  • "Our stay at Gorffwysfa was wonderful !"

Inspite of the inclement weather with Storm Agnes during our stay we explored the island throughout the week and enjoyed returning to a cosy cottage . The kitchen was great for an easy self catering holiday , with the super efficient gas woodburner style fire and comfy bed our stay was perfect . Thank you Alma for such a lovely welcome and very generous treats ! Would love to return in the future ...for husband and I there's so much geology yet to be discovered and so many photos yet to be taken !

  • "There were two of us in the cottage, but there was plenty of room for 4 people."

Having 2 bathrooms was ideal. One improvement I would suggest would be a heated towel rail for the smaller bathroom as towels didn't really dry out in there. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, plenty of sofas. The Velux windows were a real plus in what can be a dark old building. The garden was lovely with mature shrubs, space and privacy. There was a feeling of lots of care and thought going into the property. We also felt that the description in the information about it was accurate and the whole atmosphere was welcoming on arrival, as was the welcome pack and hand written card from Alma Williams Four Mile Bridge was an excellent location to get easily to places I had previously visited and new ones too. I would certainly consider using the Gorffwysfa again.

The cottage is immaculate. So clean and with every amenity. The pretty garden is a huge plus as so many cottages don't have one on offer. Big plus! We received a very warm and friendly welcome from the housekeeper, too who was easy to contact and offered lots of tips for a great stay. The cottage is perfectly located to reach all that Anglesey has to offer. So many beautiful spots both around the coast and further inland. We would highly recommend staying at Gorffwysfa!

  • "Hi, We have stayed in many cottages over the years and this one was some what disappointing."

Most places have a welcome basket on arrival which this place didn't, made even more disappointing when reading the visitors book that the people who visited a week prior had received one. The ensuite wasn't very clean, it had a mushroom growing in the corner of the shower and after a day or two started to smell like a blocked drain. The cushions for the garden furniture where heavily soiled and the table cloth was moldy. All in all felt like it needed a good clean and refurb and did not warrant the £1100 price for a week. Wish we would have raised the issue of the ensuite earlier as the caretakers seemed nice.
