  • "I can't fault this apartment."

We have stayed there twice now and both times it did not disappoint. The inside is beautifully decorated and consists of everything you would need for your stay. I would highly recommend this apartment and I will be visiting again.

  • "Generally the flat was clean and well equipped with all the things we needed."

The wi-fi was good but the mobile phone signal was non existent unless you used the phone via wi-fi. We found the sofas looked very nice but we’re not comfortable to sit on unless you lay on them. However, we had one major criticism and that was the showers, they were absolute death traps for anyone who was older as the trays became like an ice rink as soon as they became wet. The worst of the two was the main bathroom shower where I fell over once. We finally found the anti slip mat in a drawer but this really wasn’t big enough to cover the whole tray. My wife felt that it may have been the cleaning solution that the cleaners used that was making them like this. Certainly this needs addressing before someone has a bad fall. Otherwise, everything was excellent and we enjoyed our rather truncated stay despite the weather.

The only niggles re the property was no mirror near a socket to dry hair. some hooks behind bathroom door would be handy as not enough room to dry towels etc. otherwise we loved it.

There where however a few issues with privacy and heat. The electric blinds in the lounge did not work, so you were in a goldfish bowl with the lights on. They looked as if they have been broken for some time. Contacted Sykes but they were unable to resolve. The bath in the bedroom was unusable unless you had a the blind down or you had to have a bath in full view of anyone passing by. The windows should be one way. Easily done with with a privacy film. The heating was excellent if you liked it hot. I was not convinced that the controls worked.

  • "We have stayed in many luxury self catering holiday properties from Cornwall to Yorkshire, and we must say Quayside is up there with the best of them."

It is very important for us to have comfortable and appealing accommodation, on a couple of occasions when the weather wasn't so great it was a pleasure to be staying in Quayside, a superb kitchen for preparation of the odd meal and great smart TV for entertainment. A great apartment in a superb location, lots of facilities nearby and Snowdonia and Anglesey a short distance away.

  • "We had a lovely holiday although the apartment did not stand up to what was advertised."

I had to clean mirrors due to them being smeary. I noticed dust on pictures, skirting and behind ornaments. The TV in the kitchen didn't work and we couldn't even turn the bedroom TV on. The owner was apologetic and said he would get someone to look at it, this did not happen whilst we were there leaving my teenage daughter very disappointed. It was not Peaceful like someone said in a previous comment, there was a lot of road noise. The apartment is beautiful and comfy, the owners are nice but it's a shame about their cleaners as this could hinder bookings.

  • "Excellent location for exploring the surrounding area with easy access to motorways for exploring a little further a field."

Bright and modern apartment which was well liked by us all. The only thing that let it down was the cleanliness of the apartment, the assumption being that this is cleaned by a company as it was not up to the standards expected for such a home; that's not to say it was not clean just the level was below standard in some areas (children's handprints over television in lounge, chocolate on sofa, dust on toilet cupboards and wardrobe; dishwasher full). Having stayed in many holiday cottages this is one of our favourite, recommendations are to have cleaning spray and cloth in the kitchen, a couple of dishwasher tablets then if people want to buy them they can, bleach in the toilets.

  • "Looked excellent in photos and furnished to high standard but not really equiped for self catering."

Lacked basic things like cafetierre - (had to buy one) and poor selection of kitchen utensils. No spare bin bags or cloths for clearing work surfaces.

Owners Response: Elaine and I are constantly overjoyed to hear great reviews for our luxury contemporary apartment on the Menai Straits and so are quite surprised by these comments. We do however take constructive criticism and have added a third toilet brush to the apartment and a fresh supply of dishcloths and bin bags. Not every self-catering apartment provides such things. The cafetière was in the tall storage cupboard in the kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a myriad of utensils and appliances. We have enjoyed cooking meals for friends and family and have ten people around for Christmas dinner. Property Owner

  • "We had a problem finding the appartment, the directions and name are slightly deceptive!"

The appartment is in a big, obvious, block, but has no name visible from the road and is not by the quay or marina, but up the hill. Some problems were experienced with the facilities, but a phone call to the owner resulted in them being fixed the next day. The appartment was spotless and shiny, cleanest one I've ever stayed at. Big bedrooms, each with enough wardrobe space for a couple of months stay and well equipped bathrooms for each.
