"The property is in a lovely location with great views over the loch & is a comfortable base to explore further afield."
However, 1 hand towel, 1 semi-bath & 1 bath towel are not enough for two people staying 7 nights. Nor is 1 dishwasher tablet. Similarly 1 bin bag when guests are asked to empty the bins & move the wheely bins midweek for emptying is not enough. We had to use the oven & microwave because the kitchen hob has a fault. The listing said the local shop was 6.9 miles away: the nearest local shop we could find (after asking the locals in the pub) was 14 miles away in Strontian. In summary, this is a lovely place to stay but its management needs to be improved to make it special.
We are very sorry to learn about your disappointing stay at The Apartment and apologise for the short -comings you describe. It is a great shame that you did not contact anyone while you were staying to allow us to easily resolve the issues and so ensure you had an enjoyable holiday. Property Owner

Great views from balcony. Very comfortable bed . Really nice shower. Thanks for an excellent stay.

"We enjoyed a fantastic week, staying at The Apartment, in Ardgour."
Felt really at home from the moment we stepped into the apartment. Fantastic location with stunning views with lots of wildlife watching with the otters, cormorants, oyster catchers, etc. Lovely base to explore the area from as well as kick back and relax. Will definitely return. Highly recommend.

"What a stunning apartment in a superb location!"
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and look forwards to returning there soon.

"What a wonderful place!"
The Apartment has everything you need, it’s so comfortable and modern and everything is high quality. Lovely welcome basket, thank you. The views are magnificent and it’s so quiet. Great location and love the brewery which is a short walk away. I hope the ferry gets fixed soon as it does add extra time on to your journey. The free passenger ferries are great tho. I could have happily stayed another week thanks to the lovely accommodation.

"Overall, we loved our stay at the Apartment."
It is a lovely base to explore the area. The views from the balcony are unparalleled and totally stunning. We enjoyed watching the world go by. Corran ferry is not running now for the next six weeks so add an extra hour each way when driving to Fort William, down a single track road. The best find was the Ardgour Ales microbrewery, a short walk from the property. Fergus will serve you award- winning ales, bake fresh bread and delicious burgers. He also is a fount of knowledge about the area. However, we were disappointed in some aspects of our stay and felt that the Apartment lacked some of the 5 star finishing touches that we expect from Sykes Cottages. 1) On arrival we found that the place mats in the cupboard were dirty with stains on them! 2) The transparent shower gel and hand wash were less than half full which just gave the impression that the owner could not be bothered! 3) The "Welcome Basket" was the least welcoming we have ever had! A loaf, a bag of crisps and milk in the fridge! What happened to the beers and wine to sample, as advertised in the previous guest reviews? Even some fresh flowers would have made the experience more welcoming. 4) Some wooden beams on the balcony are rotting so this is just to flag it up for safety reasons. 5) Every previous accommodation has provided essentials such as tin foil, cling film, dishwasher tablets and spare black bags. There were none here. It just felt that the cleanliness and finer details let the holiday down.

"Lovely apartment in stunning location ideal for touring the Ardnamurchan Peninsula and beyond."
Well equipped, comfortable and clean and the thoughtful welcome basket a surprise bonus. Outstanding views from the veranda. Thank you for providing us with such a wonderful base for our holiday. Please change the directions provided from Corran Ferry as they are misleading and take you well past the apartment, unless we read them incorrectly?? Fortunately the apartment is very recognisable from the photos and no harm done. Also directions from the north and Fort William by road via the A830 and A861 would be helpful as road signage encourages motorists to use an alternative route because of the current ferry issues.

"We completely fell in love with this place and didn’t want to leave."
The location and views were stunning and it was a great base to explore the area from. It had all the facilities you could need including a well stocked big kitchen incredible shower and a really comfortable bed to get a great sleep. Everything was labelled to help you find all the switches. The welcome package was the cherry on top, it would have been useful to know about beforehand as we picked up some pricey milk on the way in that wasn’t needed. Its worth being aware that the ferry is ten pounds each way and the times seemed semi unreliable although it is constantly back and forth you just cant set your watch by it. The drive around the loch to Fort William can take almost an hour so factor it into travel plans. Also the local facilities are half an hour away so we stocked up in Fort William to save a bit of money. We would absolutely love to return here for longer one day.

"What a lovely property for a holiday, especially with a brewery just down the road, make sure you order a pizza on the Friday you arrive."
The property is very well appointed, and has an amazing shower, oh and the view of the loch as well. Plenty to do and see. We climbed Ben Nevis, visited Ardnamurchan Point, which is well worth the drive, especially if you also visit The Abandoned Village of Glendrian, while you are there, and then drive down to the bay to paddle in the sea. The train from Fort William to Mallaig is also recommended. Be careful if you drive to Fort William around the loch, as there is plenty of deer. Will will return, yes.

"Excellent luxury apartment with beautiful views of the Loch."
Bed very comfortable and an excellent welcome pack supplied. The perfect place to just chill out. Fergus’s food and real ale a short walk away (we found his food excellent). Enjoyed meeting the owners who were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble (thank you).

"The property is spacious and more than catered for our needs."
Fantastic views across the area. Comfortable, warm and quiet inside, with everything we needed. My partner would have liked more than one main towel to last a week ideally. We would love to stay again, however a holiday week running from Friday to Friday really is a pain. Forcing you to travel on the busiest day of the week really takes the edge of a relaxing holiday. I am not sure if this is the owners choice or Sykes insistence? Such a shame.

"Stunning property, beautiful setting, and apartment had everything we needed."
Welcome pack was a nice touch thank you.
-
"A great place to stay; clean and bright with fabulous views."
Would definitely stay again x

"We really enjoyed our stay at The Apartment."
Lovely setting and views across the loch.

