiful with some gorgeous cafes, shops and restaurants and a handy shop for when we ran out of milk! The Oyster Catcher is also in very short walk away in the other direction. This place truly is a wonderful place to stay and we can't wait to return.

Only one very very minor issue, the front gate the mesh at bottom does not cover the whole way and a gap occurs where the handles are and our small dog got out onto main road, luckily enough was rescued by neighbour after nearly being hit by a car. Did not detract from Great holiday and would definitely stay there again.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your stay in our cottage. I am so sorry that you had an issue with a small gap in the gate. We will look into the matter and rectify where possible. We hope to see you again next time. Property Owner

Maybe a little cold in the winter. I was very conscious of turning the heating up too high, and the fire didn't throw out much heat. I would seriously recommend a log or multifuel stove. These are great in stone cottages, very efficient and I speak from experience. Everything else was perfect.

Thanks for your feedback. I hope you had a lovely holiday. It’s a shame you didn’t turn the heating up as it gets really warm. Property Owner

Fantastic location, everything you need and more inside and outside of the cottage. Owners very helpful but not intrusive. Lovely welcome gift. We even had decent weather for late October/November. Didn’t do much sightseeing as one dog is very travel sick but who needs to, great walks from the doorstep, both dogs 1 year old and 6months loved the beach and sand dunes. Lovely meals at The Oyster Catcher and great takeaway from the local Indian restaurant. Will definitely be back to this lovely cottage.

  • "We have just had our second holiday at the cottage this year, and have had a lovely time once again."

The owners cannot be more helpful; they are lovely. The cottage is really quaint and comfy, close to the two beaches (few minutes walk to each) and nice and quiet. The fact that it is on the one level including the bedrooms is a real bonus although you do need to remember that there are a couple of steps from the hallway into the kitchen, fine for us but might not be okay for others. Both beaches and the High Street are only a few minutes walk from the cottage and, an added bonus for anyone who might find walking up an incline a bit difficult, is that you can walk through the Estate to one of the two beaches and to the High Street with its shops, restaurants and takeaways, virtually on the flat all the way! The cottage’s character and outside space was one of the things that sold it to us originally. The garden isn’t overlooked yet you have homes around you so you don’t feel isolated, and it faces the sun for most of the day. Unlike quite a few other cottages/homes for rent in the area, this cottage has kept its original garden, including lots of plants and even has real grass, something we have found lacking in other places we have rented before, which seem to favour bland decking, lots of hard standing and hardly any plants! The garden is also secure so, if like us you have a dog, it’s safe for them as well. We think the cottage is also priced just about right. Other cottages/bungalows in Rhosneigr can be a lot more expensive but, to us, are not half as nice to stop in, don’t have the character this cottage has nor are anywhere near as comfy! Tyddyn Serri is a truly lovely home from home, and we will be back again hopefully. Thank you again.

Great location, 3 minutes walk to nearest long sandy beach and in another direction, a few minutes walk to the high street shops and takeaways, cafes and restaurants, and another even longer sandy beach. The owners haven’t only made their garden secure so that guests can take their dog with them on holiday, but they have kept a lawn, far better in our opinion than other cottages we have stopped in Rhosneigr where there was only hard standing or decking. The garden not only gets the sun virtually all day, but is also private with the benefit of a small summer house where you can enjoy cooler days or evenings. The owners were welcoming, even meeting us on our first day to explain how the heating worked and where to find things. We did think it was a bit odd not to have a washing machine in the cottage in case we needed to wash anything wet from the sea (or the weather) but found a sort of pop up launderette 5 minutes walk away that we could have used if needed which was fine. We would highly recommend the cottage and intend to return as soon as we get the chance!

We didn't meet the owners but all communication with them was so helpful and friendly and they left a thoughtful welcome gift. The cottage and garden were immaculate and surprisingly nicer than the online photos. There are quirks with the property being old but the owners seem to be more than willing to work on feedback and update things. I didn't sleep well the first 2 nights as a street light shines into the bedroom however, I found a mobile blackout blind in a drawer, hung it every night and slept like a log for the rest of the week (comfy bed). We stayed before half term in Feb and there were still enough places open to eat and drink ( we usually go to Rhosneigr in warmer months and loved it being so quiet). We loved our week and would highly recommend this property.

