It was reassuring to know that the owner was only next door should we have experienced any issue (which we didn't! ) We would definitely recommend Gable Retreat and hope to revisit this lovely place

• "Lovely self-catering accommodation and probably the cleanest we've ever stayed in."

  The kitchen is tiny, but very well equipped. (I had no intention of doing much cooking...) The bedroom is large and comfortable; the shower room is lovely. Private garden area. Owners are friendly and helpful. Nothing bad to say about it, altho' if there are three people staying, rather than two, you might struggle a bit for space in the living room/dining area.

• "We were comfortable and made to feel welcome."

  Access was very easy. Tina had provided everything we could need. She even very kindly left a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge (which we left as we rarely drink, but it was a very kind gesture nonetheless which we appreciated). We enjoyed being able to sit in the sun in the pretty garden between our sightseeing trips. Everything was clean and up to date, and, location wise, it was a quick walk to the beach and the coastal path. Thank you Tina.

• "This was a very last minute booking after Air BnB cancelled on us with 3 days notice but what we got at The Gables was fantastic!"

  The owner was friendly and kind and even popped to the shops for us. It had lots of facilities that made self catering easy including an air fryer and was in walking distance to the sea front. We slept well every night and the apartment was clean and tidy. We liked it so much that we've already booked to go back! We would 100% recommend this to others.

  We loved our stay at the Gables. It's in a lovely quiet residential location within easy walking of the beach and restaurants in Trearddur Bay. A lovely centre for exploring the surrounds eg South Stack, Church Bay, and walks on Holyhead Mountain. Loved it!

• "My wife and I are considering retiring to Anglesey and booked here to stay for 5 nights, to give us time to explore the island."

  We were met with a friendly welcome and found the property immaculately clean and spacious for our needs. The use of the large garden in the back was a bonus, although the weather wasn’t great. We would highly recommend this for a short or long stay and will be back ourselves to explore more of the island.

• "We really enjoyed our stay at the Gables, in such a beautiful and quiet area, we had everything we needed in the kitchen and lounge in this great holiday accommodation, everywhere was lovely and clean and the bathroom and bedroom very spacious, the bed was comfortable and we slept really well, we loved the use of the private garden and patio area, Terry was very welcoming and friendly and Tina was really lovely and nothing was too much trouble for her, there was a great retail park 5 minutes drive away with loads of food and non food stores which was a great bonus, Anglesey is a beautiful part of Wales and we enjoyed visiting lots of places and lovely beaches."

• "This was a lovely apartment in a very good area, ideal for walking the coastal path."

  There is plenty to do in the area. It was particularly nice to have exclusive use of the private garden which enjoys sunshine for much of the day. Trearddur Beach and eateries were easy walking and the Sea Shanty is recommended with both good food and atmosphere. Tina was on hand if needed but certainly didn’t intrude.

  Fantastic hosts, very kind and welcoming. We were temporarily without home while moving house and Tina was super accommodating of us. We fitted in many pre, mid and post work beach trips, it's only 5 minutes walk away! The property was clean, well equipped and very comfortable. Thanks for having us :)

• "The flat is in a quiet location and is a maximum of 10 minutes walk to the beach and shops."

  There is a new restaurant opening on the promenade, there is a Chinese restaurant and takeaway nearby, a spar and general shops etc. By car about one mile away is a Tesco, Morrisons, and an Aldi and Macdonalds, Chinese/chip shop in a different direction. The flat is at the rear of the premises with its own large private garden and seating. The kitchen diner is compact but has everything needed including fridge, cooker, microwave, washing machine and television. There is also a three seater and a one seater settee. All crockery, cooking utensils and cutlery etc is provided,and there is also an iron, small ironing board and hairdryer provided. The bedroom is quite large with a double and a single bed. The bathroom has a shower cubicle. The owners are very friendly and will help with any questions or problems you might have. I would recommend this place to all. There is a lot to be seen on this beautiful Island.

• "Booked last minute and what a lovely surprise."

  Kitchen was fully equipped and everything was clean & tidy. Lovely bathroom and a wonderful private garden with furniture. Short walk to the beach across the path through the field or about 10 mins walk on the road, Beach was lovely and son really enjoyed paddle boarding which can be hired from local shop for £15 ph, Visit to Benllech beach is a must, the water was nice and shallow and the beach spotless, Holyheads country park was a great find with lovely cliff walks followed by lunch in their cafe - the homemade cakes were delicious. South Stack lighthouse was worth a visit although extremely windy, Overall, a really relaxing enjoyable holiday only downside was the lack of restaurants in Treaddhur - didn't manage to get a booking all week but at least they had a chinese take out.Recommendation book restaurant before you go and get a windbreaker for the beach.

  Great location parking no problem no problem space wise for us lovely rear garden. Owners helpful if needed but not intrusive. It had everything we needed and everything worked . One tip to mention is it gets very light early as curtains are not blackout fortunately I had my eye mask if that bothers you would recommend bringing one many thanks!

Close to the beach and walks along the coastal path, not far to drive to many other attractions and places, We where only there for a 4 night break, wish it was longer.   The owners Tina & Terry were very welcoming, friendly and helpful, on hand if needed but never intrusive. The bed and furniture were all very comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the large private garden. Having cycle storage was excellent as was the location for exploring the whole of Holy Island and beyond. We found good places for meals and drinks in the local area and fabulous beaches within easy reach. Looking forward to returning next year.

• "This was our first experience of a self catering holiday."

  We were a bit wary about the accommodation, being a ground floor apartment within a family home but our fears were unfounded. The accommodation was extremely comfortable, immaculately clean, with a well equipped kitchen, plenty of storage for clothing, Not an essential but we had the benefit of Sky tv plus an excellent wi-fi connection. It was ideal for the two of us. We were not disturbed by our hosts, Tina and Terry, who were not at all intrusive. They were on hand should we needed any help and found them easy to talk too, very warm and friendly. Not only was the property well appointed but there was an excellent and beautiful large private garden, which was not overlooked, enabling us to have a couple of barbecue's during our stay. As well as the barbecue, there was a table with parasol, two chairs plus two garden chairs. There are three short walks down to the beach, one down the main road leading to the Post Office, local shops and an excellent Chinese Restaurant, the second by walking down a side road towards the playing fields (our preferred option) or by taking a public footpath which took you down the side of the cliff (great views of the bay) and through a field towards the Treaddur Bay Hotel. We were treated with a bottle of bubbly on our arrival which was really appreciated after our long journey. Excellent apartment and excellent hosts. Without hesitation we recommend the Gables Retreat If returning to the area, we would, without any hesitation return. Tina and Terry have set a high bench mark for self catering apartments and we were truly spoiled. Let's hope our second self catering holiday can meet the Gables Retreat extremely high standards
