  • "A pleasant stay in late September."

The weather was glorious showcasing the beautiful view from the property. The owners house is very close, but we were unhindered. The only let down for us was the shower didn’t get that hot, and it would have been good to have a tv in the kitchen diner. There is an Ariel on the wall, so presumably there has been a tv at some time. Some dishwasher tablets would have been nice( there was salt). It’s very narrow on the lane to the property if not approaching from the village. We used the local pub for Sunday lunch , recommended. The property is very peaceful and quiet, lovely sunsets and no light pollution to help stargazing. Value for money for the view alone.

Thank you for the feedback. New shower has since been fitted. Property Owner

Just a few very minor points that need addressing: 1) the light for the sink mirror in the bathroom does not operate. 2) the pieces of ironmongery that hold back the curtains in the bedroom need fixing to the wall. Very minor items - but thought you'd appreciate.

We couldn’t have asked for more. The bed was comfortable with a good view of the Menai straits and it is so peaceful there. It is higher than the other properties so the view is wonderful, especially from the sitting room which is up a circular wooden staircase. There is a lovely place outside to sit and enjoy the view too and absorb the atmosphere. All cooking utensils are there to self cater which we did. We would definitely like to return in the future. The duvet cover on our bedding did not smell fresh which left the bedroom with a odour .Trying to watch a tv program over the internet was met by constant buffering so pretty pointless,On the plus side the views were stunning from the patio and the owners were very pleasant they did buy us flowers and chocolates to apologize for the problems

The pictures on your website didn't really show the close proximity of the owners house so that was a surprise the owners in fairness were great and there weren't any issues and it didn't effect the view so honesty is the best policy in that case as for the property it was lovely new and clean probably the only thing I can think of as an improvement would be a tv in the kitchen the TV point and socket are already there location wise it was brilliant and that's why we picked it easy access for angelsey the lleyn Peninsula, llanddudno and port merion which visited on the Tuesday highly recommended for our anniversary

  • "On arriving the cottage was very cold and all downstairs floors still wet."

One bed room wall has mould all around the window and the one behind the bed has wallpaper starting to peel off. The kitchen... Microwave has rust inside the door. The markings on the cooker are all rubbed off and you are left with a piece of paper to fathom it out. There is a wet patch above the patio doors and there are rust patches on the washing machine. Upstairs there is a new smart tv but the wifi connection makes it immpossible to watch anything unless you are prepared to sit all night while it buffers its way through a programme. On Tuesday night my wife turned round to see a large snail making its way along the wall behind the sofa.. A measure of how damp the building is !!! The bathroom is on the small side though adequate .. But the extractor fan was filthy with cobwebs. All in all this is NOT the five star accommodation that i expected to find when i arrived and well below the standard of all the other Sykes cottages we have rented over the last few years.

Many thanks for your feedback. We are really sorry to hear that the property was not as expected and as we are ‘onsite’ we would have been happy to address any issues that you had during your stay if we had been made aware of them. We have been here over 12 years and pride ourselves on providing a comfortable stay for our guests and our visitor’s book that is in the property confirms this. Our normal check in time is 3pm, however as you arrived an hour early our cleaner was keen to accommodate your early arrival, but she was still working the floor was wet. It also meant that she was unable to give the premises the final once over and refill tea/coffee etc. In addition, the heating is on a timer and would have come on prior to your 3.00pm arrival to ensure the property was nice and warm, but this had not happened as you arrived early. This property was renovated/built in 2010 following strict building regulations and we can confirm that it is not damp. There were some condensation spots on the wall due to a lack of ventilation but these spots have now been cleaned. The small areas where wallpaper had started to peel have been addressed and as we are now at the end of the season any areas that need decoration or touching up will now be done. The microwave has now been replaced and as the property is in a rural area the wifi can be a little inconsistent but we have had no previous concerns from guests. The dials on the cooker are worn but are clearly labelled on a laminated piece of card. Thank you again for your feedback Property Owner
