Couldn’t fault it. Fabulous views and short walk to the pub. We love the area and always stay in Church Bay so we will be back.

A beautiful property just as advertised. Very comfortable accommodation with everything you would need. Very well maintained and immaculate both inside and out. Great views across to Holyhead and the Irish Sea. Only thing that could be improved is the WiFi in the barn. Signal is not particularly strong and if streaming TV there is a lot of buffering/lagging

  • "Overall I would rate this a 7/10."

Many positives. Lovely location spectacular views very well appointed kitchen all appliances working etc. What I feel it could benefit from: oven gloves, sweeping brush (long handle) and egg cups . The sofa albeit a very expensive designer piece it’s now time to replace. It’s designed for looks and not comfort. It’s also starting to split and it is heavily stained and does smell a bit. The chairs in the kitchen/dinning are also in need of replacing. They are sagging when you sit on them. Overall it was hard to find anywhere to sit and relax comfortably in this property. The outside seating was far more comfortable. I would say this is marketed at high end I would have expected better quality pillows and bedding. (Asda, budget pillows, synthetic bedroom rugs) The mattress in the double bedroom (non floating) may also now need replaced. It has 2 toppers and it’s still not that comfy. I would also keep in mind this location is very rural and you need to factor that into your daily driving. Once you get your bearings there is a pub a short stroll away but it doesn’t seem to do food and is limited opening (September) which may be seasonal. We dinned at the lobster Pot that was lovely and I would recommend this. The cafe at the beach is also very good although only open certain days. There is so much to do and see in the area and surrounds. For example we spent a lovely day at the Hidden Garden (lunch was a rip off £2.50 for a can of juice and soup and a sandwich £12.95 literally two prices of bread with a slice of ham ) take your own sandwich or eat in the actual town as there is a lot of lovely cafes worth trying. There are lots of beaches to explore and the national park etc. we were very fortunate with the weather. Overall we had a pleasant experience visiting Wales.

The house was clean & well equipped and had everything we needed. Basics left like oil, S&P, spices, tea & coffee, washing up liquid, cloth, tea towels &:scrubbers. Has a Nespresso coffee machine so take pods. Beds were super comfortable. Loved the way it was all set out. Nice big fridge and freezer. A pleasant walk to the local beach and lots of lovely walks from the house. Pub down the road for drinks. Will definitely go again. We all loved it. Cafe in the village Thursday to Sunday.

  • "Firstly the negatives Slightly poor on basic cleaning… Toe nails on living room rug, Crumbs on worktops & toothbrush rings in bathroom from previous occupants, not a major issue and easily resolved, although I assume the owners pay someone to do this so would expect this to have been done, even to a basic standard."

The towels, although clean, did not smell very nice. Like most previous feedback comments the sofas are very low and somewhat smelly. (Beginning to think I have obsession with smell!! lol) That said would I stay there again… YES 100% The barn is beautiful in a stunning location, well equipped, except oddly no corkscrew, we are wine drinkers so dash to supermarket was required. Barn and grounds perfect for children and dogs. Beds very comfortable. Beaches are beautiful, totally perfect for our 3 year old granddaughter. We Googled info on beaches, manual in barn not at all informative, manual just provides a list, likewise places to eat and what they serve. Back home 2 days and totally miss the peace and solitude this property offers… will definitely go back one day. PS… Owners … update the first aid box, the use bye date on everything is overdue by 10 years!!!

Renovations very well done and high spec. As there were 7 of us, really could have done with another shower, no one used the bath at all, a shower over that one would have been ideal. Also couple of armchairs in livong room, know we were warned in information but sofas far lower than we expected!

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rhyd Angharad Barns and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful country/beach stay."

