The house was spacious. Ideal for four adults, two children and a dog. The garden and other outdoor spaces were much appreciated. The property was well situated for enjoying many of the delights of Anglesey and its friendly people. Brilliant, but take a sharp knife!

Beds comfy and bathrooms large and lovely. The owners left cake and Prosecco and plenty of other bits and bobs you may need. WiFi excellent. Gardens lovely and very well maintained. There is mention of road noise in the listing and although we are used to road noise at home others may not be. It didn’t spoil our stay but it is present.

  • "A great house to stay didn’t feel like a holiday house very inviting and clean, shame about road noise as was louder than we expected it to be, think this could be improved slightly with hedges, sound proof fencing etc."

We did find window cleaners turning up at 10.30am on a bank holiday morning while we were eating breakfast a little intrusive. Aswell as the Gardner to mow the lawn on Thursday it would have been nice to know they were coming at least, especially with young kids and dogs! Appreciate maintenance needs to be up-kept but maybe booking on change over day might be more appropriate.

Thank you for the feedback and lovely to read you thought CC was great. The road noise is very subjective, the majority of guests have no issues but a handful like yourself do. We do mention the road in the property listing so hopefully it wasn't a surprise to you. The gardener and window cleaner do try and attend whilst guests are not there, but its not always possible. If it was inconvenient, they would have been more than happy to return at a time that was, if asked. Property Owner

A mixed age group of 4 adults, a child and 2 dogs - we all enjoyed our time here. Beautiful property and very well equipped. I had taken toilet rolls with us but didn’t need to use them as enough had been provided, thank you. The road outside didn’t bother us. The property is well situated for exploring Anglesey. We had great weather so was able to go out and about. Enjoyed our roast dinners at Panton Arms. Our first visit to the property and we will return.

  • "Like previous guests we enjoyed our stay, the area and the island."

We didn't find the road noise an issue, nor driving out of the drive, but we felt the corner sofa for 4 people (we were a party of 6) was not suitable or particularly comfortable. The sink area is tiny with minimal draining space - we would recommend you consider putting the microwave and toaster on the table or the other work surface. Although there is a warning in the folder of instructions, we found the oven's temperature awkward to handle. For a party of 6, who do not wish to dine out each night, we would suggest a double oven. The lighting above the sink is poor and would benefit from a spotlight. Otherwise, the bungalow is spacious, well thought out and comfortable.

Thank you for the detailed feedback and really pleased you enjoyed your stay. In addition to the 6 seater sofa, high backed wooden armchairs are provided for those guests who require a firmer seat. The kitchen layout is designed to give guests the highest level of spec and comfort during their stay. Property Owner

  • "Such a lovely cottage, the pictures don’t do it justice."

The owners have really put thought into everything you may need during the stay and such a lovely little welcome box of goodies when we arrived, even down to chew sticks for our dog (which he demolished). We have had the pleasure to stay at many cottages through Sykes and this is definitely one of the top 2 we’ve stayed at. There were a couple of comments on the reviews that made us worry such as road noise and that it was hard to get in and out of the drive from the road. We found this was no problem at all, the driveway was very straight forward to find and we were able to get two cars in and out without an issue every time. The road noise is there slightly due to the road but we wouldn’t say it was disruptive. Over all had a fantastic stay and we will definitely be returning. Thank you.

Thank you so much for the feedback, it’s great reading that people enjoy CC as much as we do. We hope to welcome you back soon. Property Owner

Comfortable beds, smart bathrooms and plentiful supply of hot water on demand. Great pity about the road noise which was very intrusive and the cold wind that whistled across the patio. Getting a car in and out of the drive could be quite hairy due to the traffic volume. Minor irritants were that the dishwasher is very small for a family of 6 as is the dish drainer by the sink and the patio furniture was not very comfortable to sit at - the cushions from the box didn't seem to fit these seats. However we really enjoyed our stay at Cae Capel even though we wouldn't re-book because of the issues listed. It's a great base for exploring the many wonderful beaches on Anglesey.

  • "We had a very nice week at the property and would very much recommend it to others."

