"A splendid property and location."
The apartment is very well equipped and maintained and the bed is worthy of mention as it is very comfortable. Jane, who met us and promptly answered any queries which we had during the week, is lovely and the owners are very lucky to have her. "Cutlery drawer and items filthy Cupboard under sink filthy, plus empty bottles, soap powder box and dirty cloths left scattered underneath Oven dirty and greasy Toilet brushes filthy one left with feces on Bath mat dirty, mouldy all over Windows dirty Patio unkept, we had to wed between cracks, dead plant pots, artificial balls left on floor (couldn’t be hung as chains were rusty and broken There is no view from patio to estuary, view is the car park Noise from workmen (we were informed less than 24 hours before going, I asked for a refund, the owners said it would up to Sykes, couldn’t get through so we felt we had to go or lose our money, we were told they should be finished the day after we arrived, they were still there after we left, constant noise from drills and scaffolding erected outside patio, felt intrusivel and didn’t want to sit outside on it) Sykes later said it was up to owners."
When we complained owners response was sorry about inconvenience and mess you found but hope you enjoyed largs and the surrounding area. Asked for refund or at least 50 percent. They eventually repaid 125 (no refund really considering we’d had enough and left the day before we were due to come home) Bad response from owners, but why would they care they live abroad. Have photos and emails to back up statement made. Would love to post them. At least hopefully the holidaymakers due in after us would not have to find what we did and company and owners cleaned up,their act. By the way the company they pay to clean only have an hour and half spot. That’s not long enough to do a thorough clean (they’re comment) not mine

"Flat itself was ideal."
Couldn’t fault cleanliness and well equipped. However the one big thing that let it down was temperature of hot water which resulted in guest scalding hand so badly that it has so far resulted in a 2 night hospital stay. Jane was informed of this who told me that plumbing had recently been checked and did offer to pick us up from hospital in Greenock, also further messages to check on guest. I feel that there should be signs up warning of possible high temperature coming from taps. Jane an absolute gem to the owners. Great communication and local knowledge.

"Cumbrae view was a marvelous find, excellent location, very clean and everything you could wish for."
Would recommend it to anyone. Short walk from Largs centre. Jane was so helpful and friendly when she showed us round. There were a couple of hiccups we did a load in the washer but couldn't get the tumble dryer programme to work. Also car parking was hit and miss, it being a very small car park. On the Thursday we all went out in our daughters car for the first time it had moved that week and noticed a dent in the drivers side wheel arch. It had got to have happened on the car park. She had parked in the last bay on the right-hand side. On our last day we noticed another car belonging to a nurse visiting flats also had a dent in exactly the same place. If you can avoid that parking bay. Having said all that we would go back there in future

"Great location for the Ayreshire coast and the Firth of Clyde islands."
The apartment was easy to find and access. It had everything we needed, was comfortable and quiet. There is no 'allocated' off-road parking but we always managed to find a space and there is also plenty of free parking on the road outside.

Fantastic location within walking distance of all the local amenities. Had everything you could possibly need. Was spotlessly clean and the grounds kept beautiful. Would highly recommend. Jane the local agent was brilliant, helped us work out how to use the hob. Will definitely book again .

Just one small problem with the ensuite shower which had very low water pressure and fluctuated between very hot and very cold water. May need servicing. But otherwise we really liked the apartment.

"One of the nicest, if not the nicest, holiday properties we have rented and we have been renting for many years."
I would be hard pushed to find any faults with it. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and well equipped. Largs is a lovely little seaside town, very friendly, with lots of nice restaurants. The ferries across to the little island of Cumbrae are the icing on the cake. So as you may guess from the above, we really enjoyed our break and can't wait to return.

Nice bright interior comfortable . A short walk from centre of Largs lots of places to eat out and of course ice cream from Nardini's . Handy location for touring I think we will probably be back at some time.