"Brilliant location and facilities, couldn't have asked for more with regard to a holiday apartment."
The only problem we had was the lack of ferry which added considerable time to any visit we wished to make and the loch side drive to the apartment can be quite stressful at busy times. We know this is a temporary problem but may last the summer. We were told in advance re the Ferry problem which we appreciated but perhaps future occupants should also be apprised of the time issue and that they will have 15/16 miles of single track road to navigate. Having said that we have had a brilliant holiday.

"Absolutely brilliant property to get away to for a few days in the Scottish highlands."
Views are incredible off the balcony, and you’re off the beaten track enough to feel like you have absolute privacy whilst enjoying the breathtaking views from the balcony. Really did feel lucky to be able to wake up and sit outside with a morning coffee with the canvas of Loch Linnhe and the surrounding mountains right in front of you as the sun rises. As if the property wasn’t welcoming enough in itself, the owner had left a great welcome hamper full of goodies, wine and beer amongst other things. The property itself has everything you’d need, and was pristinely clean - not to mention the incredibly comfy bed! You can’t hear a pin drop at night time, and we were always asleep in seconds after a day of walking about (particularly up the famous Ben Nevis which isn’t a far drive at all on the other side of the Loch) Already looking forward to heading back in the future, and I won’t be looking anywhere else to stay as this property has it all. Thank you very much

"We had a fabulous stay at the apartment."
The views across the loch are amazing and the apartment itself is perfect for two. Would definitely return.
-
"This was a fantastic property, struggle to see how anyone could visit and not be blown away by everything this location has to offer."
Can't wait to go back and discover more.

"This was our second stay at the Apartment and would return any time."
-
"Peaceful beautiful location the views from all windows in the apartment were lovely the apartment was clean warm and always a pleasure to return after a long day out and about ."
I only had on problem that even after a week i never mastered and that was the cooker Hob way to modern for me Lol
-
"The apartment is lovely and is perfect for a couple."
The view from the balcony is fantastic and minimalist layout and decor make it very easy to keep tidy. The location is great as well as it has a good balance between remoteness and accessibility of shops if you need them. However, we did take plenty of provisions with us as we only wanted to make the trip to Fort William once and the shop at Strontian is a bit “limited”. Very nice welcome pack including some beer from the micro brewery just down the road which is well worth a visit (several actually in my case). The only small issues were: The smoke alarm which went off when you make toast even if you don’t burn it - and it keeps going off even after you’ve silenced it, and there could be a bit more crockery so you’re not putting the dishwasher on half full all the time (or washing up manually of course!). All in all, a very enjoyable week.

"What a fantastic apartment, such a peaceful location."
View is amazing! Cannot fault a thing. Would definitely like to return in the future. The goodies were a lovely thought
-
"The directions provided by Sykes took us 3 miles past the apartment and were counter-productive."
The directions should be, "In Ardgour leave ferry, turn right and after about a mile the property is on the left just before Kiel House."
-
"Really great location and accommodation - the place was excellent and exceeded expectations."
Would really recommend it.
-
"Lovely apartment and well kept."
Fantastic location. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you very much. Lin and Ian

"It is an amazing place, great views & spotlessly clean."
Been twice now & will definitely be going back. A small table lamp would be lovely to be able to put on when watching tv instead of the big lights or no lights. Met the owners too who were lovely.

"An incredible holiday - thank you!"
The accommodation was wonderful: clean, comfortable, with everything we needed and an amazing shower! The views from all around the accommodation were incredible - from the loch to the trees and mountains, in the rain, sunshine and even moonlit. The balcony provides an excellent sheltered area to take it all in. The location is incredible: wildlife everywhere! Just on the drive out from the accommodation we saw buzzards, hedgehog, deer rutting, the Ardgour mountain goats, seals, fins in the sea and many different birds - the highlight was watching an otter fishing! The little brewery just down the road was lovely and the welcome basket was much appreciated as the nearest shop is a little drive away. Would thoroughly recommend and would love to return one day.

"Excellent location, perfect in every way"
-
"Super apartment; and a lovely welcome basket."
Would fully recommend to friends wanting to stay in the area.

"The cottage was beyond what we expected and spotlessly clean."
The owners left a thoughtful and extensive welcome basket and small additions to the property like soaps, disposable BBQ and binoculars really made all the difference. It felt like the owners really wanted us to get the most out of our time in the cottage. Catching the ferry saved so much time and the fact that the ferry times were sent by Sykes a few days before our stay was very helpful and much appreciated. I would just say that the 9.30 pm last ferry does need factoring in to nights out to avoid the hour long drive round the Loch. It was a real shame that the village pub was closed due to a fire but this was no reflection on the cottage and the pub was due to open again in a few weeks.

"The only thing that I would say to any future guests is that when booking any trips requiring the ferry."
Avoid Sunday mornings as it seems that’s when they do any maintenance on the Corran Ferry. We had booked the Jacobite train to Mallaig and the Ferry wasn’t ready for sailing so we had to drive the long way round to get to Fort William on time. That was a 45 minute round trip we did not plan for.
-
"Superb stay and perfect location at the Apartment."
The welcome pack was the best we have ever had and the Apartment was lovely and warm on our arrival. We will definitely stay here again.

Set within wooden frames, they complement the worktops and fixtures, almost reflected in the wood floors sweeping across the room, curl up on the L-shape sofa and listen to the gentle tapping of the rain on the skylight above you, while you enjoy a film together, whereas on a bright, summer's day, they flood the room with sunlight.
A well-appointed kitchen sits in one corner of the room where you can rustle up delicious home-cooked meals during your stay, and from here you will come to the shower room displaying modern fixtures and an all-white finish.
