  • "The benefits of having a busy main road on your doorstep when traveling around the Island are somewhat less beneficial at night when the noise and bright lights can be quite intrusive, however that can't be helped nor did it impact too negatively."

  • "It was a clean, well appointed property and the hosts were absolutely lovely and made us feel very welcome."

We could not fault it. It was in a good location and we were able to travel to the main sites and attractions in Anglesey with no problems. There is a Co-op not far away, so we were able to get supplies easily. It is by far the best property I have ever stayed in for self catering.

Spotlessly clean. Friendly hosts. Comfortable stay. Would suggest a heated towel rail.

  • "Loved the stay."

Was well placed and of a very high standard. Would come again. The only thing I’d have liked is some coat hooks. There wasn’t any anywhere and with some longer jackets that wouldn’t fit in the dressing room, we had to drape them over the chairs. Maybe a stand/unit to save marking the wall where the bins/shoe tray was. Other than that, was lovely. Really lovely.

It was perfect in every respect. It was so nice in the morning to open the blinds and sit in bed watching the rabbits hopping about. Also could sit in the evening and watch the ponies in the field. The property is in a good location, pretty much central to most places. Our hosts, Margaret and Gary, were really kind and helpful.

The Annexe was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had a great week as it was ideally situated to explore Anglesey. The hosts Margaret and Gary were very welcoming and their daughter Sarah informed us of areas to visit. A very informative folder was available and lots of tourist information for our use. We would highly recommend The Annexe if you are visiting Anglesey.

  • "A fantastic and unique property that is centrally located for travelling around the beautiful Island and visiting the many beaches, towns, wonderful restaurants/pubs, cultural places, and activities."

The Annexe was spotlessly clean and had a feeling of real luxury, with a walk in wardrobe a huge bed/sitting room with a "sink into" carpet . The bathroom had a fabulously large modern shower. The whole place was well equipped. From the balcony we looked out onto the garden and fields beyond and we enjoyed spying on the wild rabbits that enjoyed sitting on the lawn. Our hosts Margaret and Gary went above and beyond with their hospitality, not forgetting their daughter Sarah (Thank you!) Before we return to Anglesey, we will definitely reserve a place at The Annexe.

The location is excellent for visiting Anglesey and North Wales. The owners obviously care about feedback received as there is now a king sized bed rather than the double bed in the property description. We would definitely recommend and would return if we visited the area again.

  • "The Annexe was perfect for our late Autumn visit to Anglesey."

Very high standard of build and decor. Especially loved the shower! Only things that would make the property better = king size bed for those of us who are on the plus size - there's definitely enough room for a bigger bed. And a mini dishwasher (again, there's plenty of spare space in the kitchen). Or extra tea towels. Location is great for local amenities and for days out. Top tip: arrive in the daylight in case your sat nav takes you beyond the property (like ours did!) NB: It's very easy to find during the day!

Ideal for a romantic holiday for two, the apartment is perfectly located for touring North Wales and spending quality time with your other half.

Unpack your belongings from the off-road parking space and climb the open-tread stairs up to your contemporary abode.

Start by stocking up the cupboards in the stylish kitchen/diner with white cabinets and everything you need to rustle up a tasty, home-cooked meal.

While dinner's cooking, set the table for two and dine in the peace of your holiday home.

Why not follow with a cold glass of wine on the veranda to watch the sun set over the surrounding fields?

Moving through the apartment, you'll find plenty of storage space in the walk-in wardrobe, while a spacious, bright, and airy bedroom doubles up as a sitting room.

Watch TV from the comfort of the double bed, armchair or sofa, while during the day, the floor-length feature windows of this contemporary property bring in plenty of natural light for admiring the views or getting lost in a good book.

For your convenience, a large en-suite shower room has been finished to a high standard; start your day by stepping under the rainfall shower head before planning your day's adventures.

Venture into the centre of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll to take a break from the kitchen at The Carreg Barn or a well-earned pint at The Penrhos Arms, stock up at the Co-op if you prefer cooking at home and snap a photo of the longest place name in Europe at the village station.

Close to Menai Bridge, discover local heritage at The Menai Bridges Exhibition, take a romantic stroll along Belgian Promenade, and head to Church Island to visit the historic St Tysilio's Church.

Nearby attractions well-worth adding to your itinerary include Plas Newydd House and Gardens, a waterfront mansion owned by the National Trust, as well as Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens with a charming tearoom.

Further along the coast lies Beaumaris, a picturesque town with plenty on offer for history lovers; marvel at the 13th-century Beaumaris Castle, Victorian cells at Beaumaris Gaol, and stroll along Beaumaris Pier for far-reaching views; why not book a cruise to Puffin Island to spot the local wildlife?

Be sure to pack your beach essentials and drive to the likes of Traeth Llanddwyn, a romantic sandy beach with views of Eryri (Snowdonia) and the historic landmark, Goleudy Tŵr Mawr, while the popular Red Wharf Bay offers scenic vistas and seaside taverns.

If you've come for an adventure, Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park is just across the Menai Bridge for mountain hikes, waterfalls, and gorgeous lakeside walks.

Be sure to visit Bangor and the royal town of Caernarfon too!

Make unforgettable memories on your next romantic holiday in North Wales at The Annexe.

About the location

LLANFAIRPWLLGWYNGYLL

Menai Bridge 2 miles; Beaumaris 6 miles.

Affectionately known by the locals as Llanfair PG, the Anglesey village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrnd robwllllantysiliogogogoch, also known by its shortened name of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll has the longest place name in Europe. It was artificially named back in 1860 as a publicity stunt for the railway station and translates from Welsh as "St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near to the fierce whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave". Situated close to the Menai Straits, just off the Britannia Bridge, Llanfair PG has much to offer families. After having your photo taken next to the village nameplate at the railway station, head into the popular visitors centre for local tourist information. A short walk past the octagonal Toll House, towards Menai Bridge, will bring you to the Marquis of Anglesey statue and column which, for a small fee, you can climb the 115 steps to the top for superb views of the countryside and coastline. Nelson’s Monument can be easily reached on the banks of the Menai Straits, passing St Mary’s Church on the way. With several good pubs with restaurants, craft and gift shops and cafes, plus the beautiful Anglesey coastline within walking distance, there is plenty to entertain you all year round.