The "floating " beds are surprisingly comfortable. The sofas are also quite comfortable, however, they're extremely low and therefore very difficult to get up from for most adults over the age of 40! The location is lovely, but limited places to eat nearby. The Wavecrest Cafè is great, but only open Thurs - Sundays, even in peak season. The nearby pub does not serve food. The only other place to eat is the Lobster Pot, which pretty much only serves lobster, steak & burgers. If you don't mind driving, there are some lovely restaurants in Treaddur Bay. The nearest mini supermarket is about a 7-8 minute drive away. We ordered a Tesco food delivery to arrive on our first night, which worked well. Overall, a lovely place to stay and we would definitely like to return.

  • "Absolutely lovely property, perfectly situated."

We will definitely book again. Two observations for the owners consideration. We took my 86 year old Mother and the furniture was too low for her to sit on, we struggled too, please consider the older generation as you are limiting your market sectors. Also a couple of nice loungers outside for when the sun is shining would be great. The two old steamer chairs are okay but there are no cushions for them. This is one of the best properties we have stayed in on Anglesey, with a couple of tweaks it would be a perfect ten.

Large house and grounds with fantastic views. The house needed a good thorough clean when we arrived , worktops were smeared and stained and some furniture had stains and spills on them from previous visitors. The bathroom/shower could do with an upgrade but was acceptable. The house is fully equipped with everything you need for a self catering holiday. The big thing for us was the very low and uncomfortable lounge furniture and two garden chairs , ended up with a bad back for the latter part of the stay. Overall - a superb holiday home with all you need and in a beautiful location (would like to buy it if ever it came up for sale)

I believe a few of my friends are looking to book here later in the year as they saw my pictures on social media. It was a prefect place to relax and unwind after Christmas and a great bases to be able to explore Anglesey. The only thing I would do if I were the owner of this property would be to put some blinds up in the kitchen as it feels very exposing when you sit down to eat at the table especially when its dark outside. I can feel like you are being watched.

Only downside was the low seats in the living room as we had 2 people in their 70s in our party but didn’t affect our enjoyment of the holiday. Kitchen had all facilities needed , great wifi in main living areas not so great in bedrooms. Gets quite hot due to all the windows but opening doors gave a lovely breeze. 2 min walk to local pub and beach a little further down but uphill on way back. • "My wife and I spent 2 weeks here in late June."

We had not been to Anglesey before and the situation of the property is superb, in a calm location with distant sea views, and was enhanced by the great weather. The property itself is well arranged and well equipped in the main. However, the Ligne Roset sofa set is a triumph of form over function, requiring as it does one to sit only a foot from the floor making getting up more difficult than necessary. It also has some ominous stains on its surface and smells of dog, as does the Henry vacuum cleaner when you use it. Dog lovers may not notice or worry about this, but we did not find this pleasant. The solar gain from the extensive windows is immense which is why we are advised to keep the blinds down at all times, which rather defeats the object of the wonderful views provided by the outlook. The polished concrete floors look impressive but are a serious safety hazard when the entrance doormat slides away on its surface as you set foot on it since there is no anti-slip device under it. We removed it for the duration. Apart from that we had a super holiday and there is a lot to see in the vicinity. The Lobster Pot Inn a short distance away is very good, if expensive, and the little Church Bay, within walking distance is attractive, although seemingly a magnet for dog lovers who allow their dogs free-range at all times. As you will have gathered we are not dog owners and therefore possibly have a more detached and objective view - others may not agree.

  • "This property is just lovely and in a lovely spot."

The grounds and views are wonderful. Lots of parking. The walk to the beach is only a short walk down the hill 10 mins (a little longer back as it’s up hill!) A nice pub 2 mins walk away and seafood restaurant by the beach. The cleanliness of the house is what let it down for me and my family. It feels a little grubby and really needs a deep clean. The kitchen implements (knives, openers, peelers etc) need replacing. And it all feels a little tired. The sitting room furniture is not for the faint hearted, very low (but very trendy!) The storage in a couple of rooms is lacking so your have to live out of your suitcase if there for a week. All that said, we would return if those items were addressed. I think it’s a shame for the owners when it’s the cleaning that lets them down. It really would not take much to move this from 5/10 to 9/10.

