  • "The house provided clean, comfortable and spacious accommodation for a 3 generation family getogether (coming from Cumbria, Chester and Belfast)."

The location is lovely and we had some really nice sunsets whilst there. The information about the track being covered by high tides was very comprehensive and we worked round it. The table tennis table in the garage provided good entertainment! Highly recommended,

A previous negative review had made me anxious. On arrival the cottage was clean warm and perfect for our needs 8 adults, 3 children and 2 dogs. The location absolutely stunning, the solitude perfect. Obviously rough roads were negotiable easily by reducing speed . We would love to come back as a family to this fabulous accommodation. .

  • "We arrived for a family week away and we were so disappointed in the overall cleanliness, furnishings and overall facilities within the cottage."

The living room furniture was grubby, smelly and in need of replacement. The WI-FI had very poor coverage and due to us having 2 small children we needed the WI-FI for monitors, hence family had to stay with the children when they went to slept. The cooker was inadequate for 12 people, as was the washer/dryer, which did not wash anything properly and then nuked it, leaving clothes shrunken. The garage/play room was also very dirty and unusable due to being full of rubbish. The bathrooms were dirty and the shower seals were filthy/mouldy. The cottage was sold to me as it was supposed to be beach front, never would I class it as beachfront. The position of the cottage was remote, which we were aware of but the condition of the access road meant that 3 cars had punctures during our stay. Very, very disappointed and not as described or as pictures on website

Thank you for taking the time to write a review following your stay at Glanrhyd Isaf. I am sorry that you were disappointed with the property. The property is as close to the beach as the advertised photos suggest, the lane to the property has never posed any problems previously but we will look into this. The garage is used for storage of outdoor and beach equipment, of course guests are welcome to use this as a games room but we do not advertise it as such. I am sorry that you found the kitchen inadequate, again the cooker is that accurately shown in the photos. The housekeeping team work hard to present the property to the high standards which guests expect, I am sorry that on this occasion these expectations were not met. Our friendly team is available 24/7 to assist guests, had you had contacted us on arrival to report these issues we would have endeavoured to make this right for your with minimal disruption and inconvenience to you or your party. Going forwards these issues will be addressed to ensure guest satisfaction. Unfortunately the Wifi signal in rural areas may not be the strongest. We would always advised guest to make enquiries regarding any specific personal requirements before booking to avoid disappointment. May I take this opportunity to thank you once again for your invaluable feedback. The Menai Team. Property Owner

  • "This is a lovely property, however the description needs more information so people are aware- You cannot access the property until 5pm, I was not aware of this until I had booked and you have to be out by 10am on departure day."

In the winter this would make late access even more difficult. This should be clear before, not after you book. Access to the actual property not easy not a single sign to help you know if you are going the right way, why at least finger posts could not be put up I do not know. A mile and a half to the amenities, maybe but a tough mile and a half. The last part of the access is a disgrace if you have a small car think twice, very large holes and seaweed full of sea water. I realise this gets flooded regularly however damage could be caused to some vehicles, this is the only way in and out, some days we could not be bothered it is such a faf, also a gate you have to open and close (a spray of WD40 would help) every journey, in the rain no fun, we were there for a full moon so the tide was higher than normal, for any one arriving late which we had they could not get to the parking by the house, walking from the caravans was really difficult in the dark and dangerous. Older people would have not been able to do it so would have had to sit in their vehicle for quite a while until the tide went out. This happens every day not as the note says -- Note: Due to its unique waterside location, the sea may cover the access lane for an hour or so during exceptionally high tides or strong winds. There are options to park your vehicle and continue to the house on foot (approx 100 meters). I never thought this would not be flat. In the property there a several steps which for any one elderly or unsteady are a challenge. The property has all you need was very clean and comfortable, one mattress need to be replaced. If you are young want all the exciting accesses, water , walking along a brisk beach, or just being peaceful this is a good property, in the sunnier days I am sure it is very different and more spectacular, we had warmer sunnier days , it was a lovely break. Had I known the access issues I might not have booked this property, it is not for all the family it is for younger people.

