"Excellent stay, beautiful house and so cosy."
The pictures listed don’t do this house justice, we were blown away. Just a top tip if you’re following satnav to find the stables, input the name of the house and not the postcode. The postcode radius spans a long way and doesn’t take you to the stables. Ahead of our stay I tried calling the owner a few times and on the day of arrival too, the mobile/landline listed isn’t a great way of communicating with the owners as no messages picked up or call backs either which was frustrating. Email seems best, but obviously not very quick. House super spacious and always warm too.

The property
Tarbert 6.4 miles.
Achaglachgach Stables near Tarbert in Argyll are where forever memories are made.
Situated on the shores of West Loch Tarbert, this beautifully designed stable conversion offers ample accommodation, making it the perfect destination for family gatherings or reunions with friends.
The grandeur of the property is established from the get-go with a sumptuous open-plan living and entertaining room measuring an extraordinary 50 feet in length and complete with a feature vaulted ceiling, oak flooring and an attractive woodburning stove.
The underfloor heating helps to make visitors feel warm and snug and there is plenty of seating for guests to recline, chill out and catch up with each other.
The stylish contemporary kitchen offers all the facilities needed to cook meals for all the house’s guests and there is an inviting dining table which can seat up to 10 people.
Imagine sitting around the table, tucking into a delicious meal created from locally sourced produce, clinking glasses and making the most of quality time with family and friends.
There’s likely to be some friendly rivalry over the bedrooms but don’t worry they’re all pretty amazing.
Choose from the ground-floor, king-sized bedroom with feature beamed ceiling, patio door leading out to the gardens and fabulous en-suite bath and shower room, or upstairs there’s another elegant king-size bedroom which also has a beamed ceiling.
Three twin bedrooms complete the first-floor accommodation with two additional bathrooms here too.
Moving outside, if the Scottish weather is being kind, then there is loads of space for children (and dogs!) to run around as well as a picnic table and benches perfect for an impromptu picnic lunch, dinner or drinks.
If you do decide to leave the house at any point, then don’t worry – there’s plenty to see and do for everyone.
From hill walks, watersports, horse riding, golf and boat hire to more sedate activities such as a gentle stroll on the beach, exploring local woodlands, viewing walled gardens, tours of the Giant’s Grave in Torinturk and St Columba’s Cave and an array of seafood restaurants in Tarbert, all just a short drive away.
Achaglachgach Stables really does tick all the boxes when it comes to offering a holiday home which is spacious, stylish and well located.

Where you’ll be staying
TARBERT
Lochgilphead 14 miles.
Built around an inlet on Loch Fyne, Tarbert has long been both a harbour and a key strategic point in the history of Scotland's rugged West Coast. Tarbert once required three castles to protect it, and the ruins of one of these can still be visited today. Built around the natural harbour, fishing and sailing continue to play an important part in the life of the village. There are many annual events to interest all tastes including the sailing regatta on Loch Fyne, seafood and music festivals. The 87 mile Kintyre Way stretches from Tarbert to the south of the Kintyre Peninsula, and offers walking for all levels and with ferry connections to Islay and Arran, there is simply no better location to relax and explore this rugged and picturesque part of Scotland.
