  • "What a wonderful place to stay!"

The location is idyllic, with views over peaceful countryside. The cottage is very well furnished (including excellent wi-fi and Netflix for evenings in!). The mattress was softer than we would have liked, but others may prefer it that way. All in all, a terrific cottage in an absolutely perfect countryside location.

  • "Perfect for a relaxing few days."

The birdlife was wonderful whilst the feeders were full. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. One thing I would change is the bed could do with deeper sheets to stop it coming untucked when you move. I had this problem at home so bought the deeper sheets from Dunelm. Other that that we had a lovely few days and will look to booking again.

  • "Our holiday cottage was delightful."

It was clean, tidy, comfortable and catered for our every need. The grounds were also fantastic, so peaceful and well kept providing a large garden and summer house should we want it with the added bonus of ducks that greeted us on arrival and came to see us everyday! The owners were superb (Helen and Rick) providing a beautiful welcome basket on arrival, offering homegrown tomatoes, cucumbers and chillies should we wish and were just so friendly from as soon as we booked through to when we left. My daughter and I are so glad that we chose to stay here. Thank you so much Helen and Rick and we hope to visit again soon!!

  • "I picked this property for its eco credentials and beautiful gardens."

When i arrived it was more beautiful than anticipated. I was delighted to meet the warm and friendly hosts on three or four occasions. They made sure I had all I needed and were very gracious about me charging my electric car with their accessible car charger. I took their advice to visit local scenic spots and had one of my best holidays for viewing wildlife and historic monuments. I would love to return one day.

  • "The Stables is an enchanting, clean, cosy cottage ideal for 2 or 4 people and the surroundings in which it is set are delightful."

An added bonus is the wildlife to be seen right outside the front door: red squirrels, many varieties of wild birds and even ducks who arrive at the front door of the cottage looking for some tastey snacks in the form of wild bird seed - not bread! The owners do everything to make sure guests are comfortable and nothing is too much trouble. This is an ideal location for a quiet, peaceful holiday.

  • "Idyllic setting in the countryside."

Peaceful and very picturesque. Cottage was lovely with tasteful decor. There was hot water in abundance for a relaxing bath but unfortunately the shower's performance was poor and would benefit from a replacement. There was noise from the inhabitants of the upstairs cottage, The Granary, due to lack of soundproofing which was disturbing. We would probably book The Smithy or the Byre if we stayed in the future. Nevertheless we had an enjoyable stay and the hosts were lovely.

  • "Very welcoming."

We felt like guests in a country house - Helen and Rick are delightful hosts who are determined to make everyone's stay a special experience. Extensive, well-kept gardens, including an orchard, ponds, a vegetable-growing area and a summer house. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, including a view of Snowdonia and the sea at the top of the property driveway. A perfect place to unwind, where the predominant sound is that of the wind in the trees and continuous birdsong. Truly peaceful.

  • "The cottage was very clean, well equipped and owners extremely friendly and helpful, our only negative comment would be that we stayed here during a particularly wet windy and cool couple of days and the cottage started to feel cool and damp due to the wet weather, the welcome pack said the heating went off at 11am and came back on at 3pm."

The heating came on around 5pm which didn't feel enough during a very wet spell and it meant we felt cold and damp in the cottage and a bit extra heating would have made a difference or coming on for a bit longer, apart from that everything was fine.

Many thanks for your valuable feedback. We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at The Stables. Your comments in regards to the heating have been taken on board to ensure that each guest is comfortable during their stay at the property. Thank you again. • "Our feelings were that the “cottage” listing was not accurate because there is an upstairs apartment."

There is certainly noise from people walking about and we experienced three evenings of virtual non stop walking. The “cottage” was best suited to a family of three, despite having two bedrooms. It was well equipped, especially the kitchen, no cheap supermarket utensils. It is ideally situated and you can visit most places within 30 minutes. However, mobile phone signals are difficult to obtain. Helen and Rick are very friendly and helpful; Helen being particularly attentive. When we arrived the weather had turned much colder and the “cottage” was quite cold but the owners put the central heating on later that evening. We would stay here again!

  • "This is a very nice place to stay but the listing is incorrect."

It is not clear from the listing that two other properties oversail this one. Therefore it is more accurate to say this is a ground floor "flat" rather than a cottage per se. With people overhead it can be a little noisy with footsteps and creaky floorboards. This did not spoil our holiday by any means, but it did come as a surprise when we first heard noises overhead. The only other gripe we had was that the double bed mattress was very hard and we found it uncomfortable to sleep on. Of course others might find it perfect for them. Otherwise everything about this place and the owners' hospitality was thoroughly enjoyable.

  • "It was a real pleasure to meet Helen and Rick."

We felt at home and relaxed from the start. A sweet, tiny holiday cottage with plenty of space for 2, at a pinch for 3. Everything was spotless and very comfortable. The grounds were a delight for city dwellers; it was so soothing to wake to the sound of birds and the rustling of leaves instead of the noise from cars and building sites in our home town. It's position within a few minutes from the beautiful, unspoilt coast and in the middle of farming land, meant a real escape from the problems and stresses of this difficult year! We would definitely consider another visit and look froward to meeting the owners again.
