. We have had a wonderful time on the beach Traeth Y Ora in the afternoon and barbecue & family meal in the evening. Love the accommodation, but some door latches are difficult to use... We've used our paddle boards, swam. Love the views and situation. Hope to return one day. Wilma & family. Buch..

  • "Beautifully property with stunning views."

Without wanting to sound too critical a few issues could be ironed out. The external furniture was comfortable but needed a good clean due to excessive bird poo and some hardened dirt. A little dusty in a few areas on top of the fridge and in some of the windows. The downstairs WCs flush handle is a little loose the fridge was missing a shelf but these are just little niggles. The propertys location was stunning the nearby beaches were almost deserted and the coastal walk was picturesque. The drive to the barn was a little awkward when having to reverse for oncoming vehicles but the amazing views at the destination made it worth it. We werent too sure of what to do with our recyclable rubbish once we had separated and bagged it. At home we have separate bins for each type but here this wasnt the case. On a positive note the beds were really comfortable the water was always hot and the wi-fi was great. The welcome pack was lovely and the kitchen was really well equipped, but a non-stick pan would have been useful. The decor was really attractive and the furniture although a little low for us was quality. We would certainly recommend a stay here. We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked to stay again.

We are sorry about the sub standard clean we have spoken to the team & as for the ext furniture there was a delay with the contractor who eventually cleaned them on June 14th changeover. It is an isolated position which makes it more special so yes typical Anglesey narrow lanes adds to the charm. Property Owner

Fantastic views and spacious for a family of 5. Plenty of smart tvs for the kids in case of bad weather. It's well appointed and equipped. Lligwy beach is a 20 min walk and there are 2 nearer smaller beaches which are quiet. It's a real haven for a relaxing time.

Only slight night niggle was refuse which had not been collected as usual on the Friday so the red Biffa bins were left out the whole week and the Traeth Ora cottage bin was overflowing, and at least one of the bags blew out, not very pleasant to keep seeing the rubbish and bins! Reported directly to agent. Also door lock broke just before we left, reported to agent so hopefully this was fixed for next occupants. See you again later in the year.

Many thanks for your review, yes Biffa had issues with their collections for 2 weeks now resolved and the handle was fixed yesterday. Look forward to seeing you again. Property Owner

  • "Our tenth visit to Penrhyn since September 2020, always to the Farm previously, but this time the Barn."

As other have said this is such a magical place and we hardly holiday anywhere else. It's beautiful year round, the only downside to December being the mud but we know what to expect and bring the wellies. The outside hose and shower have had plenty of use. The house is beautifully appointed and comfortable, if a little too warm for us at times. Never cold enough to light the fire! Newborough is a great place to visit if you want to avoid the mud. Long beach extending beyond the island, then back through the forest trails behind the dunes. Can also recommend the White Eagle at Rhoscolyn for food, it was outstanding for our visit. Looking forward to returning in April. Thanks again.

the Barn is really comfortable, everything we needed was here. Fantastic to wake up to the view everyday and A enjoyed her walks through the fields to the beach every day. It has been like our own private beach, enjoyed looking at the scallops and the beach and sea life. Managed to see the seals round the estuary and some days from the cliffs down from the cottage. Excellent walks from the coastal path, and some fantastic beaches- Benllech, Lligwy, Moelfre. Ann's Pantry worth a visit for a bite to eat. Could do with another week here! I would love to come back. Its setting near to the coastal path, local beaches and sea views are fabulous. The soft furnishing in the house beautiful. We have booked again for next year so we obviously love it. However we do always have to do a bit of cleaning on arrival think we always leave it cleaner than when we arrived.

Stayed in numerous similar properties previously and this was as well equipped as any. Bit of an issue with flies at times even when we thought everything had been shut, but likely that is weather and time of year. We have 3 young children and a dog and there was plenty of room for everyone. The property is of very high quality in every aspect and it is in a very peaceful location with stunning views. Having young children meant that we rarely missed a beautiful sunrise! It has easy access to the coastal path and so there are beaches a 10 min walk away. This isn't a criticism but just be aware that access is via several single track roads, so if you are nervous of driving on those it may not be for you. We'd stay again in a heartbeat - a really lovely house.

  • "The cottage is gorgeous but lacking in some areas."

I would expect some basic equipment such as tin foil and food storage (ie Tupperware) as the cottage is remote and so we stayed in and cooked more than we thought. Also I expected more from a welcome pack than a pack of welsh cakes, milk and champagne (nice as it was!) I thought there would be some basic essentials such as bread, butter, local cheese, eggs or similar. However the main issue with this property was the fly problem. There were so many, especially in the sun room and it made that room unusable which was very disappointing. And cleaning 100s of dead flies every morning does not make a pleasant start to the day on holiday.

