  • "Overall quite disappointed with the property."

Carpets were disgusting. Very tired looking property.Smelled very damp.Could do with an overhaul. roads around the site are pretty rough.Shame as it could be a nice place with a little cash injection. Left early and Wouldn't return.

  • "Dirty and tired."

Stayed at NO. 16. Absolutely disgusting. We tried to stick it out but after a few days we couldn't carry on with it. We contacted Skyee Cottage to be helped but received little support. We had to find another property. We were then told after we left that the carpets and sofa are going to be replaced on the 20th June 2024. Overall... Cons. 1. Decore is tired. 2. Carpets are soiled with heavy stains. 3. Sofa and chairs are rancid. Absolutely disgusting. Made us feel itchy and uncomfortable with the state of the place. 4. Found dirt and food benind sofa. Kitchen draws had crumbs and dirt. 5. Windows were filthy and full of cobwebs. Thick Dirt and dust behind and under beds. 6. Never complained about a holiday before but this was a joke. Had to wash our cloths when we got out. Pros. 1. Mattress was dirty but not stained. Very hard but not a problem. 2. Room sizes were ok as well. 3. The Site was us ok for us . Staff were very friendly. Pool was ok. And we liked the table tennis and ping pong. 4. Parking for 1 car.. 5.Decking area was nice. 6. Kitchen has what you need. (Tiles are gruby tho). Please check the standard of no. 16 Savita Cottage before going. Ensure the upgrades have happened. It's no joke. It's terrible. I don't consider myself to be fussy. But it was awful especially for the price. As it stands we are awaiting some sort of resolution. But to be honest I'm not holding out much hope. As we just keep getting told the owner will be spoken to and then we'll get an update. As of close of business today we have had nothing

  • "We were very pleased with the accommodation."

It was clean and comfortable. We did feel the kitchen could have benefited with a small sharp knife, baking tray, more knives & forks, mugs and maybe a pair of kitchen scissors. Especially when you are self catering, potentially for 6 people. I read the review from a gentleman in March 2024 and have to say he can’t of been in Savita Cottage. The place is dated but not dirty!!!! The staff at reception were friendly and helpful and the swimming pool and sauna were lovely. Thank you xxx

  • "Decor was very tired."

Carpets need cleaned. Beds were OK and clean. Suite is in need of replacement - cushions look filthy. No instructions regarding heating or hot water and only 1 person could shower unless want to wait an hour for water to heat again. TV reception not good. Kitchen not well equipped as described. Reception and facilities closed at 6.30pm Friday and Saturday we were there - most disappointing. Roads around park were full of potholes. Paid £360 for 2 nights - most definitely not worth this amount. I would not recommend and most certainly won't be back!!!

  • "This is by far the least equipped cottage we have rented - there was literally the bare minimum of kitchen utensils and hardly anything in the welcome pack."

Not even salt and pepper in the pots for them. Apart from that there was very little parking and the staff were grumpy about us needing to park briefly one morning to load up car 2.

The swimming pool in the leisure complex was a welcome addition especially the children. The two ladies on the reception desk were always cheerful, very helpful and pleasant to talk to. Two niggles with regard to the accommodation, the internal doors squeaked loudly and need a drop of oil and there is a constant tapping noise emanating from the water meter in the cupboard under the sink.

Spacious and comfortable . We took our 3 grandchildren ( 11, 13, 15 ) with us. They loved it. Yes the carpet needed cleaning, however, this didn't influence us to be negative. I know some reviews were very negative. Don't let this put you off going. Thoroughly enjoyed been there. The pool was great. Couldn't get the kids out of it. All in all a wonderful holiday. Not useful when trying to shower family of 6 and got cold water.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. The owner is aware of the hot water issues, this is due to the age of the heating system and the small hot water tank, this will be rectified when there is a break in bookings. There is a boost button located in the property and the staff at reception will assist with any hot water issues. As a reminder there is an onsite swimming pool with full shower facilities on site if needed. Property Owner

On Sunday night I was really upset to hear my granddaughter ask to go home. On all our other holiday"s it"s the opposite. At best it's total misrepresentation of these premises at its worst it's fraud the picture of the premises are totally outdated. I wish I had read the trip advisor reviews and not bothered to book total waste of money and more importantly our family holiday, I don't expect a refund but it would be the least you could do as a gesture of goodwill. As for publication of my feedback/complaint I don't think you will.

