  • "We had a brilliant week at this cottage."

Comfy beds and well stocked with everything you need. Loved having the fire on in the evenings. Lovely rural location, so it was very peaceful, but not too far from places to visit. Hope to visit again

  • "We love this cottage and have been here twice now and are going back next year."

We love the size and the fact that it has four bathrooms. It's peace and quiet for us and the surroundings are stunning. It's off the beaten track but is just wonderful with plenty of drives to explore the surrounding areas. The wood burning stove is a plus too. There are however, some issues with the cottage that I have highlighted in the book that's left. One of the living room door handles was stiff, you can't turn off the TV in the living room with the remote, the TV in one of the bedrooms doesn't work and the shower is cold. But otherwise, it has everything you need for a perfect holiday

Thank you for re booking and pointing out the small issues. These have now been sorted. We are always on hand to sort out issues during a stay and would have been more than happy to replacement batteries in the tv remotes etc if we had been informed during your stay. Property Owner

  • "We had a fantastic week at Whiteside, a lovely building in a peaceful setting."

Both myself and my partner, my elderly parents, my sister, niece her partner and my 8 mth old great nephew had a wonderful time in this very spacious home. Three bedrooms on the ground floor, one with en-suite, meant no stairs to for them with the ready of the property mostly on one level. Lots of areas you could sneak off to and be on your own if you wanted. The property is surrounded by farmland with loads of sheep and lambs and the only noise we heard was them.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and enjoyed the space and peace and quiet. Property Owner

Well worth considering if wanting to visit this part of Scotland.

We’re glad you enjoyed your stay and yes, this part of Ayrshire does have lots to offer. It’s also a great base to travel a little further in all directions and discover places further afield. Property Owner

  • "We loved this property."

It's set in peaceful surroundings and has everything you need. The house is huge with four bedrooms and four bathrooms. One of the bedrooms having an en-suit. The beds are comfy too. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need. The cooker and oven is easy to use. There's even a warming plate thingy but we didn't use it. There are two conservatories, one of which is a games room with a pool table. This has to be the best property we have stayed at. There are narrow roads to get to the property and you drive through the owners farm. It's very quiet. The town of Darvel is just over a mile away and has convenience shops. Kilmarnock is a twenty minutes drive. Good size kitchen and family bathroom, utility room and beautiful garden. Huge driveway also. We loved the property so much, we have booked again next year. The owners are friendly too.

Thank you, we’re glad you enjoyed your stay and the cottage. We look forward to welcoming you back next year. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful home."

Perfect for a couple of days away with friends. The location is great - not too far from the city but feels like you’re in a totally isolated and peaceful part of the countryside. I would say the water pressure let us down a little - limited pressure and struggled to get hot water consistently which caused a bit of a bother. Otherwise would definitely stay again!

Pleased you enjoyed your stay. The water supply is a private gravity fed supply and the water pressure will never be as great as mains water. Regular routine Maintenance had been carried out and the system is functioning normally. Property Owner

We all had such a great time. The host was fantastic. Being nestled back in the farm created such a warm home like feeling. I highly recommend this for anytime looking to escape from the busy city.

Thank you and I’m pleased you enjoyed your stay. We are always happy to explain what’s happening on the farm. The pet lambs are always happy to see people. Safe journey home and we look forward to welcoming you back. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay in Darvel and the lodge was perfect for a group of friend's visiting the area for a wedding!"

The lodge is a fab size, with multiple socialising areas and a stunning garden overlooking the rolling Darvel hills. Only points we'd like to highlight to the owner was the septic tank seemed to be causing a lot of serious drainage smells in the en-suite shower of the double downstairs and already mentioned was the single bed in the downstairs twin room nearest the window had loose supports that kept falling down, however if nailed in this would address the issue.

Thank you for your helpful comments. We’re glad you had an enjoyable stay. The slats on the single bed have been sorted and are permanently fixed to the frame now. Regarding the en suite, there is a Saniflo unit fitted and only toilet paper should be put down it. The properties septic tank is no where near the property to cause a smell. Property Owner