I'm sorry you felt the pack lacking, feedback from clients supported the upgrade in pack to premium champagne. We do supply foil but ran out, apologies however storage space for tupperware is limited given all the 5* facilities we provide. Our guests do generally like to support the local hospitality and sample the best UK seafood Anglesey offers. As to flies we did not see an issue on your departure however guests have control of window opening and being very rural adjacent to grazed fields there maybe some flies but not an infestation issue. A great place to stay to celebrate our son’s 40th Birthday. It was very well equipped with everything you needed. Beautiful decor & gorgeous bedrooms. Quality products have been used throughout. I wanted to take the sun room home! Stunning views over the sea. Loved watching the light change! So peaceful - just the sound of the birds & the sea. The only negative was that the living room chairs & sofas were too low & uncomfortable to sit in - had to use the cushions to support our backs but still didn’t feel right. Also it would have been helpful in the directions to actually name the caravan sites that you pass so you would definitely know you were on the right road! (There was no sign coming off the main road which said “ Lligwy beach). We all got lost (3 cars) on first arrival when it was nearly dark & being on an unfamiliar road. My son didn’t have a phone signal on the lanes so we couldn’t communicate the correct route once we found it! Overall we loved our stay & would book again. We were not happy at all that we couldn’t gain access to the property until 5pm & had to leave at 9am, given the money we paid for 4 nights. It doesn’t take that long to clean a property even with COVID cleaning, given that we left it very tidy & had to strip all the beds.

It's beautifully furnished and really well equipped, immaculately clean and tidy. Best of all though is the view from the patio at the back of the house which is breathtaking. The photos simply don't do it justice and it really has to be seen to be believed. We have stayed in lots of holiday houses both in the UK and abroad, and this is the best of the lot. The memories of sitting around the fire pit at the end of the day looking out over the sea will stay with us for a long time.

  • "Penrhyn Barn is a very special place to stay, not least because of the amazing vista, the value of which cannot be measured."

It exceeded expectations in a sense of the environment it’s set in, tranquil and peaceful, even my grandchildren, who are teenagers weren’t bored with their evening visits to the secret beach and exploring the coastal walks. My stepson met the owner on the beach by chance and I’d like to thank the family for providing us with a safe haven for our weeks adventure!

  • "Absolutely fabulous week, would not change anything about the Barn, it is perfect."

Rooms are spacious, bright and well furnished. The heat system is superb and kept the Barn at a lovely temperature throughout our stay. The views are fantastic and what a way to wake up in the morning, looking out to sea! The garden is secure which was helpful for our dog. Coastal walks, secret beach and amenities are all close by. The cafe at Lligwy Beach is a must see with the best hot chocolate I've tasted. The small details of Christmas decorations, binoculars and hand wash gave the Barn a homely feel and were appreciated. Will definitely visit again if available.

  • "Lost count of how many times we have stayed at Dulas Estate."

We watched you get to work on the Barn, and knew that it would be amazing. It is a fabulous property and the view does not disappoint. We have had a few week with brilliant weather. lazy days on Traeth Ora and BBQs on the terrace. Walks at Moelfre, Newborough and Aberffraw. Already booked for August next year and back at Penrhyn Farm in March.

  • "We came back and the house is just as brilliant."

The view is just absolutely stunning. Spent everyday on the beach swimming and crabbing, catching a record breaking 117 crabs! The weather was lovely which made the holiday and we all came back with a souvenir of a suntan. Very accessible and pretty coastal path and had a lovely trip to Moelfre enjoying lunch at Ann's Pantry. Overall a fantastic holiday and a relaxing break. I hope we will be back soon.

  • "We loved our stay at Penrhyn Barn for so many reasons."

The accommodation was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. Everything in the kitchen was top quality, the sitting room was comfortable with the best television I have ever seen (there are also televisions in the kitchen and the bedrooms), and the smaller sitting room, which we called the sun room, with windows on two sides with wonderful views, was a lovely place to sit and relax with a book. The patio and garden were delightful with lovely garden furniture and beautiful flower pots. It was so relaxing to sit on the patio and look out at the beautiful views and listen to the birds singing. It is only a short walk from the house down to a beautiful sandy beach or the coastal path. We loved it so much that we have already booked to return next year.

  • "A beautifully converted barn set in an amazing location (what a view)."

The barn was comfortable, spacious, well kitted out with a massive garden that was ideal for playing with the children. The Barn was a very short walk from some amazing beaches. We will be back.

  • "We absolutely love it here!"

It is a real home from home which seems to get nicer every time we come. We have days in and days out but whatever we do we love it. Every morning, when we see the view, it doesn't fail to take our breath away. We are lucky to be able to stay in such a stunning location. Another great week at this beautiful house - the sunrises and sunsets take your breath away, they got better and better each day. Hard to leave on Friday. See you soon.

  • "Penryn Barn What can I say in normal circumstances its all about Location Location Location, in the case of Penryn Barn it is all about VISTA VISTA VISTA."

The property really must be one of the best on the Island with sumptuous furnishings, fantastic sunrises across the ocean to stunning sunsets. Most of all we experienced an amazing sight of the Moon rising above The Great Orme, huge orange ball then bright white giving a sensational flood of moonlight across Lligwy beach, so special. Plenty of wild life from Buzzards, Sparrow Hawks, Seals, Cormorants Pheasants, partridge, ducks, even humans in boats, jet skis, kyaks. Penryn Barn is well placed for the Coastal Path and even more a secluded secret beach. Am not going to give the name !!! We were blessed to have been able to experience the most tranquil spot on Anglesey. Well we think so and we may be a bit biased. This has pushed us even further to re-locating to Anglesey. We did not realise but we were able to rekindle an old friendship, someone we have not seen for 15 years they were staying in Traeth Ora Cottage. Such a coincidence and lots of reminesense Thank you so much once again to you and all the team at Menai Holidays for arranging this tremendous, recent experience. Will you be able to top it ?