The bungalow is nice with an enclosed, dog friendly garden and ample parking for 3 cars (6 people stayed). The bungalow is near to a busy main road but as we were not sitting outside in the garden the noise from the traffic was to an acceptable level. The kitchen was well equipped, lounge and dining area were spacious. Main bedroom & ensuite bedroom were good sizes but 3rd bedroom with twin beds was cramped. It was nice to have wardrobes that had plenty of coat hangers (so many places don't). Sofa & beds were generally comfy. The wi-fi was good and 3 TV's with smart functions were a nice touch. Alexa was a nice extra allowing us to play background music when we didn't want to watch TV. A good selection of books and games were appreciated. The central heating was very good, one of the best we've experienced at a holiday let. There were a few minor points that we'd like to make (these didn't spoil our holiday but we thought were worth mentioning) - 1) Spare bin bags & better recycling instructions would be useful 2) Whilst I wouldn't expect you to provide toilet rolls for a full week, 2 toilet rolls for 2 bathrooms & 6 people was inadequate 3) The fridge might be nearing the end of it's life as it had a tendency to freeze products rather than chill them 4) A few of the towels, placed on beds, were not properly dried/aired when we arrived so we had to put them on radiators to dry them. 5) Last but not least we thought it might be a good idea during Autumn & Winter months to re-orient the lounge so that the sofa was facing the fire (means swapping TV with sofa). It might not work but if you haven't thought about it then it might be worth trying. In conclusion - A lovely home, thanks for a nice vacation. The Bate family

It is comfortable with good quality furniture and other fittings, with more than adequate wardrobe and drawer space for a party of six.The garden is very big with plenty of lawn for dogs and children to run around in.It is fully secure once the gate is shut. As others have said there is some road noise as the bungalow is next to a busy route from one end of the island to the other. The other attributes of the bungalow, local shops and pubs on the doorstep and its location giving access to the rest of the island more than make up for that minor issue. An excellent place to stay.

Cae Capal is a lovely, spacious house, a real comfortable ‘home from home’ Lovely bathrooms and open plan lounge/dining space. Our boys and 2 dogs loved the garden, we struck lucky with the weather too so that was a bonus! The road is quite noisy, not an issue when you’re inside the house but very noticeable when sat outside on the lovely patio, that said we were out and about most of the time so wasn’t too much of a problem. The bedside lamps confused me for a few minutes until I realised they were touch activated. A warning/information sign would be helpful to those (like me) not familiar with such features. It took me a couple of days to stumble across the clothes airer hidden away in the bedroom, I left it in the bathroom when I departed. Otherwise a very comfortable stay and I would like to return some time. The cafe across the road was quite handy as well - basic but good food.

  • "Cae capel is beautiful and we had a lovely stay there, the reason I gave it a 4 star and a little smile is because the sofa and cushions had dog hair stuck to them, the ensuite had dust around the edges especially behind the toilet, there was no vaccuum cleaner only a brush and as wooden floors naturally gathers dust a hoover would make it easier."

The driveway had a massive conifer branch across the drive which made it difficult to drive up to the property, Sykes cottages acted immediately when I reported it and had it removed but I think the cottage manager should have ensured this was removed before we arrived when they came to check the cottage. We have enjoyed our stay and it is a lovely place to stay.

Thank you for your valuable feedback and great to hear you enjoyed your stay. It was immaculately clean on arrival, and given that we are still mid-Covid, this was really reassuring to see. The gardens are beautiful and this was a fundamental part of our stay as we needed somewhere for a (mad) beagle / collie cross to run around. He loved every inch of it, and I can truthfully say that the grounds are definitely dog-proof! If we had 2 tiny niggles, one is that the dishwasher door falls open with a terrible force so please make sure you don't have any small animals or children sitting under it! Secondly, and this is something which the owner can't do anything about, but the road is really noisy. For us it made no difference as we were out and about an awful lot but I imagine that if you didn't have great weather, it might become frustrating. Everything from the decor to the accessories was homely and well thought out. We took our own vacuum, just in case the dog malted too much (which he did!), but there was one there for use if needs be. We will definitely re-visit this property - in fact we have tried to re-book for September but it's already fully booked :-( Thank you for a wonderful, much needed break.