The second day we had no hot water and was told at reception about the booster button for hot water. There is no information in the lodge about that. Also we could not open the door to the balcony, as there seemed to be a problem with the lock. We were out every day so that did not affect us too much. The lodge was all we needed and quiet, situated at the lower end of the site.

  • "Unfortunately the standard of accommodation is not as described."

It had not been cleaned on arrival, However, the resort staff were marvellous and cleaned it immediately. As this accommodation is privately owned, it seems there was a lack of communication about whose responsibility it was to clean. The sofa is threadbare with holes in and awful improvised cushions stuffed in making the seats uncomfortable. It is advertised as a standing shower in the main bathroom but there is no hook at height, so in effect only one shower workable. This shower leaked all over the floor. There were not enough of the same sized glasses in the kitchen for 5 of us (4 of each) and glasses were cracked. There was not enough cutlery either (only 4 knives!). It would have been nice to have more plates than just the six as not enough then for any extra when prepping food etc. The prepping knives (paring etc) were all very blunt and unusable, meaning the only sharp knife available to use in prepping was the serrated bread knife! The fridge door was broken. The carpets were filthy and desperately need replacing. It could be made very nice but clearly the owners have not spent any money on it, so for the price we paid, it was inadequate. This is a shame as the resort itself was lovely. If I were to go back, I would rent one of the resort owned cottages as they appeared much nicer.

Thank you for your feedback. We want all our guests to enjoy the facilities as advertised on the website. The issues raised are being rectified and we note that the owner has made Goodwill Gesture to you for the inconvenience caused. Property Owner

Only one disappointment. The kettle was cracked and showed signs of melting! I informed the Reception and they said they would advise the owners but nothing happened and we had to purchase a new kettle ourselves which we then took home. I did leave a note in the chalet when we left. Apart from this we had a briliant stay.

We like this place mostly for a nice view, good size of accommodation and really nice swimming pool which unfortunately was close becouse of pandemic. Path between lodges are not in good condition (hill one) that should be repaired. I was surprised as well that we was need to clean all forniture on veranda, they was not ready when we arrived, and very dirty after winter time. Is one of the places you could visit every year. The cottage was very spacious and comfortable with all that we needed. The lodge park itself was quiet and well maintained with great facilities at centre, with a good swimming pool and lovely lounge/bar. Loads to explore around the area and we even fitted in a day trip to Belfast on the ferry. Our only point of improvement was that the carpets in the cottage were a bit tired so either need replacing or a good deep clean. We would love to come back though to Brunston Castle and that area of Scotland.

  • "The cottage was in a really lovely position within the complex, right in the bottom corner."

We would certainly stay again. The facilities on site looked good, although we didn't use the leisure complex. The reception staff were very polite and helpful too. We had a problem with the plug in the bath -it had obviously been broken sometime with the previous guests and the cleaners hadn't reported it. We reported it to reception on the Sunday morning and it had been fixed before we arrived back at the lodge-excellent service! The only negative comment about the cottage was that the cleaning on changeover day could be improved slightly and the windows hadn't been cleaned inside for a while/skirting boards in some areas were dusty.

This was one of the main reasons for booking ,so that my son could go out for meals within vicinity without having to travel. This resulted in staff having to shop and cook rather than eating out. I feel the advert should have been changed and updated. As you will realise it is extremely hard to find the right accommodation and facilities for him and spent a lot of time making sure I got it right which unfortunately did not happen.

About the location

DAILLY

Ayr 16 miles.

Located on the Water of Girvan in South Ayrshire, Dailly, or ‘New Dailly’ to distinguish it from ‘Old Dailly’, was developed in the mid 18th-century as a coal mining village. The ruins of the Robert Adam-designed Dalquharran Castle stand on a hill overlooking the village. The ruined church at Old Dailly dates from pre-Reformation times, and houses the mysterious Blue Stones; thought to be Charter Stones, ancient symbols granted to an area in place of a written charter, several legends have grown up around them. One holds they were Sanctuary Stones and would protect anyone sitting against them, and another belief is that their mystical powers would bring good fortune to anyone touching them. The village of Dailly today has a pub, shop and post office and the series of Dailly Trails make for ideal walking, forming part of the Carrick Way. Dailly’s proximity to the Ayrshire coast makes it an ideal venue for exploring the many golf courses, beaches and castles, including spectacular Culzean Castle, and with the Galloway Forest Park nearby and its many walks and cycle rides, this is a great location to use as a base for touring.