"Appartment was everything we expected, but unfortunately due to the COVID regulations it was in a lockdown area and we were very limited in what was available to do."
We wanted to cancel but Sykes were not willing to refund us because of no travel restrictions, we were going with my brother and his wife and sharing the cost but regulations stated only one household was allowed and Sykes would not refund us so we had to go bearing all the cost alone ( please Sykes take a look at your policies). Nevertheless it was a lovely appartment and under different circumstances would go back again.

We found the apartment to be modern, spacious, clean and very comfortable. It has EVERYTHING you could possibly need. Location was great, in a quiet area but very close to the town, marina and promenade. Had a wonderful stay here; will definitely book again 5*. (Also Jane who met us on arrival was not only a lovely, friendly person but fully explained everything to us).

Near the town center of largs. Many places to eat and shops to enjoy. The apartment is in superb order, recently refurbished and all inside was new. although there are many flats in Castle Bay Court it was very quiet. Balcony makes a big difference to sit on a sunny day. Jane who met us to give us keys and show us around was a lovely person who we could contact if we needed to , which we had no need to. I will return to this apartment in the future. A really pleasant stay. Many ferries to take you across to Millport, Rothesay, Arran, Dunoon nearby.

We enjoyed visits to the marvellous Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery in Glasgow, travelling by train and subway ( very easy!) , and to the Scottish Maritime Museum in Irvine; we also toured by car around Lochs Lomond, Fyne,and Eck, returning by ferry from Dublin to Gourock, seeing some magnificent scenery along the way. We also spent a day on Great Cumbrae , and I loved the island so much I went back for a second visit, exploring as much as I could on foot. It's a peaceful and unspoilt lace, great for cycling and bird watching, and only 10- 15 minutes away by ferry.

It is in a great position, with a view of the sea. It is a short walk into town along the sea front which has stunning views of Cumbrae and the hills of Arran beyond. Would definitely recommend.

My husband being disabled , I would never book a cottage without designated parking. This was one of the most comfortable and well equipped holiday lets we have had from Sykes.

The property
Cumbrae View is a ground floor flat situated in Largs, North Ayrshire.
The property opens up to a spacious entrance hall, leading towards two bedrooms: one super king-size with an en-suite bathroom and WC, and one twin with an electric heater.
There is also a family bathroom and WC.
It has an open-plan living room, fitted kitchen and dining area with a fireplace.
The living room houses a fantastic corner sofa, with seating for five, an armchair and a TV mounted on the wall, directly above the fireplace.
There is a glass dining table and chairs, able to seat up to six guests.
The kitchen area is fully equipped and ready to use for some excellent home-cooking.
Outside has a balcony area with furniture, overlooking the shared garden with views overlooking the sea and is accessed via the living room.
Off-road parking is available.
Largs has a number of fantastic opportunities for guests to explore, including visiting Kelburn Castle, which was originally built in the 13th century and remodelled in the 16th century.
It also has a country centre, with activities for the whole family.
Also nearby is Largs beach, which makes for a fun, lazy day trip to relax and unwind, while the kids play.
Cumbrae View is the ultimate holiday destination.

Glasgow 33 miles; Ayr 33 miles.
Located on the Firth of Clyde, the town of Largs is a traditional Scottish seaside resort, with a Victorian promenade situated just over 30 miles from Glasgow. Largs offers a variety of shops, including some chain and some independent stores, plus there are several pubs and restaurants. Visit Vikingar, a family Viking experience or enjoy the amusement arcades on the promenade whilst indulging in an ice-cream. Photographers amongst you can capture the wonderful views across the Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Cumbrae located just a mile offshore, or perhaps take the short ferry trip across to explore this most accessible Scottish island. In summer months you can enjoy a cruise on the Waverley Paddle Steamer. The Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park offers walking and cycling for everyone, as well as a range of wildlife to spot. Visit Kelburn Castle with its 13th century castle adorned with graffiti from a group of Brazilian artists, or meander around the scenic grounds.
