The lounge is worthy of special mention as it was such a good, comfortable space for us to gather, with a well stocked fire and enough seats for us all to relax. One of the best we have experienced. The location is great, with fabulous local walks. We walked into Peebles from the house along paths by the river Tweed; beautiful.Special thanks to our lovely hosts who promptly posted an item we had left behind. We highly recommend Torview!

It is obvious that the owners have taken great care in maintaining the house and the attention to detail was incredible. We were welcomed with supplies such as tea, coffee, wine and cereal and every bathroom was fully stocked with toiletries. The house was cleaned to absolute perfection, not a speck of dust to be seen. The bedrooms were all comfortable and there was plenty of space in the house for a large party including dogs.

There were 5 couples and the rooms, many en-suite, were very comfortable. The kitchen had all that we needed for our catering and the sitting room easily sat all of us for our times together. The setting was delightful, near the river, with local walks all around. The hostess was welcoming and her kindness shone through. If we had another large gathering like this, I would certainly return.

  • "We had such a wonderful time in this beautiful house!"

We could not fault anything at all! The hosts were the most kind and attentive people that you could meet and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Arron was fascinating to chat with - explaining to us the history of the local area, where to go to see the local sights and I found my family had lots of shared interests with her - which some of the conversations were intriguing! The house was spotlessly clean with everything inside that you may need plus more! Lovely touches such as bottled water, toiletries, plenty of towels and a delightful welcome hamper. It was extremely spacious and all though there was 8 adults, we did not feel at any time cramped in. Plenty of privacy as well as very large social areas. And then there is the gardens - astonishingly beautiful! We were lucky enough to sit in the garden a couple of evenings due to warm weather and it was so peaceful. Well cut lawns surrounded by the most perfect flowers which is all tended to by the hosts. Arron and John allow two well-behaved dogs so we had our two collies with us and they were also very much welcomed. We cannot thank you both enough and we definitely will be back to continue with the conversations.

The kitchen has an integrated washing machine and dishwasher and the owner even left washing tablets for both. The kitchen area , which has 2 dining tables easily accommodated the 11 people in our party. The house has a large living room, cloakroom with WC, 2 further bathrooms off the hallway and 6 bedrooms , 4 of which have en-suite facilities all on the one level. The house is sat in well maintained grounds and is a stone throw from the River Tweed. The owners also pointed us in the direction of a lovely walk which was beautiful at this time of year. Located in an area boasting lower than average rainfall, clean air and bright sunshine, visitors flock to Peebles throughout the year to enjoy a variety of events which include art festivals, highland games and the renowned Beltane Week. Enjoy excellent walking, mountain biking and fishing opportunities at the surrounding Forest of Tweeddale and Southern Upland Way, or partake in a round of golf at Peebles’ own superb, championship golf course. There are a host of attractive parks and gardens and several historical houses to explore, whilst the historical city of Edinburgh, with its fascinating museums and celebrated festival is within easy touring distance.
