  • "A very well maintained property."

Fully enjoyed our stay. Double bedroom had large bed with on suite shower. Very powerful too. Lots of room. The twin was very comfortable and the toilet and shower are just outside the bedroom. Everything we needed was there. Towels and bedding supplied and very clean. Just need to bring your own tea towels. Easy parking and no issue with WiFi apart from logging back in if not used for while. Looking forward to returning again in the future.

  • "What a perfect little cottage for a week on Anglesey."

It had everything we needed, plenty of parking, extremely comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen, and a dog proof backyard! We had 1 niggle in the week (our own fault, not knowing how to set the DVD player up!), and the owner was round to help within minutes. It would have been nice to be able to pay extra for access to the pool/games room, but only on the single really wet day! And 1 bigger saucepan (for pasta or rice) would have been good. Aside from that, an absolutely gorgeous, well maintained, clean, and bright cottage, which was perfect for our needs! Thank you!

Lovely and comfortable... new sofas since last year. Everything you could want/ need and ideally situated as a base to visit any area of Anglesey. Would definitely recommend and would stay again. Icing on the cake this year was a beautiful Mare and adorable foal in the field at the front of the property.... found it hard to drive past without saying hello and watching the foals antics!

  • "On arrival everywhere looked lovely and quiet, inside the cottage was disappointing, a lot of little things need attention, wardrobes, drawers, kitchen drawers etc all have some damage or wear, black tape over light switch wasn’t a nice welcome as we went through the door, loose door lock, cottage was very bare with only a couple of artificial plants & no other ornaments so it didn’t feel homely & comfortable, the 2 settees have seen better days, very worn & low due to the cushions being well worn & collapsed, this was the biggest disappointment that made the cottage very uncomfortable."

One bathroom light on the over the sink shaver light wasn’t working. we expect to leave everywhere clean & tidy and respect the property but found some of the signs/stickers abrupt….surely they can be worded in a nicer way eg…..’this is a self catering holiday cottage and not a hotel!’……..’’IF THE DRAINS BLOCK YOU WILL BE CHARGED £100 CALL OUT PLUS VAT. THANKYOU’………’DO NOT PUT ANYTHING DOWN THE TOILET EXCEPT THE 3 Ps. PEE, POO AND PAPER.

Thank you for your feedback. I am in the process of replacing the kitchen cabinet doors and drawers. Some have already been replaced. The black tape over the light as you enter is to stop people turning off the automatic outside light when you come in. The loose door locks have all been dealt with. I have bought two new sofas which are in place. If you had told me that the bathroom light wasn't working I would have come round - it says in the information folder that I live next door and you had my number. I fixed it myself, the cover wasn't on correctly so the connection for the bulb wasn't making contact. Regarding the signs above the loos - this year alone we have had to have the drains rodded 4 times because guests consistently disregard my notes to not flush wipes down the loos. Since I have put those signs up, I have not had to call out my plumber. Property Owner

  • "The tack room is a lovely little place to stay."

Lots to like. Great location to explore Anglesey and North Wales. Parking huge bonus. Very spacious rooms and showers were great, lots of hot water from solar panels. Plenty of equipment in kitchen and a nice little outside seating area for sunny evenings. Not overlooked and very private. Backs onto the main road but noise wasnt an issue. Our only points to note, which we had seen on previous reviews and had thought the issues might have been addressed but it turned out not so. 1) if you like lying on a dining table then you will love the king size bed. (Understand some may like a solid bed) Unfortunatly we like a bit more comfort and after 1 uncomfortable night we decided to push the twin beds together and made a huge bed for us all to sleep in. It wasnt ideal but other than finding alternative accomodation it made sleeping possible. Perhaps the owners could look at investing in a mattress topper to add some optional comfort? 2) the sofas are indeed very low (and not an option for sleeping on if you dont like the king size mattress!) it didnt fuss us so much as the kids curl up but had we taken my elderly mother she would have stuggled to get out of the seat, so I appreciate less abled peoples comments. 3) a simple bit of maintenance needs to be addressed on the kitchen units and bedroom units as the veneer is peeling off to to point of spliting and flapping about. This gives it a tired appearance and is frustrated when you catch fingers on it opening drawers trying not to rip it further! 4) When we arrived it was late evening, wet weather and cold in the cottage. The heating system is electric and set to 20.5 on a timer and locked so you cannot alter this without contacting the owner. Once it was on it soon warmed up and settled but again if we had taken my elderly mother she would have required it warmer. 5) The cleaners arrived dead on 09.30am, shame check in cant be earlier to make more of a day of holiday. 6) As stated the pool and games room are not for use of tack room guests. Which is a shame as they are seperate buildings so I can only guess the reason for it. In fact the games room is attached more to the tack room than the stables so you can hear the neighbours playing through the walls when in bed. I have written these points not as complaints but simply for improvement and guidance. We had a lovely holiday and enjoyed the cottage. If the mattress was replaced we would definitely return.