Thank you for your feedback and for taking time to write a review for Glanhryd Isaf. The check in and check out times are confirmed by Sykes. We have also included these details on the website. The property is located in a very rural area and sadly signage is restricted as you need planning permission for this in the areas we would want to put them in. We are clear in the property description about the high tides (often when there is a full moon) so the guests know what to expect. We regularly re-surface the water front section of the drive as it can get worn down by the sea. Property Owner

We were slightly worried on getting to the location, however, it was surprisingly easy. The house was amazing, clean, comfortable and everything you needed was there. How do we describe the location….there’s no words. The scenery was beautiful, you could sit out in the garden, watch the horses in the field behind, watch the beach (which was a stone throws away)….which may I add, this seemed to be your own private beach. The location was close to the RAF valley, which just added excitement to the holiday. We saw amazing jets, everytime one was heard, we all ran outside to see it. It took 5 mins to get to the supermarket, 10 mins to Trearddur Bay, 30 mins to South Stack lighthouse - what more could you ask for. We would DEFINITELY go back to this property and we’re all missing it. Thank you to the property owner!

Ideal for a family celebration. Beautifully appointed bedrooms, immaculate bathrooms, cosy lounge. Kitchen had everything you could need. Views were stunning and we enjoyed walks and swimming. Unfortunately there was no information booklet for the property, a few windows upstairs didn’t open which in the hotter weather made it a bit warm. The beds in the twin room were uncomfortable and not suitable for adults. But overall a lovely stay, thank you.

It stated in the description that on occasions, the sea covered the road, but didn't mention the huge potholes . Due to poor weather during our stay, the road was almost undriveable . On the flip side, there was no hairdryer, no shaver points and the tv in the bedroom didn’t work. Games were past their sell by date! Having to buy binliners as only one was provided and dishwasher tablets seems ungenerous in a home of this price and compares unfavourably with other houses we have rented. These are small details, easily remedied as was the pack of 6 Welsh cakes to welcome 10 people. The didn’t spoil our holiday but we would choose somewhere else next time.

Thank you for your recent feedback. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay at our property. We do appreciate your comments and take them seriously. We will review them all in turn. I have recently purchased more games for the property to replace the existing ones. Many thanks Jo Property Owner

Most property we have rented has had a folder with general details of the facilities e,g, Cooker, Washing Machine etc etc. Also general information of the area & restaurants/take-aways ( I left a couple) and there were no specific instructions left regarding how to leave the bedding etc so we left it in situ. The house was very spacious and in a quiet location but the beach area was a good deal muddier than I anticipated from the catalogue images, apart from that we all enjoyed the stay

Thank you for your feedback. We do appreciate it so that we can provide the best possible experience for our guests staying in our holiday home. As part of our Covid policy we have removed the Welcome Folder from the property as they are handled by all our guests. When guests book the property we stipulate this and an electronic version is emailed out with all the useful information. Perfect setting for a large family get together. We visited for my husbands special birthday along with all the children, grandchildren, my parents and the dogs. We couldn't have asked for a better space for everyone to be together in. The property is spacious and we never felt on top of each other. The only downside for us was there isn't an area of the garden which is enclosed like the property next door where you can let your dogs out (we have Jack Russell terriers that can't be let loose or out of sight). • "I honestly can’t say enough about this property!"

We looked high and low for the perfect place to celebrate my Dads 70th Birthday. As a family of 13 (plus 2 dogs) we were looking for somewhere big enough for us all to stay together for a long weekend. Enough bedrooms and general space so we weren’t on top of each other, and a large enough kitchen/dining area to seat us all together for big family meals. We also wanted the place to be private enough for us to feel away from the hustle and bustle of life. This house far exceeded what we were expecting!! We followed the directions to the letter which got us right to the door (without this we would not have found it!) The house is set in the most beautiful location with sea views and surrounded by fields on one side and rocky coves on the other. There is a huge secured garden which was brilliant for letting the dogs off lead. The views when the sun was going down were just beautiful. (We stayed in early March, I imagine summer is something else!) Inside the house itself was also way above our expectations. It’s HUGE! The photos on the website honestly don’t do this house justice. It is much bigger in real life. The thought that has gone into renting this property for family breaks did not go unnoticed. Every room was clean and welcoming. There was literally EVERYTHING we needed. Every cooking utensil, cutlery, crockery, glasses etc you could think of. Dining table perfect to sit 14 people. The lounge had plenty of space and enough comfy sofas to seat us all together. We took our projector and had a family film night! In the cupboards there is a large selection of games, quizzes, cards etc. There is a log burner which we lit on the first night but the heating was enough thereafter. There are 7 comfortable bedrooms, almost all with stunning views, 3 en suite and more than enough other bathrooms for everyone. The showers were powerful and hot. We had a nice surprise finding a ping-pong table in the garage! My Dad was the local ping-pong champion back in the day, it’s like it was meant to be! We all had a fabulous weekend and would highly recommend this house if you are looking for somewhere special for a family gathering.
