I would say that it's a no-no for elderly guests

The hosts, Joe and Margret were lovey, and go out of their way to help and make you welcome, not to mention the welcoming treats of home smoked cheese, Biscuits, wine, and fresh eggs. The Cheese was absolutely superb! There are horses and chickens on the property, and we were welcomed to roam the property and fields if we wished, along with our Labrador Luna. The Cottage has everything you need, and is very cosy. Perfect for a couple to relax and unwind, or as we did, 3 and a dog. Location is great, and very quiet. there is the local pub a short walk away that servers nice food. No matter where you are on Anglesey, you are never far from a dog friendly beach.

the property could do with some maintenance to some areas. we had our 3 year old daughter with us and she caught her foot on screws that were sticking up from the carpet rails as much as 5mm. also the toilet and sink were loose/wobbly. Stairs extremely steep which was listed in the description, but the child gate was pretty much useless and frankly dangerous. The listing also states gas oven which was not present.

The location is great for Llandonna beach and is very quiet and relaxing. The property is small but all you need for a couple or small family. As others have said the stairs are very steep and will not suit everyone. Also the wi-fi does not work, this didn't really worry us but in this day and age is an expectation for most. • "I was not impressed with Sykes at all as the listing stated pet friendly was not clear enough."

They listed this as pet friendly then after we had made the booking it stated you cannot leave the pet unattended at any time which is crazy. I called to complain and asked for a refund which Sykes refused as I should have read this in terms and conditions. The lady was the least helpful person I have ever come across. I asked what I was supposed to do with my dog if we went into a nice restaurant. She had no answer. Something as important as should be listed on the advert and I feel it was a complete mis-sell. After we had made the booking the pet policy was clearly stated in my welcome email but by this point it was too late. The cottage and the owners were absolutely amazing and lovely people In such beautiful surroundings. They were very accommodating in our dilemma above. We had a great break and a great time in a lovely part of Wales. Not impressed with Sykes in the slightest mainly due to pet friendly policy not being clear enough. That aside no other issues with Sykes. The above is no reflection on the owners and we had an amazing break but would advise to read the pet friendly terms on any listing before booking with Sykes.

  • "This property was fantastic."

A nice peaceful village in Anglesey with the cottage easily accessible but just enough off the beaten track to have lovely peaceful surroundings and views of the mountains from the windows. The cottage had two upstairs bedrooms one leading on from the other and was perfect for the three of us (two adults and a 3 year old) but would have been great for a couple or small family. The stairs were steeper than normal house stairs but a safety gate was provided for the top and it was no issue for us at all. A main lounge with TV and a separate dining room meant plenty of space and the kitchen was perfect for what we needed. As the listing says no true oven but there was a combination microwave and full gas hob and full sized fridge so we were absolutely fine for a week. The owners are lovely, very welcoming and friendly, they live on site in a separate house so were there if needed but unobtrusive the rest of the time. The whole property and grounds are lovely, a good size outside space with table and chairs, comfy beds inside, a fire if needed. We would go back next week if possible! Loved it!