Thank you for your feedback. I live next door so would gladly have turned the heating on for you earlier, it did come at 5pm which I thought was adequate for late May. Regarding the mattress, again, if you had rung me and said you couldn't sleep on it, I would have ordered a new one to be delivered the next day. It has been replaced. The housekeepers/cleaner should make me aware of maintenance issues however I take responsibility for not noticing earlier. I have ordered new kitchen cupboard doors and the chest of drawers has been seen to as well. The sofas are quite low however this property is not one of the 'accessible' properties in Sykes/Menai Holidays's portfolio. The games room is only for use of the Stables who pay considerably more per week. Check in time is an industry standard, I do let people check in early if they contact me to ask. I hope to see you again. Property Owner

Saying that most places were dog friendly , I recommend the local fish and chips and the pub next door to the chippy. I need to do my research into the area in future, it would suite a small family who are looking for a red squirrels experience but a bit restricted I your dog is not used to being on the lead all the time

Could not really fault it to be honest. Parking was excellent and getting to/from the cottage was easy. The cottage was clean and cosy and there were fields that we could use to walk our dog. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before but it would be nice in the future if the games room next door could be shared between the 2 cottages rather that being for the exclusive use of the (bigger) cottage. We stayed with our 2 children and they mentioned that they would have loved to play pool or table tennis in the evening but this was not allowed so they were a tad disappointed.

Perfect location to get to most places on the other side of the islan and main land in 15-20 minutes. The property itself the bedroom and bathrooms were really modern and clean. The only downside I’d really say was that the kitchen is a bit tired, some of the veneer is peeling off the cupboard doors and some of the doors are loose, and a couple of the runners in the hallways were a bit stained and dirty in places. Really lucky to have use of the fields around to run our puppy on his lead on for days we didn’t take him places with us. All in all a lovely week away.

The property

The Tack Room makes up part of the L-shaped Bryn Eira barn conversion which has a courtyard at its centre.

This sweet holiday cottage is nestled near peaceful Anglesey countryside there will be some restrictions about dogs being on leads in some woodlands and on beaches and is on the edge of the famous village of Llanfairpwll.

Just nip off the A55 and you’re more or less at the door! There’s an open plan living space with kitchen, dining and seating areas.

This allows for a sociable holiday - who ever is cooking dinner, can chat with the rest of the family at the same time! The kitchen has an electric oven/hob, a fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, kettle, toaster and microwave.

The round dining table seats up to four people. The squishy sofas are ideal for curling up on with a good book.

Alternatively, there is a TV to keep you entertained after a day of exploring. The master bedroom is a good size with a king size bed and ensuite shower room with shower, loo and wash hand basin.

To the back of the holiday cottage is a twin room with a wardrobe and dresser for storing your clothes.

The large bathroom has a shower, basin, loo and towel rail. There is off-road parking at the front of the holiday cottage with spaces allocated.

At the back of the cottage is a small courtyard which you can sit out in with your morning cup of tea or coffee and enjoy some fresh air.

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch - or Llanfair PG to the locals- is an ideal location for a holiday cottage.

You’re close to some of Anglesey and North Wales’ finest beaches, attractions, walks and activities.

The village itself has two pubs, a Co-Op, and a petrol garage, meaning the essentials are within easy reach. If there are more than four in your party you can also rent out Bryn Eira Stables (1008716), which sleeps ten and is located on the western side of the courtyard.

About the location

LLANFAIRPWLLGWYNGYLL

Menai Bridge 2 miles; Beaumaris 6 miles.

Affectionately known by the locals as Llanfair PG, the Anglesey village of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrnd robwllllantysiliogogogoch, also known by its shortened name of Llanfairpwllgwyngyll has the longest place name in Europe. It was artificially named back in 1860 as a publicity stunt for the railway station and translates from Welsh as "St Mary's church in the hollow of the white hazel near to the fierce whirlpool and the church of St Tysilio of the red cave". Situated close to the Menai Straits, just off the Britannia Bridge, Llanfair PG has much to offer families. After having your photo taken next to the village nameplate at the railway station, head into the popular visitors centre for local tourist information. A short walk past the octagonal Toll House, towards Menai Bridge, will bring you to the Marquis of Anglesey statue and column which, for a small fee, you can climb the 115 steps to the top for superb views of the countryside and coastline. Nelson’s Monument can be easily reached on the banks of the Menai Straits, passing St Mary’s Church on the way. With several good pubs with restaurants, craft and gift shops and cafes, plus the beautiful Anglesey coastline within walking distance, there is plenty to entertain you all year round.

Note: Cottage is next door to Bryn Eira Stables, does not have use of games room or the pool
Note: one dog with the party is free of charge, 2nd dog is £20 additional.
Note: Please do not use property's electric to charge EV's.
Note: Please note there are two steps down to reach the outside patio at the back of the property.