Thank you for your lovely and constructive feedback. As you stated we are always open to feedback and we try to change things accordingly. On that note, as you can see from the last feedback we have installed a new heating system and we plan to put up black out curtains sometime this season. Hope to se you again. Property Owner

Heater was not working on smaller bedroom which had cold stone walls and the nights were freezing. Bathroom was left unfinished by the builders and window had no handle to lock it. Very disappointed by the response back from sykes that said no fault found with a heater but it is old and in need of upgrading. We were so cold in that room that woke up with blue lips and ended up ill in result. The heater did not work no matter what we tried. Very disappointed and we have another week booked in August where an elderly relative would be in that room which scares us.

We are sorry you had an uncomfortable stay. We apologise that the heater was not working in the bedroom…we had no idea. We are in the process of buying a new one. Unfortunately you didn’t see the mobile electric heater in the wardrobe. We did explain that the area around bathroom door needed finishing as we recently had a new bathroom fitted. The builder has finally finished everything for us. It was quite cold when you stayed in April and it should be a lot warmer in August, but please let us know if not and we will supply more heaters. We noticed as soon as we got in the property it hadn't been deep cleaned the place was full of cobwebs that had been there for some time they wer thick with dust. The ridge in the top of the freezer door where you had put your hands to pull it open was full of dirt and crumbs. The hob was dirty and had something brown and sticky on it. It looked like they had made a quick trip in to change the bedding and towels. The floor needed brushing. The hot tap in the bathroom was loose and was all twisting round so we couldn't use it. To put it bluntly we had to start cleaning as soon as we got in and that's not what I expect to have to do on my holiday especially when I've paid nearly £400. We left it cleaner than we found it. I noticed someone else had wrote a review pointing out the same problems so they obviously didn't take it on board and rectify anything. The area and beach was superb so that was a good thing. Doubt I'd stay in the same house again

We are sorry that the cleaning was not up to standard. We did have a word with the cleaning company last time and thought this had been rectified. Clearly we will need to revisit the matter and ensure it is thoroughly cleaned in future. As promised in our earlier response we did fit a new toilet seat, replace the sofa and add mattress toppers to the beds. We also thought we had fixed the hot tap ( they are new taps) but it appears that we will need to engage a plumber to sort out the problem. Thank you for letting us know about that. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was in a great location & had a lovely safe garden for our dog but the cleaning left a lot to be desired & the beds, sofa etc where old and uncomfortable."

In the present situation with Covid we expected tip top cleaning, which was not the case. The cottage was dusty and the floors had only been cleaned in the parts visible. Nothing had been moved or cleaned behind. We swept the kitchen floor ourselves on arrival as under the window seat was full of dust & dirt. We also found an old boiled sweet under the coffee table in the lounge. The wardrobes were difficult to open/close & the beds were old & creaky. The hot tap in the bathroom was not secure to the basin & the toilet seat loose. In the kitchen we found food left by previous occupants in the freezer, the bins were empty but not clean, there was a knob missing from one of the cupboards which made it a difficult to open. The kitchen was well equipped but some of the things had obviously not be used for a long time & we felt the need to wash everything before we used it. We had a good holiday but would not return to this cottage again.

Thank you for emphasising that our cottage is in a great location and that the garden is safe for dogs, we worked hard to ensure it was dog friendly. We apologise if you thought the cleaning was not up to your standards, we have addressed this with the cleaners. We have not experienced the Bed or Sofas being uncomfortable before, but we do plan to add a mattress topper this winter. In addition, a new sofa is being delivered today and we installed a new fridge last week. New taps were professionally fitted less than a year ago and so they should be secure, however we checked and have tightened the hot tap. The loo seat is also new and so should be secure, we have made sure it is. We have also changed all the cupboard knobs. I hope you agree that this is a 350 year old characterful cottage and as we explained we are continually making improvements. Property Owner
