  • "Lovely location."

Stunning views. Cosy when cold and stormy. Easy to get organised for days out with 2 teenagers and cook/recover from mountain days in the evening. Miss my morning brew in the little lochside bay already! Had a super week, which was most needed by all.

Thank you for your glowing review Peter. And thank you for sharing your adventures with me. You sure did make the most of the snowy conditions with some skiing and winter walking. So happy you enjoyed Property Owner

Be welcomed by the charming kitchen/diner, offering a homely space where you can throw together home-cooked meals in the spacious kitchen, filled with fantastic amenities before sitting down at the dining table, catching up over an evening of wine and chatter.

After everything's been cleared away, snuggle up on one of the plush sofas in front of the cracking multi-fuel stove, letting a mug of tea warm up your hands as you decide on a film for the evening.

Where you’ll be staying

BALLACHULISH

Kinlochleven 8 miles; Fort William 15 miles.

Deriving its name from the Gaelic Baile a' Chaolais meaning 'The Village by the Narrows’, Ballachulish straddles the narrows at the mouth of Loch Leven. Encompassing North Ballachulish and South Ballachulish, these two villages were separated until 1975 when the Ballachulish Bridge opened. North Ballachulish sits just across the bridge while South Ballachulish lies 3 miles to the east on the southern side. North Ballachulish offers a hotel and petrol station/shop, whilst South Ballachulish has a supermarket, coffee shop, Post Office, pubs, hotels and a Tourist Information Centre/gift shop. Ballachulish attracts many visitors throughout the year and is a perfect base for those wishing to enjoy outdoor pursuits. Ballachulish once had a major slate quarrying operation which continued for over 250 years until 1955 when the quarry was closed and today the old quarries are now being reclaimed by nature and the area is famous once again but this time as an idyllic holiday location. Nearby Kinlochleven boasts Ice Factor, an indoor ice and rock climbing centre, plus Fort William, with the impressive title of the Outdoor Capital of the UK, is situated 15 miles to the north with access to the famous Nevis Range, and Glencoe is within easy reach. With Fort Augustus and Loch Ness about an hour’s drive away, Ballachulish is a fabulous holiday location.
