  • "Had a lovely time at Gull Cottage, beautiful cottage and garden."

Good location in a quiet village. Just a couple of things No washing machine just took it for granted there would be one. Lost a bottle of shampoo in ensuite shower mistakenly rested it at top of shower and it fell behind on further inspection it seems other people have lost items too. Other than this we had a good stay and enjoyed the lovely cider and crisps the owners left for us. Thank you

Hi Carol, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We’re glad you enjoyed your stay and sorry we don’t have a washer, we don’t advertise having one but will make it known in the description. In the info pack we have put the details of the nearest laundrettes. Thank for the heads up! We were unaware of the issue with the shower, so will retrieve lost items and install a caddy - Thanks again, Julie & Andy Property Owner

  • "Gull Cottage is a really thoughtfully restored property in a great location."

It is really spacious, with a great layout. The garden is stunning and really made a difference to us with two energetic children - we also enjoyed a couple of meals outside on warmer evenings. Most things we needed were provided, the one thing we missed was a proper hairdryer - we didn't really fancy using the hotbrush that had been used by multiple other guests. We were also bothered by the smell of damp that was present throughout our stay despite our attempts to keep windows open etc while we were in. But overall we had a great stay and it was a lovely base from which to explore the local area.

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. The hot brush was chosen as the brushes are easy to remove and wash but we take your point. In terms of the smell of damp, the building is around 200 years old and built from stone. We have installed both electric radiators, a gas heating system and a log burner all in an attempt to mitigate this, but the rubbish and wet weather this year hasn’t helped. We are continually looking to find ways to keep the air moving. We hope this didn’t spoil your holiday and thank you for reviewing. Property Owner

  • "One of our party has very poor mobility and unfortunately the parking area and twin bedded room in particular were not suitable for their needs."

We found the two bathroom sinks were too small for comfortable use. The sitting room was comfortable and the electric armchair was very useful. The garden was very pleasant for those who could manage the steps but we did realise that we would not all be able to use it.

Thank you for your review. We have put in the description that it may not be suitable for young children but we will add a line about those with reduced mobility. Thank you for pointing this out. I hope you were able to enjoy your stay despite the issues faced. Property Owner

  • "Overall, the cottage and garden were very pleasant indeed with lots of interesting touches."

The kitchen diner was particularly nice, with more than adequate utensils, crockery and cutlery. A minor criticism was the comfort provided by the bed mattresses and the syncronising of the heating system to the prevailing temperature and time of day. To be fair, it was a particularly cool week for June, which also prevented us from sitting out in the lovely garden.

Thank you for your review, and I wish we could do something about the weather! It’s been a shocker this year hasn’t it? We know the house can get chilly due to the age and stone build so we have gas and the log burner as extra heating. I hope it didn’t spoil your stay. Since your review we have improved the mattress and will be renewing over winter. Thanks again for choosing Gull Cottage Property Owner

  • "A beautiful olde style cottage with most mod cons suitable for adults and older children."

The garden, full of lovely trees and plants, would be challenging for younger children with many up and down steps. A lovely location with very friendly neighbours and central for exploring birding sights on the island. The off road parking is a bonus!

Thank you so much for choosing Gull Cottage and for your kind words. We love our little house and are pleased that you can feel it too. The garden is just fabulous….when the weather is on our side! Thanks again for choosing Gull Cottage x Property Owner

Very clean and comfortable. The outside area is great and we were lucky enough to enjoy several late afternoons in the sunshine in April. It’s situated away from busy areas but everything is within an hour or less to visit and easily accessible.

Thank you so much for your positive review. We’re really pleased you enjoyed our little home. Hopefully we’ll be able to welcome you again. Julie and Andy Property Owner

It's a shame the weather was still cool because the garden is a great place to put your feet up after a day out, private and restful. The cosy interior was very welcoming and kitted out perfectly. Our grateful thanks to the owners.

Thank you very much for your lovely comments and we’re so pleased you enjoyed our little cottage. Hopefully next time you’ll get some sunshine! Many thanks, Andy and Julie Property Owner

  • "Gull Cottage is absolutely beautiful."

Such care and attention to detail has gone into its renovation (the photos really don’t do it justice). The hosts, Andy and Julie, are thoughtful and generous (lots of basics provided, including a good supply of wood for the fire) and we were made to feel very welcome. The cottage is in a great location with easy access to some of the best coastline on the island. If you don’t book this cottage then you’re missing a treat!

  • "Gull Cottage was a delightful surprise for us."

The location was away from busy parts of the island but near enough to reach shops, restaurants and other attractions as well as the beautiful coastline. We loved the unusual layout of the cottage and were glad of the use of the wood burning stove which so warmed the living areas on chilly nights. It is a pity we could not take advantage of the splendid outdoor facilities , because of the time of the year, but would certainly come back in the warmer months.

  • "Pillows were a little old needed updating."

The garden was lovely we used it a lot . Could not use BBQ it was old and rusty.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to feedback your feelings and we’re sorry you weren’t completely satisfied. I’m sorry that the pillows were not to your liking but they are definitely not old. Everything is changed throughout the season. We try and keep the BBQ covered and out of the elements but this summer has been a wash out. The outer casing is showing signs of wear and tear but the grill and plates are safe to use when oiled and have had the burners under them. I have however noted your concerns as we are always looking to improve and want everyone to have a 100% stay. Thank you again for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "Very nice property with lots of quirky touches."

Beautiful garden although not the time of year to take advantage of it unfortunately. Only thing I would point out is that the bathroom sink is very deep and sits on top of work surface. For me at 5ft 3 it was too high and I had to stand on a stool in order to be able to wash. Aside from that it’s a lovely cottage which had been lovingly restored.

Thank you for the lovely feedback, I agree the sink is a bit too high! I too am only 5’3” so I tend to jump in the shower. My husband is 6’2” so didn’t realise- ha! It’s on the list to change. Property Owner

  • "Weather very wet and windy but we expected that, given it was November!"

Cottage warm and cosy with most things that we needed, though serving tongs in the kitchen would be a good idea. Only real downside was lack of shower mats in both bathrooms. Showers VERY slippery, ( I actually went a cropper and badly cut my arm.) Informed the owners so hopefully they will have resolved this. Some great eateries for lunch. The Oyster Catcher, a 10 minute drive away and Sea Shanty in Trearddur Bay. Highly recommend them both. Will definitely be returning.

Thank you for your feedback and the note about the showers is duly noted. We've not had this issue before but we’re sorry you hurt yourself, we’ve now supplied shower mats as per your suggestion. We hope it didn’t spoil your stay. Property Owner
