  • "Fabulous location, couldn’t beat it and the large windows made the most of it."

This did mean you lost out on some privacy as there is a footpath going past house but it wasn’t busy so not a problem and actually met some lovely friendly people walking by. All jealous of our spring rental. The house was warm and so cosy. The beds, duvets and pillows all luxury. The hot tub which was emptied, cleaned and refilled before our arrival was used everyday. By the way many rentals tell you they do this and we know they have fibbed to us. We arrived early and witnessed the spa man doing his job and of course the water was crystal clear. I can’t recommend it enough. All I would say is more serving dishes in the kitchen please. We like to cook and enjoy good food served beautifully so a bit disappointed. This is a tiny issue because otherwise there was everything we could have wanted. Becky the owner was also extremely helpful with all my questions prior to arrival. No complaints there. Thank you Sam

Views from all windows are magnificent. Lots of space and safe areas inside and outside for children to play freely. Everything thoughtfully provided. All rooms beautifully furnished and bedrooms comfortable. We enjoyed walks on the beach and eating out locally too.

  • "From the moment we arrived we found everything we needed for a fantastic week together at Rockside."

This Amazing Beach House met the needs of our entire family from the teenagers to the over 60s. The table tennis, table football, board games and jigsaws kept us all spending quality time together with no TV needed. The fully equipped kitchen had everything we needed to cook a Mexican Themed Meal one evening. Views from EVERY window enthralled us from sunrise to sunset - Location Location Location..... Lots of space to unwind in the two cosy lounges and recharge our batteries for the winter months ahead. We All Loved Every Moment We Spent At Rockside. Thank You.

A little piece of heaven. The house is a real home from home, spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything you need for a large family. Very tastefully decorated and furnished. We loved the personal touches. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we all felt very relaxed and recharged by the end of the week...we didn't want to leave! The views from the house are second to none. The kitchen/ dining/living area was perfect for us. We can't wait to go back. Thank you Rebecca for sharing your beautiful house

The attention to detail is amazing. There is absolutely everything you could possibly need plus a lot more. The location of the cottage is perfect. The changing views, waves etc especially when storm Agnes decided to gate crash were stunning. We got married whilst staying at Rockside and couldn’t have asked for a better place for our celebrations. Thankyou xx

  • "Good evening We all had a fantastic time at Rockside."

We have always accepted the small issues in holiday homes until last year when the advice from Sykes expressed the importance of letting you know of any problems. While Rockside is a beautiful home and situated overlooking the bay, there are a few things I believe could be improved on , especially if the owners are asking near 9k to 10k for a week in high season. Starting from the Enclosed rear garden, If you have small dogs they will get under the gates as ours did . The BBQ , this needs to be updated and made into a proper BBQ area . The hot tub , which the young teens enjoyed could have a little private screen put up to allow privacy from the road at night . The outdoor fire pit could have a supply of wood for their visitors , we have stayed In cheaper homes which has given the guests wood to use . Kitchen On the first night we purchased a tin opener as the one provided didn't work . I would like to have seen a clean looking toaster and tea and sugar caddy. The 4 slice toaster should be up graded to accommodate the party of 12 . We had a sainsbury delivery and for 12 people as you can imagine It was big , there was a lot of frozen items I had to cook early to prevent it being wasted because the house only had a 3 draw freezer , not big enough , below average size for any home. The larder fridge had a broken draw which came off in Your hands every time and was held together with sellotape. The kitchen knives need replacing, even with a sharpening device they had no cutting ability. Bedrooms No towels in the master bedroom. Each room needed extra loo rolls . I took my own so we were OK. Balcony and lounge light out . Doors Side door we could not use as no key , but I think it's because it didn't work as from the outside it's rusty and the lock spins in its barrel . This was a shame because we then had to come in the font door with sandy shoes . The garage No light working , so no table tennis played at night . Garage roof leaked. Path at the front of the house . There is permission for anyone to walk this path and they do , so the private pebble beach is not a beach nor private and everyone stares happily into Yr holiday home and walk over the rocks. The beach isn't private nor easy to get down to via rocks for older members and its so tiny it's not worth it . The main bay is fabulous and only 2 mins from the house. I appreciate the above seems very negative, but if I had paid 9k for the week and private area which I thought I was getting I would not have been happy The home is lovely , but is tired in areas and need attention . We had a great stay and I hope the owners take on board my comments as structured criticism and appreciate the five stars they have for their beautiful home. Warm regards Show quoted text

  • "The property first impression is awesome and interior does not disappoint."

There is nothing you could wish for that is missing for a self catering holiday for a family group or friends. More than enough rooms and places to day dream, away from the throng. The main bedroom offers views that are mesmerising from the balcony. A short 5 minute walk takes you to a sandy beach and restaurants/ bars. But the glazing in the house stops any noise pervading. Best ever property 8 adults 2 teenagers and 2 toddlers along with 3 dogs. Wonderful for all - plenty to do

The house lends itself to total relaxation from the time you walk through the door. There is something for everybody from the playroom which has toys and games for all ages to the relaxing lounge you can escape to and the massive kitchen/diner/lounge which is big enough to accommodate everyone without being on top of each other. The position of the house ensures you can enjoy both the sunrise and sunset which are spectacular. At the end of the day you can watch the waves crashing over the rocks whilst enjoying your favourite tipple.

It was stunning. When you're in the kitchen/diner or the main bedroom you have triple aspect windows with sea views in all directions. The rooms are beautifully decorated and well designed. The beds are very comfortable. The hot tub and fire pit were regularly used and very popular. The kitchen cupboards were well stocked with everything you could need but that left little storage room for food. Excellent holiday and we'd definitely be renting Rockside again.