Lovely big garden for the children to run around in, and perfect location with the breath taking Church Bay just down the road. We felt the house lacked a few things, one twin room had no storage for clothes or belongings, making it difficult to feel at home/un pack, lack of hooks in the bedrooms were a problem as we weren't able to hang belongings or towels on, one small airer wasn't enough space to dry 7 adults clothing and with the washing line broken we found ourselves having to dry things on doors/backs of chairs. Despite this we all agreed that all the essentials were provided, plus a few added extras with the books, dvds and board games, beds were comfy and the shower was very luxurious. We would stay here again if visiting the area. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Facilities were just as good as ever. Nothing in life is ever perfect, of course, and yes, the seating is very low, particularly for those of us with hip replacements (2 of us) but this didn’t take away from a great week with a beautiful view if it rains! We had a small issue with the heating which was resolved same day. Wonderful coastal walks and would recommend The White Eagle near Silver Bay for food and a great walk from the country park at Holyhead over to South Stack with magnificent views.

It has been beautifully designed with lovely comfortable furnishings throughout. The sofas are low and can be challenging getting up from, but they fit in perfectly with the interior decor. The super king floating bed is extremely comfortable. The location is perfect for walkers. We walked for miles along the coastal paths. It helped that we had gorgeous weather during our stay. The picturesque Church Bay is approx 10 min walk from the property, plenty of parking if you prefer to drive down as it is uphill on the way back. The sea can be seen also which is a short walk to the beautiful Church Bay. There is the Lobster Pot there too. The property had some really good points, including the exposed stone walls & vaulted ceiling in the kitchen. Amazing views from lounge area through huge windows. Very comfortable beds. However, overall there were some negatives. These may seem petty but added up. The roman blinds need changing, too much hard work opening/closing. The outside bin was full on arrival. The lounge area was very clinical with no character of a barn at all, this could have been done so much nicer. The garden is not toddler/small child friendly due to the absence of fencing of some sort to protect against falling over from the lawn onto the side driveway. • "Property is overall nice and modern but getting a little tatty."

Needs some tlc. Smaller bedrooms a little musty, dining chair was broken, loo roll holder broken, shower mouldy, extractor fan filthy, many of the roller blinds don’t roll up properly anymore and brackets broken. Small things but added up and could easily be rectified. A man turned up unannounced early on the Thursday morning to mow the lawn. Feel we should have been told this was going to happen. I was sitting in the lounge in my smalls having a morning coffee and he just came round the corner… very embarrassing. He also had his big dog with him which completely stressed out my dogs. If we had been told to expect him we would have made the necessary preparations ie been dressed, taken my dogs out of sight of his… also we hadn’t had chance to clear the morning dog poo up (it was before 9am) so it got chopped up and mown into the lawn…. Don’t understand why it couldn’t have been arranged for the next morning when we were checking out… Main bedroom: Large size, lots of draws and a wardrobe. Gets very hot even in colder weather. Fan provided but it’s one of those noisy industrial ones. No window to open. Blinds not good fit and let a lot of light in. Very bright at 5am. Bedroom faces road and house opposite so no privacy if blinds up. Bed was large and comfy. Shower room: Shower desperate need of mould treatment and extractor fan filthy. Need towel hooks. Nice shower, good pressure. Lounge: Low/soft sofas fine and comfy for us but understand some may have trouble getting in/out. They are separate pieces so do slide apart on the concrete floor. Sky tv was great, Wi-Fi only worked in lounge and was very slow/temperamental. Data on O2 was faster. Understand that’s the area not the house itself. Kitchen: No blinds and looks on to road and house opposite so no privacy. Well equipped kitchen in terms of utensils but no cooking oil, salt, pepper, kitchen towel, tin foil. Basics you might find in other cottages. Dishwasher worked well. Nice large F/F. Outside: The view was incredible. Note the garden is not enclosed and on an open plot. Dogs can easily access road to side and there is a steep drop at end of garden onto road below so would suggest bringing long training leads to stop then endangering themselves. Summary: It was nice to find a modern, contemporary property on the island and with a bit of maintenance and a few helpful additions, this property could be great.

