  • "Our 5th stay as it is our favourite holiday cottage."

The quiet beach and its general solitude are so welcome. The owners are particularly welcoming too. Ideally placed to visit Anglesey's attractions.

The property

Llanfachraeth 1 mile. A delightful, stone-built detached Grade II listed farmhouse on a working arable farm, in an isolated position at the end of a long track, 1 mile from Llanfachraeth village and its local pub, yet just a few hundred yards walk to the coast, deserted coves and beaches found along this craggy western coast of Anglesey.

This lovely Anglesey cottage is a Grade II listed building dating back to 1849, and has been sympathetically restored to retain many original features, with exposed beams, sash windows, slate floors, and low doorways throughout.

This Anglesey cottage offers a fitted kitchen with pantry/utility room, a separate dining room with exposed beams, Rayburn stove and upright piano, and two delightful sitting rooms, allowing the adults to relax in one room, whilst the children play in the other.

Outside, this Anglesey cottage is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and there are fantastic views of Holyhead Bay and the cottage has its own private track down to the coast.

There is an enclosed lawn, a safe place for the children to play whilst you sit and soak up the sunshine, or cook the catch of the day over the BBQ.

This Anglesey cottage is in a secluded location, set in the centre of 100 acres of the owners' farmland, next to some of the farm's old outbuildings, now used for storage, offering a fantastic chance to get away from it all.

This cottage on Anglesey is also in a great location for Melin Llynon windmill, South Stack Lighthouse, Anglesey Sea Zoo, Plas Newydd NT mansion, beautiful Snowdonia and is close enough to Holyhead Port to even enjoy a day-trip to Ireland.

An ideal Anglesey cottage to enjoy a year-round seaside holiday in a lovely, peaceful coastal location.

Where you’ll be staying

LLANFACHRAETH

Valley 2 miles; Trearddur Bay 7 miles.

The village of Llanfachraeth, lies on Anglesey’s west coast and is named after a sixth century saint, St Machraeth. The village is set on the banks of the river Alaw, which flows from the Llyn Alaw reservoir, where it is possible to fish for coarse and game fish and salmon. Amidst spectacular cliffs and sandy beaches, this small village provides a local shop and pub, while the surrounding countryside boasts excellent fishing, birdwatching and coastal walks, with climbing on offer on the mainland in Snowdonia. Indulge in fabulous watersports, including kitesurfing, diving and sailing at the stunning Rhosneigr beach, or enjoy 18 holes at a choice of three local golf courses. Spend the day at Anglesey Sea Zoo, visit the historic town of Beaumaris with its medieval castle and array of shops and restaurants, take a boat trip past NT Plas Newydd country house or indulge in a day trip to Ireland. A wonderful, all year round holiday location.
