Just what we wanted, lovely cottage in a quiet location , yards from the sea. Pubs a short walk along the beach road. View amazing. As I am disabled to have lounge, kitchen, twin bedroom and toilet etc all virtually on one level great.

  • "The view from the cottage was beautiful."

However the sofa, chairs and single beds weren’t very comfy and we had to move furniture about so we could all see the tv. When we moved the furniture around underneath was really dusty and dirty, as were some things in the kitchen. The hot water wasn’t on at all and there was no instructions how to put it on apart from how to use the boost facility, but you can’t boost it if it’s not actually on. The kitchen cupboards smelt of damp and we were hesitant to store food in there. For a well equipped kitchen, the lack of cafeteria and things like that was disappointing. Felt I’d paid for a 5* holiday let which was pushing to get 2* Very disappointing.

Hi Kilmeny, Sorry that you were disappointed with your stay, the property is advertised as 3*so we would hope this guidance would manage your expectations. We are constantly advised by guests of the high level of cleanliness within the property, but accept that a deep clean for every changeover is not feasible from a time and cost perspective. The hot water switch is next to the boost switch as advised within the welcome book. Property Owner

The damp and the smell was unbearable. Was informed two weeks prior to arrival about the builders - they’ve been there months- however they were courteous. Won’t be going back. Very poor compared to previous Sykes cottages in Scotland we’ve visited.

  • "This is a lovely property in a beautifully setting."

We have been coming here for a number of years. In the Spring, Summer, Autumn and New Year. Walking on the beach on New Years Day with bright winter sunshine was fantastic, we were very lucky. And, yes there have been the occasional hiccups but always sorted quickly and professionally. The owners are clearly committed to providing the best standard of accommodation at a reasonable price. I gave 5 Stars for this visit due to the building work, which we were told about a short time before our holiday started. We weren't worried because we were there 9 months ago when the work started . We thought it would be at the stage of completion. Not the case! Vans outside the window each day blocking the view, work with diggers and dumper truck starting before the legal time of 7.30pm and 50ton wagons arriving. It wasn't a bit of building work, it was a busy construction site which caused the loss of the two parking spaces to the rear. We weren't told about that! Did we let it spoil our break? No. Would it stop us going again? Definitely not. .

Hi Bernadette, Thank you so much for the amazing review. We sincerely apologise for the disruption caused by the building work by others nearby. We were assured that this would be completed in a timely manner and have have requested that any disruption outside our property is minimal. Your patience and support is really appreciated and hope you continue to enjoy this amazing part of the world in the future. Property Owner

  • "We were warned shortly before the holiday about building work next door but I still felt let down by the owner who could easily have liased with the builders about parking of their vehicles."

One day there were 3 vans and a car completely blocking the best feature of the property.......the sea view... which was the main reason we booked it again after staying there last year. Not too much to ask for the sake of his paying guests is it?

Hi Steve, My sincere apologies about this matter. I have repeatedly requested for vehicles not to be parked across our view and have been assured that this is the case. I'm happy to provide a discount if you wish to book again as a gesture of goodwill for your disruption. If you contact Cottage Holidays this can be arranged no problem.' Apologies again, Paul Property Owner

Well equipped and well furnished, however we did find both the sofa and the bed somewhat uncomfortable which impacted on my current bad problem. Due to the bed issue I had more sleepless nights than i did good night sleeps. Local pubs and eateries were both welcome and hospitable.

Thank you for your feedback. We have tried to provide a range of mattress types to suit most guests. The double bed is medium and the single beds are soft. We will take your points on board and attempt to mitigate this going forward. Thank you for choosing the Coach House and the feedback provided. Property Owner

Everything you need in apartment although towels are a bit tired . Lounge sofa also not the most comfy . Shower not very powerful . It does not state in description that people in double bedroom ( massanine ) have to pass through double bedroom on route to kitchen lounge . WiFi not the most powerful . Overall for the cost though it was good value

  • "We had another lovely stay at 2, The Coach House."

Despite the wet, windy weather, we were cosy, and most comfortable, with everything we needed. The apartment's amazing view and stunning location are breathtaking. Its situation right on the coastal path means there are many enjoyable walks, long and short, close by. No need to stay in and cook, with a nearby pub and eatery within yards, and a gastropub a short walk away (remember to book in advance). When the tide is out, there is a most pleasant stroll along the beach to Benllech. Take a pair of binoculars, and you will be entertained by the comings and goings of the vast array of birds and wildlife. I highly recommend a stay here.

  • "My friend and I recently enjoyed a mini break staying at 2 The Coach House, Red Wharf Bay, Anglesey."

The high standard of the cottage is refected in the phothraphs on line, the sea really is as close as is shown! We had one really lovely sunny day and a few not so good but the views from the large bay window in the living room were fabulous whatever the weather. The cottage is warm and cosy, really well equipped and very clean. We had a very nice meal at The Boathouse, only a short stroll from the property and next to The Ship Inn. We did explore some of the island but were very happy to return to our lovely holiday home. I hope to return in warmer months to walk the coastal path which passes right in front of the property. The write up states that access to the bathroom is through the ground floor twin bedroom which is true but only from the kitchen and living room. Access to the bathroom from the first floor double bedroom is just down the stairs. We had a lovely stay and can certainly recommend the cottage and the location.

All home comforts were catered for. The decor was fresh and clean. Beds were comfortable and warm. The kitchen had every appliance or utensil possible, and the fridge/freezer was roomy . A nice touch provided on our arrival- ice in the freezer, and milk in the fridge. A slab of cake, too to add to our welcome. This property is highly recommended.