  • "The previous mixed review are a fair representation of our own experience & can be summarised as a great property but not well executed."

To start with the positives, the photos are a good representation of the property and the views from the lounge are an absolute highlight (although it does get very hot in there when the sun comes out). You can walk down to Church Bay (shown in the photos) and there are some fantastic walks and bike rides straight from the property. There is also a nice pub just a short walk down the road which is perfect for a drink with fantastic views. Things were not great at the property on arrival though. First hour spent clearing up dog mess and rubbish from the garden and then hairs/dirt from the bedroom drawers. The outside bin was already full to overflowing and wasn't emptied for 3 days, despite the instructions saying the aim was for the commercial waste collection service to be done on changeover days. The WIFI also wasn't working and it took 24 hours and 3 calls to Menai Holiday Cottages (the owners didn't respond) to establish that the owners were aware it wasn't working & had put a temporary solution in place but not communicated this. The WIFI was then fixed 3 days later when a BT engineer turned up unannounced to fix it. The bathroom does have some mould and there was also a cloth shoved into the shower waste when we turned up which looked gross & was holding back a horrible smell when removed. A proper shower trap cover then mysteriously appeared the following day - again a definite improvement but there was also no communication about any of this and all our stuff was been left unattended whilst someone had obviously been in. Once these initial issues were sorted we had a lovely stay but it definitely could have been so much better and didn't feel like good value for money, particularly given the 2021 summer premium charged.

Very comfortable to sit and look at the amazing views to Snowdonia and the sea. My only thing to flag is I feel the 4pm check in and 10am check out are quite restrictive. Most places we've stayed out usually allow an earlier check in time so you don't lose so much of the first day. That's my only gripe, otherwise fantastic home, amazing location that is very peaceful and relaxing.

  • "The barn was exactly as described and the place looked even better than the pictures- the owners and property manager were fantastic and went out of their way to repair a stuck bath plug immediately, which meant a lot to our kids."

The place was immaculate, well presented and equivalent to a 5 star hotel- modern, new kitchen and appliances, luxurious shower and bath facilities and video room which was great for the kids as well as excellent location and views. We would highly recommend this property as well as the owners

  • "Excellent holiday."

Accommodation good and we had a fabulous ‘3 generation’ family holiday however couple of points for owners to particularly note include 3 lots of dog mess in the garden and 2 outside chairs missing (we only had 6). The plinth the outside chairs sit on is not big enough to accommodate the chairs - it only needs to be a couple of feet wider all round. Currently this renders the outside table useless. The settees in the lounge are really low and older family struggled to get up and down off them. Just one settee at a reasonable height would be good. All the above easily fixed All that being said, the Barns are lovely and photos were absolutely spot on, the view is gorgeous and we would definitely return.

Thank you for your feedback and so pleased that you enjoyed your holiday. The Owners were unaware that two of the chairs had been removed and have replaced. They also intend to make improvements to the outside seating area on their next visit and always appreciate feedback to make guest enjoyment of their much loved property even better. Property Owner

  • "If u love pale grey and white everywhere this is right up yr street."

Terrible sofas - fantastic view and no real garden furniture to sit on and enjoy it except a concrete table which was too high next to the chairs. A real shame. Massively overpriced. Check out at 10 too - really? We left the night before.

  • "We absolutely loved our family holiday here."

There was ample parking and the facilities were just what were needed. The views from the house were beautiful, overlooking the sea and the hills. The walk to the beach was lovely with scenery around us. We would definitely recommend this holiday home and would definitely look to go back again.
