  • "Cae Teg is a well placed house for exploring the amazing Newborough Forest, beach and Warren and the whole of Anglesey."

It's 5 minutes walk from a shop, excellent chippy and a welcoming local pub. The house itself was clean and tidy with comfortable beds although for the time of year it was quite cold as the heating seems to have a mind of its own and there is no working fire. The large dining table is great for the size of the house whilst the living room would struggle to seat 7 if the house was booked to capacity. As previous guest have pointed out there is no working lock on the bathroom door and the bathroom window is definitely in need of a blind. We felt quite uncomfortable using the bathroom as it is opposite the front door of the neighbours house and even with patterned glass you can quite easily see in and out especially with the light on. The front step is also still loose. The owner was very quick to sort a problem we had with the shower not draining and had someone out to it within a couple of hours. That said, we had a lovely weekend and if the issues were addressed we would definitely stay again.

Hi Wendy, Thanks for your feedback. Couple of things you mentioned re step & blind will be addressed. The bathroom lock works fine, not sure why you struggled with it & the heating has some preset timings, I can only assume you may have accidentally confused the timer by trying to set your own? Glad you had a nice time though. Property Owner

  • "Lovely sized property."

Good standard of cleanliness. Perfect location to explore the island. Only areas that let it down are the settee in the lounge. Great if you're a teenager who likes to sprawl but if you're like us having to shuffle backwards to sit and get off again because of the width isnt comfy or easy. There should also be a blind in the bathroom as window is opposite next doors front door and if you put lights on at night they could see everything. We had to buy something to cover window temporarily. Overall a good property though, just hope the owner takes note and sorts. I saw someone else's comment about no lock on bathroom door and that is still not sorted.

Thank you for your feedback. There are two sofas in the lounge which are very different to each other, designed to suit different preferences. The window in the bathroom is heavily patterned so that you cannot actually see inside, but noted, we can add a blind to avoid future concerns, especially as the shorter days are upon us! Apologies about the lock (there is one) which was broken by a previous tenant and we fixed it. Sounds like it’s gone again, if you’d told me during your stay I would have endeavoured to fix it but will aim to get this resolved again. Many thanks, glad you enjoyed your time regardless. • "We had a very enjoyable week at Cae Teg – comfy beds, very clean, good wi-fi and an excellent, quiet location with easy access to LLanddwyn beach and Island and a small, well-stocked supermarket, pub and fish and chip shop only five minutes’ walk away."

The kitchen was very well-equipped and the only extra things we would have found useful were a washing-up bowl, a tin-opener, a sieve and a measuring jug. Just three further points – part of the front door-step was loose and wobbly, having only blinds and no curtains meant the bedrooms were quite light, and the lock on the bathroom door didn’t work, which could have led to an embarrassing situation! However, we can highly recommend Cae Teg and would have no hesitation in booking here again next time we visit Anglesey.

Thanks for the review great feedback Property Owner

  • "The property was spotlessly clean, comfortable and in a very quiet and peaceful location."

30 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive to local forest and beach, both fabulous especially for those with dogs. Tim the owner was very responsive, helpful and extremely accommodating when we thought we might need to stay an additional night because of unexpected ill health. We will definitely stay here again, thank you for a lovely break.

Thanks Yvonne, you’re very welcome! Property Owner

Niwbwrch is a small village on the south-west corner of the Isle of Anglesey, and was founded in the 13th century. Llys Rhosyr also resides here and is home to the ruins of a pre-Edwardian commotal court and boasts impressive views over mainland Wales and the Snowdonia National Park. Be sure to refuel at The White Lion, a dog-friendly establishment serving ales and good pub food, ideal after exploring the surrounding areas. Treath Llanddwyn beach’s stretch of golden sands is also nearby as are the historical sites of Eglwys Santes Dwynwen and Goleudy Twr Bach.
